The summit crater has been rocked by explosive eruptions for more than a week amid ongoing volcanic activity on Hawaii Island. On Saturday, May 19, 2018 an eruption triggered a column of ash from the crater that reached up to 10,000 feet above sea level. And last week Thursday, 5/17/18 a powerful but short-lived explosive sent an ash plume more than 5 miles into the air.

On May 5, 2018 the crater vent's area was about 12 acres; after the explosion on 5/17/18 the vent increased to 34 acres. Geologists say eruptive explosions could last for weeks. Scientists have warned that eruptions could send heavy ashfall across communities tossing boulders "the size of cows" as far as a half a mile. ​5-22-18, Starbucks now says, drugs and sleeping are NOT allowed. 'It sounds like Starbucks is turning their stores into homeless shelters,' Ron Raduechel, a 64-year-old retired supply chain executive from Waukesha, Wisconsin, told the Wall Street Journal, adding that they would no longer go to the coffee chain.

5-22-18, After Drawing Criticism, Starbucks Clarifies New 'Bathroom Policy' less than 48 hours after Starbucks revealed a new story policy that allows anyone to use a cafe’s facilities regardless if they make a purchase, the company clarified the policy. In a letter to its US employees: “any person who enters our spaces, including patios, cafes and restrooms, regardless of whether they make a purchase, is considered a customer.” 

Some Starbucks employees are already tired of dealing with non-paying customers. An employee from Chicago said in they hate the new policy because the store bathrooms have turned into a hub for drug activity. “We haven’t been allowed to change our bathroom codes since April. So almost all the junkies and homeless people know the code now. About once a week we find needles, drug baggies, blood all over the toilet or walls.” the user wrote. More here

4-17-18, We give out free coffee at our stores, and people come ... many homeless and riff raff aren't so much bad people [although they stink to high heaven]. They just don't look pleasant to be around; just find a seat away from them, bring some spray, put on some headphones or earmuffs and if they start talking to the person sitting across the table that isn't there ... well ignore it?

Manhattan Starbucks have become camp out centers for filthy homeless
4-22-18, Reddit -- I live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan; both of my nearest Starbucks seem to be the "go to" hangout for the neighborhoods homeless population. Extremely dirty and bad smelling people are allowed to loiter on the premises indefinitely. Shouldn't there at least be a standard of hygiene before entering a place where food and drink are served? Should someone be allowed to harass customers and pace around ranting insane things at people, putting their filthy hands all over the shared condiments? Why are these people allowed to loiter and harass customers without even being asked to leave?

5-22-18, Nature was on grand display on Washington State's San Juan Island captured by photographer Kevin Ebi describing the scene as a 'dramatic act of thievery' when a bald eagle snatched a rabbit from a red fox. This battle went airborne - more than 20 feet at times - and the tussle was photographed from start to finish. The scene began when the fox snatched a rabbit in a meadow and that's when Ebi noticed an eagle closing in on the rabbit. He writes, "To my surprise, the scene was even more dramatic than I expected. I thought the fox would drop the rabbit, giving the eagle an easy dinner." But the eagle had both animals in its clutches and the three animals took flight in a continuous struggle. Joel was inspired of God to say, "And it shall come to pass afterward..." In Acts 2:17, the Apostle Peter said: "And it shall come to pass in the last days..." 
 
After what shall be fulfilled or after when?**
 
"The last days" could be used as a synonym for the Dispensation of Grace. So the "afterward" in Joel 2:28-29 literally means that the entire nation and people of Israel will experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit after this present dispensation is over when the Church is removed from this earth in what’s called the ‘rapture.’ I believe we are living in "the last days" right now!
 
This year, according to or current calendars, on May 20, 2018, is the anniversary of ‘Pentecost’ [50 days after the resurrection of the Lord Jesus]. [1] I do not dogmatically claim that the Lord Jesus is going to return this Pentecost; as the Lord Jesus may come on some other day, but the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit tells me that He is coming SOON. 
 
When the Lord Jesus does come, will He find you saved and ready, or will you be one of those left behind? If it's the latter, repent and turn to Him today.

5/19/2018, Orlando Sentinel -- Frontier Airline flight enroute to Orlando FL when 59-year-old Mrs Petrini Manley complained she was allergic to dogs ... husband Timothy Manley punched a deaf pregnant woman, Hazel Ramirez and her Great Dane service dog inside the plane.

According to a police report, Timothy Manley was traveling from Colorado Springs, Colo., along with his wife Petrini Manley, 56. Apparently as the plane descended and was being taxied to the gate, although the dog slept through the majority of the flight, upon awaking he stretched and Timothy Manley punched it. Ms Ramirez complained so he punched her also. Manley told police the dog “took up more space than [he] felt it deserved.” More here

5-16-18, * -- In ancient days, tassels adorned the garments of nobles and people of high cultural standing. Those who were wealthy flaunted their abundance. However, this was not to be so with God’s people. They were to be “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:6), a peculiar people set apart. In dress, diet and in conduct, they were called to a posture of worship - not pride. In their clothing they were provided a different adornment, a blue corded tassel. This was to be a constant reminder of the righteous commandments of the Lord and to obey them.

Like God’s people before us, we're reminded not to follow after our own hearts and eyes. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” (Proverbs 14:12; 16:25)

Might we not consider our own appearance, but remember when Jesus’ garments were – in faith only - touched by an ill woman. When – on a crowded street - she touched His garments - He knew it! (Matthew 9:21).

As God brings His commands to our remembrance, we must joyfully realize that - if we obey - they are ultimately for our well being.

5-14-18, Christian Post -- Gerrardstown, WV Christian parent, Rich Penkoski became aware of the class assignment for his 7th grade daughter, Brielle Penkoski. The social studies packet on Islam was part of the class' world religions unit. The pages detailed the history of Islam, Mohammad, the five pillars of the religion and towards the end a worksheet instructing the students to practice their calligraphy by copying the proclamation of faith to Islam called the 'Shahada.'

School Principal, Ron Branch, claims the assignment was optional. However, Brielle said when she left Monday's class, after the packet was first handed out, she believed the packet had been a required assignment because past assignments on Christianity and Judaism were required and not optional. Three days later the teacher, Katherine Hinson explicitly assured the class on Wednesday that the Islam packet was optional and that she is not advocating for any religion.

Mr Penkoski said, "If it was optional, then why was there no option for comparison for Judaism and Christianity? There was no option to recite any of the Lord's Prayer and Ten Commandments. There was no option to write Hebrew. Why is it only Islam? I am curious why the other ones were not optional and the Islamic one was optional. It only seemed to be optional after I raised objection." Currently it has been reported that Pyongyang has threatened to pull out over US pressure for unilateral nuclear abandonment. The first sign of a hiccup came after comments by National Security Adviser John Bolton said NoKo could expect no assistance or relaxation until it fully dismantles its nuke program. Turkey Calls for Islamic Nations to Unite Against Israel!
5-16-18, Turkish Prime Minster Binali Yildirim this week called on Islamic nationst o unite as one against Israel during a speech to his ruling party in parliament. Turkey had already this week recalled its ambassadors in the U.S. and Israel in wake of the Embassy inauguration and subsequent protests, and it also expelled Israel’s ambassador from Turkey. Now Turkey seeks an even greater response with a collaborative effort from Islamic nations.In a speech in London on May 13, 2018 Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also condemned the U.S before his announcement regarding the recall of Turkey's ambassadors. He stated that the U.S. had lost its role as mediator in the Middle East because of the Embassy move. In a speech broadcast on Turkish state television Erdogan also had fierce words for Israel; claiming being a “terrorist” entity that carried out a “genocide” in killing Palestinians during the May border protest clash. He said: “What Israel has done is genocide. I condemn this humanitarian drama, the genocide, from whichever side it comes, Israel or America.”
