Chemical Spill & Fire from Train Derailment in 2023 East Palestine, Ohio
5-31-25, NewsNation [here]— Residents of East Palestine, Ohio have filed a series of lawsuits against Norfolk Southern Railroad plus state and federal agencies, alleging they did not do enough to protect the town after the February 3, 2023 train derailed in their community when Joe Biden was in White House. The area, Town and citizens have been devastated. Many sick with cancer and rashes. Nearly 800 residents are involved in the litigation.

One of those people is Jami Wallace reported that the government didn’t help he said: “The CDC comes in, and (we) get sick, and they leave us here. They betrayed us. We’re taxpaying United States citizens, and our government left us. Still nothing, not even a bottle of water.”

"There are a lot of questions as to whether contaminated soil is being cleaned up properly and whether tests are being done for air and water quality. We’re going to keep hammering Washington within the next couple of weeks, if we have to. But hopefully, we can get a good answer before then.”

2-16-23, WKBN [here] – Ohio Sen JD Vance [R] spent Thursday, 2-16-23 in East Palestine, talking with residents and business people about issues surrounding the train derailment. He said stories that he heard of contractors hired by Norfolk Southern Railroad burying contaminated soil beneath new rail lines are especially troubling.

“You cannot dig out and clean up an area if there are railroad tracks, and there are trains going over it. So the fact that they replaced the rails, I think, suggests that they are much more focused on reopening the railway than cleaning up the community. That’s a big, big problem.”

Attorney Mindy Bish representing citizens said: “It [the CDC letter] says, specifically, we don’t believe you should test or treat. And it even goes on to say that residents can feel stressed as a result of a major environmental disaster. So when I read it, I thought that's the beginning of telling these people there's nothing’s really wrong with you. You’re just crazy.”

Ohio's Toxic Wastewater from Train Derailment Moved to Another Red State = TEXAS!

2-24-23, TribChronicle -- At a press conference Thursday, 2-23-23 Harris County, Texas Judge Lina Hidalgo said 500,000 gallons of wastewater from Ohio's recent train catastrophe that prompted evacuations when toxic chemicals were burned after being released from five derailed tanker rail cars carrying vinyl chloride. It has been delivered to Deer Park, Texas; to Texas Molecular who injects hazardous waste into the ground for disposal. The company told KHOU-TV it is experienced in managing this type of disposal. Judge Hildalgo also reported that: “I know that our community was taken aback by the news just as I was. I want folks to know there are many things we don’t know that we should know. That doesn’t mean that something is wrong; and I want to stress that point.”

2-21-23, ColumbusDispatch [here] -- Posted on Twitter: "The East Palestine Ohio train derailment is going to poison that entire Ohio river valley. (And probably the Mississippi river as well.) Decades of health effects." The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency [EPA] detected butyl acrylate and ethylhexyl acrylate in waterways near the train wreck. Sulphur Run remains contaminated but ... [yadda yadda all okay!] They claim that most, if not all, municipal water utilities have the ability to remove toxic chemicals using methods like oxidation and powder-activated carbon. People who are not on municipal supplies, having their own wells, etc. and they're nearby, that's something different altogether. According to the Ohio River Foundation the 981-mile Ohio River flows through and borders six states; it is the source of drinking water for more than 5 million people.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality told KTRK-TV that Texas Molecular “is authorized to accept and manage a variety of waste streams, including vinyl chloride, as part of their … hazardous waste permit and underground injection control permit.”

SCOTUSblog ran an encouraging story 5-26-25 headlined, “Supreme Court allows Trump to remove agency heads without cause.” This is big deal - until President Trump began firing board members, the boards were majority Democrat. This decision is slowly shifting power from the unelected permanent bureaucracy [the deep state] and back to Presidential power that isn’t expanding— it’s being restored. Be encouraged despite all the attention to one frustrating immigration decision last week [here], the Supreme Court has not gone rogue. The brake on rogue lower courts is still working.
NYTimes headline, “Japan Will Spend $6.3 Billion to Shield Its Economy From Trump’s Tariffs.” Japan, the world’s fifth-largest economy, is spending it own taxpayers’ money to “reimburse businesses and households adversely affected by the tariffs.” In other words, they’re taking money from taxpayers, then giving it back to them. Showing level of emergency they’re navigating. Snatching cash from certain taxpayers to prop up more politically-connected others —robbing Peter to pay Paul— is not sustainable. It’s just moving the deck chairs around the Titanic.
NYTimes also headlined “China’s Soft Spot in Trade War With Trump: Risk of Huge Job Loss.” Remember corporate media called the tariffs “economic suicide?” that Trump’s China tariffs would cause U.S. prices to skyrocket sneered that the Chinese held all the cards? [..] Now the Times tells us, “China’s economy is struggling.” China’s counter-tariffs are failing. One Shanghai equipment maker has collapsed, closing down due to China’s punitive retaliatory duties on U.S. machinery. A toy factory owner said: “It’s existential. We might not exist.” Therefore, if China keeps retaliating with its own tariffs, it will destroy its own importers. Trump has found China’s exposed nerve. Negotiations continue, but China is weak.
The tariffs are hammering Toyota, Nissan, and Honda. Toyota is forecasting a $1.3 billion losses just for April and May. Reportedly Nissan plans to move some of its production to the U.S.A.
Spain deployed a $15 billion bailout package, to buy more time to negotiate a tariff deal with the USA.
Canada has “earmarked billions” for tariff relief.
Germany’s parliament is currently debating its own industrial bailout package.
WSJ headline: “Dow Futures Rally After European Union [EU] Agrees to Fast-Track Trade Talks. Recently President Trump agreed to delay 50% tariffs on the EU until July 9th.

What all this means is that foreign nations are being forced to pay to stay in the game. President Trump is winning and he's doing it without a treaty, years of State Dept bickering, Congress and without a war!

Law professor Jonathan Turley calls it “injunctivitis.” Harvard Law’s Adrian Vermeule says that district courts’ nationwide restraining orders “are basically an automatic judicial veto on all new policy.” List follows:

Massachusetts District Judge Allison Burroughs blocked Trump’s funding ban on Harvard almost the moment papers
Wash DC Judge James Boasberg wanted illegal migrant Garcia brought back from El Salvador
New York District Judge Alvin Hellerstein blocked illegal migrants removal without ‘due process’
Colorado Biden's appointee US District Judge Charlotte Sweeney, blocked deportations from her state.

However, Fifth Circuit Judge James Ho recently denounced his colleagues for acting like short-order cooks for the left. “We should admit that this is special treatment being afforded to certain favored litigants . . . and we should stop pretending that Lady Justice is blindfolded.”

This raises a question: What if Trump simply ignored these rulings? He wouldn’t be the first president to do so. Abraham Lincoln essentially disregarded the court’s Dred Scott ruling, arguing that:

“… an unelected body couldn’t legitimately make policy for an entire nation based on a single case. If the policy of the Government upon vital questions affecting the whole people is to be irrevocably fixed by decisions of Court . . . the people will have ceased to be their own rulers.”
