 They That Wait Upon the Lord Psalm 40:1-2; Isaiah 40:31 3-10-18, Henry Morris, PhD -- This is one of the best-loved promises of the Bible, for it is easy to grow weary and faint in our mortal bodies, even when doing the work of the Lord. The answer, we are told, is to "wait upon the LORD." What does this mean? The dying faithful patriarch Jacob cried out: "I have waited for Thy salvation, O LORD." (Genesis 49:18) Perhaps the clearest insight into its meaning is its use in the picture of Christ foreshadowed in the 40th Psalm. "I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry" (Psalm 40:1). "The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary" (Isaiah 40:28), and His gracious promise is that we can "renew our strength" (literally, "exchange our strength," our weakness for His strength!) by "waiting upon Him." - The length of the 3 obstacle track is about 800 feet with two dry obstacles and a 3 ft deep water obstacle
- The man's wife to be carried may be your own, or the neighbor's, or you may have found her further afield; she must, however, be over 17 years of age.
- The minimum weight of the wife to be carried is 108 pounds. If she weighs less, a rucksack containing additional weight to bring the total load will be carried.
- All participants must enjoy themselves.
- The only equipment allowed is a belt worn by the carrier and a helmet worn by the carried.
- The contestants run the race two pairs at a time, so each heat is a contest in itself.
- Each contestant responsible for his/her safety and, if deemed necessary, insurance.
- There is only one category in the World Championships, and the winner is the couple who completes the course in the shortest time.

The 412 pages of documents turned over in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by several media outlets included the initial October 2016 application [issued during Obama's watch] and the three applications for renewal of the surveillance order.

She also testified that that because she wanted to go to a week long church meeting … Makena was furious and beat her severely -- again. She went to the meeting anyway and while she was gone he locked her out of their home. He declared to the neighbors that his wife would never enter his home again. To make his point, as he headed to his girlfriend's house, he threw Adabele's house key in the river.
As Adabele returned home, she stopped at the market planning to prepare a hearty meal praying to appease Makena. When she reached the house she was puzzled that it was locked up tight. So she began to prepare the meal assuming Makena would be home soon. Cleaning the fish and a key fell out of its belly. Puzzled she noticed the key looked similar to her own house key; she tried it and it worked - thank YOU, Lord! While the food cooked, she cleaned the house waiting for Makena to return.
When Makena arrived home from his Islamic Friday prayers, he saw his house was open and a fire going in the outdoor kitchen. He was enraged thinking Adabele broke into the locked house. He soon saw nothing was damaged and demanded to know how she got in. Adabele explained about the key in the fish. Makena was a superstitious man and was stunned deciding he should check out her ‘religion.’
On Sunday Makena went to church with Adabele and after the sermon he spoke to the Pastor recounting the incredulous story about the house key and said, "I want to serve the God of the Christians. He is the One who knows and has power to do what no one else can."
Adabele’s prayers were answered Makena accepted Christ and was born again!
The apostle Matthew tells of a fish caught with a coin in its mouth... (Matthew 17:27). God is still 'fisher of men' hallelujah!

Often we wonder why the Lord God allows the wicked and elderly to continue on this earth taking the good and young. Bad things happening to the good while the wicked seem to prosper. As we ponder this age old question, we must acknowledge that human beings, who are not eternal, infinite, or omniscient, cannot fully understand God’s behaviors and purposes.
A good example is found in the Bible’s book of Job when God allowed Satan to do everything he wanted to Job except kill him and Satan did his worst. Job did not understand why God allowed him to suffer so many tragedies; but he knew God was good and continued to trust in Him. [And in the end of Job’s life; he recovered what was lost plus. Job 42:13-14,16]
“Though he slay me, yet will I hope in Him” (Job 13:15). “The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised” (Job 1:21).
Bad things may happen to good people in this world because:

Bad things may happen to good people in this world because:
- The worst things happened to the best Person, the Lord Jesus. He was the only truly Righteous One, yet He suffered more than we can imagine. We follow in His footsteps: 1 Peter 2:20–23). Romans 5:8 declares, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
- God uses those bad things for an ultimate, lasting good; clearly we can’t understand but... “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). When Joseph, innocent of wrongdoing, finally came through his horrific sufferings, he was able to see God’s good plan in it all (see Genesis 50:19–21).
- Perhaps those bad things equip believers for deeper ministry. (2 Corinthians 1:3–5). Those with battle scars can better help those going through battles. Christians have an eternal perspective: “We do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:16–18).
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your
own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6).
We walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
We will have a reward some day and it will be glorious. Hallelujah!

July 2018, Duck Boat, Branson: 31 passengers - only 14 survived - Second Time USA Duck Boats Suffer Tragedy
Nineteen Years Ago in Arkansas Thirteen Drowned
7-19-18, BRANSON, MO. — A duck tour boat catastrophe on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri, killed 17 people including the boat’s driver. Eleven members of the Coleman family all were aboard; however only Tia and one nephew survived. Tia Coleman said the captain told them no need for life jackets; reportedly they were on board. The storm was announced appx 30 minutes before the boat capsized; the mayor identified the crew member driver operating the boat Branson resident Robert “Bob” Williams, 73 who was among the dead. The Captain survived*.

Just as Republican President Donald Trump’s critics today hysterically shout that he embarrassed Americans before the world: “the European powers will despise us because we have no better material out of which to make a President.”
Since his death, Lincoln has been revered although he was a wildly unpopular President in his day, even within his own party. Likewise Pres Trump also has fanatical critics; but his base of supporters is growing with 80% approving his Helsinki summit with Russia's Putin. Despite a booming economy and outstanding success against ISIS and North Korea and possible good terms with Russia, the onslaught of negativity from leftist liberals continues.
When Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation [freeing slaves], the Chicago Times decried it as “a monstrous usurpation, a criminal wrong, and an act of national suicide.”

WHAT DOES HE MEAN HEIRS
AND JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST?
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together."
Romans 8:4, 15-16
7-19-18, * – The Apostle Paul said we will be heirs and joint-heirs with our King Jesus Christ Who is our God and Savior. What is an heir? Traditionally, it's adoption into a family when one legally is eligible for an equal share in the father's estate.
What Paul is saying in Romans 8 is that God will give all born again believers everything in equal share belonging to King Jesus. All the rights to those who have been called the "children of God." That’s not saying that we will be Gods ourselves, but we will be Kings and Priest of almighty God for all eternity. 1st Corinthians 2:9-12
The Father loves all His children. He has and gives good gifts to us this side of eternity. In this life, we have been pardoned, our sin washed away by the blood of Jesus and given eternal life and future immortality with Him (Romans 5:6-9, 8:1-4).
The blessings of God began when we believed and accepted Jesus Christ, but they will not end until we receive God's Spirit in full measure and are glorified in His Kingdom. That will come when we either stop breathing on this earth or in the removal of God's Church in the rapture. God who is infinite, without limit and the Creator of all things will bestow on those who love Him all good things; hard to imagine it.
