3,000 Employees Fired at State Dept - Took Three Months to Get a Headcount [here]

7-16-25, FoxNews -- When senior State Department officials set out to trim the agency in the "biggest reorganization since the Cold War," for three months they couldn’t get a total headcount on employees. Officials reported on the waste of time and money. There was requirement for 40 to 50 clearances for every piec of paper - we now have a maximum of 12 clearances on any piece of paper.

The department had dozens of different offices handling human resources, and when a new employee was hired, they were accepting antiquated "faxed" records on their past work with other agencies. 
The changes didn’t touch the country desks especifically those focused on nations like Iran or China. They didn’t fire anyone from passport services or diplomatic security or make cuts at embassies or foreign posts. The reorganization will result in a department with about 3,000 fewer employees. Around half of those took a voluntary buyout, and the other half were given reduction in force (RIF) notices.

7-11-25, * -- Presidents Donald Trump and Teddy Roosevelt are almost equal parts alike. Donald and Teddy were both scions of wealthy New York families, with careers outside of politics, equally comfortable in elite salons, mingling with the working class and both radically changed the nature of their political parties, fighting what they saw as as an entrenched establishment that no longer served the needs of American citizens.

In 1901 Republican New Yorker, Theodore Roosevelt  Jr. became the 26th president of the United States. He was involved in New York politics - first serving as NY's 33rd governor, the 25th vice president under President William McKinley for six months in 1901, assuming the presidency after McKinley's assassination.

Then on October 14, 1912 while campaigning in Milwaukee, WI for the presidency a deranged gunman approached shooting him at close range.  The bullet was impeded by some papers in his pocket, but although it lodged in his chest, he reasoned the bullet had not penetrated his lung or he wouldn’t be standing there insisting on completing his speech saying: “Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot, but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose.” For almost an hour Teddy spoke with blood still coming from his wound commanding the crowd and gesticulating as only he could.  Only after, did he go to the hospital, but they were never able to remove the bullet that remained there until he died in 1919. 

Roosevelt & Donald J. Trump both suffered election defeats; Teddy in 1912 and Donald in 2020. Both suffered persecution in the courts - Roosevelt participated in two civil trials after he left the Presidency in 1909 and Donald also was in court as his enemies tried to prevent him from becoming president again in 2024 - they failed. 

The many lawsuits vs Trump by the end of 2024 had the media saying “legal means had failed.” His supporters appreciate that he didn’t give up; that he’s a fighter similar to President Teddy Roosevelt. Both men share determination, bravery, courage, or just plain grit. They also share an adoration from their supporters that other politicians can only envy, along with an intense hatred from their detractors.

On July 13, 2024 President Donald J. Trump also suffered an attempted assassination where he emerged with only a bloody wound on his right ear. The image of President Trump pumping his fist in the air with blood running down his face encapsulated what so many have long admired about the man; strength, power and resiliency. 

Is there any doubt President Trump would’ve continued his speech on 7-13-24 if the Secret Service allowed it?

7-14-25, * -- According to a Homeland Security report the USA Secret Service [SS] budget is just over $3 billion, with a workforce of about 8,000 – money well spent??  On 7-13-24 Butler, PA a killer was permitted to wander into the immediate vicinity where President Trump would be speaking and pull out a laser rangefinder - as he intended to assassinate President Trump. Many saw it - even the SS agents who did nothing. Then the killer carried a full-size long gun and climbed a ladder to a rooftop with a clear view of the President’s platform appx 130 feet away and comfortably stretched out - the SS did nothing. The President’s Secret Service ignored the killer who shot & wounded President Trump =>

The SS agents at Butler were sleepwalking through the performance of their duties, ignoring even the most obvious threat indicators - that many rally goers told them were happening. It’s hard to imagine that some minor suspensions will do much to instill a new attitude in men and women who seem to have been unfazed by almost losing their protectee. Everybody in a position of responsibility in the SS who was in Butler that day - President Trump almost died - deserve more than mere suspensions and loss of pay; they should be fired!

7-11-25, God has integrated many of His principles into the fabric of nature so that we can see His handiwork and learn of Him (Psalm 19:1-6). The outdoors sometimes comes inside. And by directing attention to birds, the Lord Jesus challenges us to consider the folly of anxiety (Matthew 6:26). Birds do not reap or gather grain, but assume their food will be supplied as it always has been. 
Our quest for wisdom is to be rooted in Scripture and covered in prayer.  And the Lord provides many physical examples to help us along.
