10-17-18, Russia's TASS news agency reported that the Islamic terror group in Syria, ISIS militants has taken appx 700 hostages in the Deir al-Zor province after attacking a refugee camp in an area controlled by US forces and US backed troops.

Russia's Pres Putin said, “Islamic State terrorists have delivered ultimatums and made certain demands, threatening to shoot ten people every day. This is just horrible, it is a catastrophe. Some US and European citizens are among the hostages.”He did not specify what the terrorists’ demands were. 10-17-18, Speaking in the Black Sea resort city of Sochi, Russia, President Putin said, "They have issued ultimatums, specific demands and warned that if these ultimatums are not met they will execute 10 people every day. The day before yesterday [10/15/18] they executed 10 people."

ISIS Demands
Russian news agency TASS said: “Militants demand that Syrian Democratic Forces, fighting on the side of the US-led coalition, release captured ISIS terrorists and concede several territories on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River."

Washington Skeptical

Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme 
It should come as no surprise to those who monitor the government and its deceptive ways that when, in 1935. Democrat Pres Franklin Roosevelt introduced Social Security, he deceptively fostered the idea that Social Security would be a savings account, where employees & employers would make contributions and the guaranteed monies would be paid back to them with interest when they reached age of 65. The Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of it; however recognizing that there would be no trust fund in the traditional sense; it found that the tax dollars collected and supposedly designated for Social Security were "not earmarked in any way." The same federal government that prosecutes people like Bernie Madoff for paying out more than they collect does the very same thing under the color of law. It's basically a 'ponzi scheme' theft by deception — lawful just because the government runs it? The Supreme Court has said "yes." More here

Zechariah 14:9

10-18-18, Henry Morris, PhD -- God cannot be defeated in His creative purpose for this earth and its people. In the beginning, there was only God. In the ending, there will be one Lord and His name one.

In the meantime, He is working out His great plan of reconciliation, as revealed in His Word. In the magnificent book of Revelation, especially the last two chapters, we are carried forward in the Spirit into the never-ending glories of the renewed earth, with the great Creator and Redeemer dwelling there with His people eternally.

However, in that final chapter, there are some final words from the Lord to guide and warn us until He returns, for example:

1. “And let him that is athirst come” (Revelation 22:17).
2. The final warning: let no man “add unto these things,” or “take away from the words of the book of this prophecy” (Revelation 22:18-19). 
3. There's a final promise. “He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly” (Rev 22:20). Of all the promises of God, there is none more “exceeding great and precious” than this. (2 Peter 1:4) In response, there is a final prayer, teaching us that this should be the climax of every believing prayer: “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20)
4. There's a final benediction, the same as the close of each of Paul’s epistles, and the most wonderful of all the words of a holy, yet loving, Creator, “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." (Rev 22:21)

Atlanta to Pay $1.2 Million to Former Fire Chief After Firing
​10-16-18, The city of Atlanta GA USA did not approve of Chief Kevin Cochran's  book. After a 30-day suspension without pay, in order to complete "sensitivity training," and an investigation into his conduct (which showed he had never discriminated against anyone in the fire department), his career came to an end in Atlanta. This led Cochran to embark on a three-year legal battle that he says was never just about him. Court ruled Atlanta will pay Chief Cochran, $1.2 million after a Federal District Court ruled in December 2017 that the city's policies which led to Cochran's termination were unconstitutional. The book was for members of his church expressing biblical views on sexuality, adultery and homosexuality.

10-18-18, Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDC said they've been investigating at least 386 possible cases of acute flaccid myelitis [AFM] dating back to 2014 confirming 62 cases in 22 states so far in 2018. 

The cause of most AFM cases is unknown. There's no specific treatment and longterm implications are unknown. Symptoms include drooping face and eyelids, difficulty with eye movement, swallowing and slurred speech. In severe cases, children might have trouble breathing and need a ventilator because of muscle weakness.

"To prevent infections in general, persons should stay home if they are ill, wash their hands often with soap and water, avoid close contact (such as touching and shaking hands) with those who are ill, and clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces."[6] Unlike polio AFM cannot currently be prevented with a vaccine.

10-15-18, * -- Why is Jerusalem such a big deal in world news? Why aren't we talking about Los Angeles, Paris, Rome, or some other major capital in another part of the world? Why this little city? [Jerusalem, Capitol of Israel, Area: 48.3 mi, Population: 857,752]

I will tell you why. Because God said that in the last days, Jerusalem would play a key role: "I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves" (Zechariah 12:2–3 NLT).

Scripture also foretold in Ezekiel 37 that the Jews would be regathered in their land, and this prophecy was fulfilled when Israel became a nation on May 14, 1948. After Ezekiel 37 comes Ezekiel 38, which speaks of an attack against Israel by a large nation to the north of the Jewish homeland, accompanied by a number of allies invading Israel from every direction. Scripture emphasizes multiple times that this will happen in the last days. This is still in the future.

In speaking of Israel's enemies, Ezekiel 38:8–11 offers an interesting detail:
"A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel.
"You and all your allies—a vast and awesome army—will roll down on them like a storm and cover the land like a cloud.
"This is what the Sovereign Lord says: 'At that time evil thoughts will come to your mind, and you will devise a wicked scheme. You will say, "Israel is an unprotected land filled with unwalled villages! I will march against her and destroy these people who live in such confidence!"'" (NLT). ​

These people who live in such confidence? Can you imagine that statement being made right after the Holocaust? Hardly. Can you imagine that statement being made after Israel was established as a nation, or even after the 1967 war? Not really. But today Israel has one of the most powerful and effective military forces on the face of the earth. They are not the largest, but they are known for their military prowess and for their military intelligence. And for quite a long time now, they have had nuclear weaponry. That is why Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stood before the United Nations and made it very clear that, if necessary, Israel will exercise a military option to protect herself. So I think Israel does live within a certain degree of confidence today that they have never known historically.

The Bible predicts that a national revival will come to Israel, when God will once again pour out his Spirit upon the nation. But this will happen after the rapture of the church. Romans 11:25 predicts, "Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ."

If knowing what the Bible predicts about the last days doesn't impact us in the way that we live, then we have missed what God is trying to say. Jesus didn't say, "When these things begin to happen, argue about it." Rather...

Jesus said: "When these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near." (Luke 21:28 NKJV).

10-16-18, Why should women's sports competition be halted; they’re not just “women’s” sports anymore. A case in point is “Rachel” McKinnon, Ph.D., a man masquerading as a woman (MMW), or a “transgender” as the enlighteners say, who just won a women’s masters cycling event. As The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft (almost) put it, he “whooped them little girls.”

​McKinnon isn’t alone, as many men masquerading as a woman (MMW) have won women’s sporting events during the last decade. To name just a few, a 55-year-old MMW won a women’s long-drive competition (golf) in 2008. Last year, a 39-year-old MMW won a women’s weightlifting event. Then there were the Connecticut’s State Open track and field championships in June; the top two finishers in the 100-meter dash were both MMW (okay, being boys, they were BMG), with one of them setting the girls’ state record in both the 100 and 200-meter runs. Hey, you go…uh…girl. [..snip]

10-17-18, The Israeli PM Netanyahu spoke to President Putin on October 7, 2018 the Russian leader’s 66th birthday declaring that he will visit Moscow in the near future. This would be the first meeting between these two “old friends” since the downing of the Russian Il-20 spy plane on Sept 17, 2018. At first Russia blamed Israel for the downing with its 15-member crew, when in fact it was shot down by Syrian anti-aircraft fire, during an Israeli attack on an Iranian-Syrian base in Latakia.  Reportedly, during the upcoming meeting, Putin & Netanyahu will discuss air cooperation.  In their telephone conversation, Pres Putin absolved Israel's responsibility of the downing of the plane.  Still, the incident seems to have somewhat soured relations. Resulting in Russia providing Syria with the vaunted anti-aircraft S-300 missile system. Apparently to restrict Israeli operations in Syria against Iranian and Syrian targets.  

Syria's Russian Mediterranean Port
From a military and strategic vantage point, Iran and Syria are valuable Russian allies in countering the U.S. influence in the region.  Syria offers Russia bases on the Mediterranean Sea and an important port at Tartus that is the Russian Navy's only overseas port. Iran’s anti-American stance and its attempts at subversion of Arab pro-American regimes, is part of the chess game that scores points for Russia, albeit, Russia is not interested in a military confrontation with the U.S. or Israel. 

Iran & Syria’s trade with Russia are insignificant
Trade with Iran comprised only 1% of Russia’s foreign trade. Iran imported from Russia in 2016 $1,881,772,374 and exported to Russia $302,550,106 in goods.  Most of its exported goods included military hardware, including the S-300 air-defense system at a cost of $900 million.  Russia’s trade with Syria amounted to only 0.00605% of its foreign trade. Syria imported from Russia $182,254,336 and exported to Russia $11,020,676.  Military hardware constitutes a large part of the Russian exports to Syria.  Russia exports to Israel $1,469,348,877 worth of goods, or .515% of Russia’s foreign trade. Syria is not a very good paying customer, and much of the Russian hardware has been given to Assad at reduced rates or gratis [no cost].  

Israel's Russian Culture
For Putin’s Russia, Israel is a bastion of Russian culture.  With over a million former Russian citizens in Israel, imbued with Russian culture and impacted by its education, Israel is one of a few such countries in the world, and certainly, the only one in the Middle East.  This kind of Russian cultural influence plays a positive role in Putin’s mind.  Moreover, Israel, and Netanyahu in particular, are seen as a bridge between the Trump administration and the Putin government. 

Islamic Terror Problem for Russia
Moscow is also considering the threat Islamism poses to Russia’s security in the North Caucuses and beyond. The Chechen Muslims (having had two relatively recent wars with Russia) have established links with global Islamic terrorist groups, operating within and outside of the Russian Federation. Iran and Turkey’s Islamic empires were historic enemies of the Russian empire. Israel shares intelligence with Russia on Islamic terrorist activities.

Israel Seeks Strong Friendly Relationship
Jerusalem seeks to restore its understanding with Moscow maintaining a strong and friendly relationship with the Kremlin. Unlike the U.S., where the legislative and executive branches of government by-and-large support the Jewish state as well as the majority of Americans, Israel's relations with Russia hinges on who sits in the Kremlin; currently both parties are interested in maintaining cooperation.  Netanyahu is likely to prevail upon Putin to allow Israel to continue its operations against Iranian entrenchment in Syria and Hezbollah in Lebanon because both deliver lethal arms to the region threatening the Jewish state.

Problems between Israel and Russia might arise however, when Israeli stealth fighters inadvertently destroy the Russian installed S-300 air-defense missiles.

When the United States became a nation, we see by reading the Declaration of Independence, the founders mantra was "No King but Jesus." In our form of government, we the people have the say over who rules us. To passively submit to evil rulers, especially in this nation where God blessed us with the freedom to choose, is beyond the bounds of God-given common sense and self-preservation.

Many will say that Christians should not concern themselves with earthly kingdoms, but only be concerned about the kingdom of God. I don’t view it as “either/or,” but rather “both/and.”

In Romans 12:21 we are charged: "be not overcome of evil, but to overcome evil with good." Perhaps the best way to begin overcoming evil in high places is by cleansing our church pulpits of those who condone it. In 1 Peter 2:13-17 it says to 'submit to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake..." - voting is an ordinance of man. We should be informed and vote.

10-16-18, * -- We came into this world when our mother physically gave birth to us. This physical birth is what Jesus called being born of water in John 3:5 and flesh giving birth to flesh in John 3:6. It was our first birth.
 
Once we become capable of understanding the sin issue, God began holding us accountable for our sins [usually around age 12]. At that point, we no longer belonged to Him and have eternal life as our sins separated us from Him. In Romans 7:9 the apostle Paul wrote: "Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died" that means that as soon as Paul became old enough to be accountable for his sins he was immediately scheduled for death, death being the wages of sin (Romans 6:23).
 
Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:3).

Too often the important fundamental issue of salvation ... being born again... is not taught as the concept is frequently scoffed and scorned; some laughingly call us 'born aginners'  - following are important points:

1. When or if young innocent children die, they will immediately go to be with God entering the kingdom of heaven because they don't have to change from a sinner to do so; they are still innocent [the practice of baptism of infants is false teaching].
2. People over age of ‘accountability’ must change: repenting of sin Luke 13:3, trusting Jesus and become like innocent children to enter heaven (John 1:12-13) becoming born again. At that time, the penalty for all our sins is transferred to Jesus (Isaiah 53:5) and we're no longer responsible for them.
3. Born again people are God's children; He has made us His heir. (Galatians 4:4-7) God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so we could receive the right of adoption into His family.  

Are You Born Again? God’s word is very clear:

• Jesus said we must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God (John 3:3, 7).
• we become born again by believing, that we are sinners in need of repentance and that Jesus is the virgin born Savior Who came to die for our sins and that He rose again on the third day as proof that His death was sufficient to save us from our sins. We vow and strive to sin no more.

​In God’s sight, by becoming born again; we have become like little children and are therefore innocent, sinless and qualified to enter His Kingdom and enjoy eternal life with Him. Hallelujah!

California: L.A. typhus outbreak adds fuel to the debates over illegal homeless migrants ... 
10-11-18, LATimes -- Since July 2018 there have been nine cases of typhus in downtown Los Angeles, six of which infected homeless people, prompting health officials last week to declare an outbreak. There have also been 20 cases in Pasadena, far more than the five typically seen annually. One diagnosis ... the patient was homeless, a clue to doctors that he might have typhus. Typhus is commonly associated with poor hygiene, overcrowding and flea feces. ... In 2015 California's last outbreak, a single opossum captured in a mobile home park in Pomona had 1,087 fleas on it. Of the tested fleas three-fifths from the cats and opossums that were trapped were positive for typhus. The answer is not just to shake typhus fleas from wildlife, but shake the poor hygiene habits we may have. Of the 945 typhus cases in California since 2001, 726 have been in Los Angeles County.

California Typhus Outbreak Continues to Grow - webmd.com
The typhus involved in the L.A. outbreak is known as murine typhus and can spread to people from infected feces of fleas that has bacteria called Rickettsia typhi. The CDC says most people will recover without treatment, but some cases may be severe. If left untreated, severe cases can lead to damage in the liver, kidneys, lungs, and brain. The treatment is a 7- to 10-day course of antibiotics, usually doxycycline.

Nicotinic receptors also respond to drugs, including the nicotinic receptor agonist nicotine. They are found in the central and peripheral nervous system, muscle, and many other tissues of many organisms, including humans.

He also noted the Saudi king strongly & flatly denied knowledge, while suggesting the possibility of outside involvement. "Maybe these could have been rogue killers -- who knows."

During the White House visit, Pastor Brunson thanked everyone who helped him also mentioned there are many more American prisoners in Turkey. Then he knelt placed his hand on President Trump's shoulder and prayed for him closing 'in Jesus name.' Was wonderful.

10-13-18, Archives of Oswald Chambers -- Moses saw the oppression of his people and felt certain that he was the one to deliver them and in righteous indignation of his own spirit he started to right their wrongs.

However, after he launched his first strike for God and for what he thought was right, God allowed Moses to be driven into empty discouragement, sending him for forty years into the desert to feed sheep. At the end of that time, God appeared to Moses and said to him, “ ‘…bring My people…out of Egypt.’

Moses said to God, ‘Who am I that I should go…?’ ” (Exodus 3:10-11).

In the beginning, Moses tried to deliver the people, but he had to be trained and disciplined by God first. He was right in his individual perspective, but he was not prepared for the work until he had learned that God was in control.

We may have the vision of God and a very clear understanding of what God wants, and yet when we start to do it, there comes to us something equivalent to Moses’ forty years with the furry sheep in wilderness. That prepared him for the years with the whining Hebrews! While we suffer our discouragement, we may think God has ignored the entire thing, but then God comes and revives us to His call.

Then we too tremble and say, “Who am I that I should go…?” We must learn that the command is summed up in these words— “I AM WHO I AM…has sent me to you” (Exodus 3:14).

 If you are going through a time of discouragement, there is a time of great personal growth ahead while we hope that He may be “well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). Source
