August 21, 2017 USS John McCain took a blow to port left side, below decks to sleeping quarters. She had the right of way when the merchant vessel Alnic MC rammed her. The need to repair the damaged hulls of both the USS McCain and USS Fitzgerald mean the ships will be unable to take part in the Navy's Aegis missile defense systems at a time when threats posed by North Korean missile attacks in the region are increasing. 8-21-17, Pete Garcia [Excerpt*] -- The world has now arrived at this generation who has been so thoroughly corrupted, that the 'anti-Christ spirit' has saturated every facet of our generation. Education, religion, philosophy, science, government, politics, military and economics have all become corrupted. Mankind is again reaching that point where they are so mentally, morally and spiritually bankrupt that they no longer are able to reason. This breakdown can be clearly evidenced merely by turning on the TV; viewing the sitcoms, news or reading the day’s headlines.
However, there's still a remnant of society who are the blood-bought redeemed who cannot be tainted; being the born again believers in Christ, His Church.
Abraham once pleaded with God on Lot’s behalf that He should spare Sodom from destruction on account of the righteous that still lived there (Gen. 18:16-33). Abraham puts forth a biblically foundational question by asking God…"Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked?"
After much bargaining, God finally settles on ten righteous persons residing in those cities, God would withhold judgment. When judgment did come, God honored His commitment to Abraham by removing Lot and his family before enacting His wrath upon Sodom and Gomorrah.
There is an interesting correlation between man’s progressive sin nature and God’s progressive judgment in dealing with that nature. It is almost like the law of diminishing returns, in which there is less and less good that comes from man’s extended stay on this planet. Within 1,650 years of Adam and Eve’s fall, man had become so sinful, wicked and genetically corrupt that God had to destroy the world with a flood sparing only eight persons of Noah's family ... and in Lot’s day (around 2,000 years from Adam’s fall), the cities of the plains surrounding Sodom and Gomorrah were consumed with fire sparing only Lot and his two daughters (not counting the 'salted' wife). From then until Christ (2,000 years later), numerous nations and empires rose and fell allowing for the conditions to be exactly perfect (fullness of time) for the arrival of the first coming of the Messiah (Gal. 4:4-5).

The number of those who are currently waiting for the Lord to return is diminishing:
- Out of the seven and a half billion people alive on the planet today, only two billion claim some form of the Christian faith (about half Protestant, half Catholic).
- Out of the two billion ‘Christians,’ only around one billion believe that Jesus will ever physically return to the earth.
- Out of the one billion, perhaps only 10% believe Christ will come back in their lifetime.
- Of that number (100,000,000), perhaps 15% (15,000,000) are watching and believe that Christ’s return is imminent.
Not a lot of people when you look at it from that perspective.
At the harpazo (the Rapture) when the world will be going about its day to day activities, desensitized to the prophetic markers heralding Christ’s soon return, it'll be like the days of Noah and Lot. [Luke 17:26-30]
Just as the Jews awaited the arrival of their Messiah in what's been called 'the 400 silent years,' we (the Church) have been waiting 2,000 years for His return. At the rapture, God’s common grace towards mankind will come to an end.
Sinful and unrepentant mankind are given over to a strong delusion (2 Thessalonians 2: 9-12). God’s eternal gaze returns solely to disciplining His covenant nation of Israel and making a full end to all the nations where she has been scattered (Jer. 30:7-11).
While we do not see instant justice exacted for all the wrong doings in this world, our hope and trust lies in God Who has and will not let one single error slip through the cracks:
However, before the righteous and almighty God - Creator of Heaven and Earth - unleashes His furor He will, in keeping with Abraham’s question, remove His own from a world ripe for judgment.
- All of the blood ever spilled on the earth will be judged
- All the evil things done in the thick of darkness will be brought to light

Paul and Silas Praise God in Prison

8-21-17, In a vision the Lord told Paul, Silas, Timothy and Luke to go to Macedonia. It was several days journey from Troas to Philippi by boat. Since there wasn’t a synagogue there, they began to preach at the river side to several women.
One woman there was Lydia who believed in the Lord Jesus and was baptized. They also met a slave girl who had a demon that Paul cast out; she then believed in Jesus also. She had been a fortune teller and her owners became very angry as they would lose money without their fortune teller.
They dragged Paul & Silas before the rulers of the city who stripped off their clothes, beat and imprisoned them. The jailers secured them far within; clamping their feet into secure stocks designed for the most dangerous criminals. As they sat in their dungeon they prayed and sang of the 'good news' of Jesus so the other prisoners could hear. A great earthquake opened the doors and unshackled them all.
The jailer had fallen asleep and was awakened; seeing all the prisoners freed he was very afraid and almost took his own life, but Paul stopped him with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, we are all here!” The guard believed in the one true God and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” He and his household were saved and baptized. Hallelujah!

7-15-15, Professor Dr Walter E. Williams -- The victors of war write its history in order to cast themselves in the most favorable light. That explains the considerable historical ignorance about our war of 1861 and panic over the Confederate flag.
To create better understanding, we have to start a bit before the 1787 Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia.
The 1783 Treaty of Paris ended the war between the colonies and Great Britain. Its first article declared the 13 colonies “to be free, sovereign and independent states.” These 13 sovereign nations came together in 1787 as principals and created the federal government as their agent. Principals have always held the right to fire 'agents.' In other words, states held a right to withdraw from the pact — secede. [1]
During the 1787 Constitutional Convention, a proposal was made that would allow the federal government to suppress a seceding state. James Madison rejected it, saying, “A union of the states containing such an ingredient seemed to provide for its own destruction. The use of force against a state would look more like a declaration of war than an infliction of punishment and would probably be considered by the party attacked as a dissolution of all previous compacts by which it might be bound.”

- Both Northern Democratic and Republican Parties favored allowing the South to secede in peace.
- Just about every major Northern newspaper editorialized in favor of the South’s right to secede. New York Tribune (Feb. 5, 1860): “If tyranny and despotism justified the Revolution of 1776, then we do not see why it would not justify the secession of Five Millions of Southrons from the Federal Union in 1861.” ... Detroit Free Press (Feb. 19, 1861): “An attempt to subjugate the seceded states, even if successful, could produce nothing but evil — evil unmitigated in character and appalling in content.” ... The New York Times (March 21, 1861): “There is growing sentiment throughout the North in favor of letting the Gulf States go.”

8-15-17, Forbes -- Fleas in Arizona are carrying the plague. Yes, the plague as in the "Black Death" that killed around 60% of the European population in the mid-1300s.
Should you be alarmed? Should you, um, flee Arizona? In short: no.
Finding fleas that are carrying Yersinia pestis - the plague - still occurs in different parts of the world. Since 2000 most of the larger outbreaks appear in the Middle East: Madagascar, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Algeria. 2015 had 320 reported cases worldwide, which led to 77 deaths.
Hmm, wonder if the illegal migrants are bringing them in? We're seeing an increase of TB and others:

8-18-17, I just put my extra laptop computer in a Faraday Cage [nesting box]. I have 100s of ebooks on it and also have a generator & solar battery to power it. Of course there is the possibility THEY could be fried from the EMP ... oh well, do whatcha can! I have now learned there is an easier way ... see below.

While the ability of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) to inflict catastrophic damage on U.S. infrastructure has been a known fact for decades, insufficient efforts have been taken to mitigate the threat. A survey of congressional, federal, state, local, and international measures to deal with the threat reveals more complacency than action.
In 2008, under the Natl Defense Authorization Act for FY 2008, the Dept of Homeland Security was required “to coordinate efforts with the [EMP] Commission for work related to EMP attack on electricity infrastructure, and protect the USA against it.”... In August 2010 Michael Frankel, who served as executive director of the EMP Commission said that from 2001 to 2009 the commission testified that their mandate has simply languished.
A high-altitude EMP could create malfunctions of electronic control equipment over thousands of kilometers. There is not sufficient protection from such a widespread, simultaneous impact.
* Starfish Prime was a July 9, 1962 high-altitude nuclear test conducted by the USA, jointly with the Atomic Energy Commission. It was the largest nuclear test conducted in outer space and one of five conducted by the US in space. [It damaged electrical equipment and power outages in Hawaii.] More here, here and here
