9-8-22, The Lord Jesus told Nicodemus that he shouldn't marvel that He said all must be born again to see the kingdom of heaven. There is a special application to the present case of regeneration in so far as they were children according to the flesh, the law as of all human nature, was that flesh ruled the spirit and the whole natural man was carnal, bringing forth the fruits of the sinful flesh; for all have sinned [Romans 3:23] - 'if you say you haven't sinned - you lie.' [1 John 2:4]
The law of the regenerate nature is that the human soul reborn by the influence of almighty God's Spirit; it's an absolute necessity - we must be born anew. John 3:3, 7

9-7-22, When is it permissible to tell a lie? We see at least three instances in the Bible where lying produced a favorable result; it was the only possible way to prevent a horrible evil and was the acceptable thing to do. However, God’s ninth commandment prohibits bearing false witness (Exodus 20:16). There are many examples of wicked liars in Scripture who did not lie for the greater good; we see that evil falsehoods leads to misery, loss and judgment. However, for Hebrew midwives, Rahab & King Jehu it was acceptable. Exodus 1:15-21; Joshua 2:4; 2 Kings 10:18-36
9-6-22, No doubt there's something startling in the trivial character of Elisha's Axe head miracle, [2 Kings 6:1-7] and of the few others which resemble it. However, as we know very little as to the laws which govern the exercise of miraculous powers, it's possible that they may be so much under their possessor's control that he can exercise them, or not, at his own pleasure. And it may also depend on his discretion whether they are exercised in important cases only, or in trivial cases as well. Evidently Elisha had great kindness of heart; he could not see a grief without wishing to remedy it. And it seems as if he had sometimes used his miraculous power in pure good nature, when no natural way of remedying an evil presented itself. Even to the recovery of a simple iron head of an axe. -- Barnes Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/barnes/2_kings/6.htm
The Lord's Anger: |
9-5-22, Should we believe the Lord Jesus is a “forgive and forget” type of Messiah that was always ready to turn the other cheek when people sinned (Matthew 5:38-40)? Or do we understand that His words about obedience; “turn or burn” (Matthew 23:33; Luke 13:3) were serious? Jesus came bringing a message of love, grace and forgiveness to the obedient repentant sinner and punishment to the rebellious blaspheming non-believer [Matthew 3:3; Luke 13:3]. | The Lord was angry many times over blaspheming, murder, hypocrisy, idolatry, greed and disobedience. He said if you love Me, obey Me. John 14:15. See also: Ephesians 4:26; John 2:13-22; Matthew 21:12-17; Mark 11:15-19; Luke 19:45-48; Matthew 22: 15:45, 23:1-4, 13; Matthew 25:31-46 |

Well, in many places in God's word, it speaks of the two sexes: Male & Female [Genesis 5:2; Mark 10:6]. The Lord Jesus spoke of marriage between man and wife [Matthew 19:5].
Another aspect of the two varieties of humans is the 'equipment' God gave us; they're different. Six places God says about men: 'who pisseth against the wall' [women can't do that].

9-1-22, While the Prophet Elijah alone was dealing with the devil worshiping Ahab, Jezebel with their 450 Baal following priests - God told him not to fear and go see Ahab. So Elijah, determined to PROVE to them WHO God really was and to honor and trust HIM alone, ordered fires be built for a test asking the Baal priests to call down fire from their god. They put on meat, wood etc; but no matter how hard they prayed, screamed, cried and cut themselves - Baal would not make a fire. Elijah's turn ... he not only put on meat, wood, stones, made a trench - he also poured on three jugs of water over the whole thing. | THEN he prayed: "LORD God of Abraham, Isaac and of Israel, let it be known this day that Thou art God in Israel, that I am Thy servant and that I have done all these things at Thy word. Hear me, O LORD." Immediately the fire of the LORD fell consuming the burnt sacrifice, the wood, the stones, the dust and licked up the water that was in the trench! 1 Kings 18:22-38; Numbers 16:34 -- Benson Commentary, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/benson/1_kings/18.htm |

8-28-22, King Solomon wrote and asked King Hiram of Tyre, Lebanon [1] for help building God's House. [The ancient city of Tyre is 104 miles from Jerusalem, Israel] Hiram loved Solomon's father David and willingly provided the necessary timber [2] of Cedar and Fir to build the first temple in Jerusalem. Solomon sent workers and food to Lebanon for the project and Hiram floated the logs to Israel in the Mediterranean Sea. It took seven years to build the first temple. 1 Kings 5:1-18, 6:1-38, 2 Samuel 7:12; 1 Chronicles 28:2-7 There were two temples built in Jerusalem; both were destroyed by enemies of the Jews. What the Bible says about Solomon's Idolatry
God was not well pleased with Solomon as he was influenced by his many foreign wives and concubines, Solomon became enmeshed in pagan worship. Failing to heed God's warning of the "snare" which foreign wives would become (Exodus 34:11-16), he allowed his wives to turn him to false gods. I Kings 11:4 sums up the matter of his turpitude: Solomon's "heart was not loyal to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David." 1 Kings 11:6-10
"Peace, peace; when there is no peace."

The free will of wicked mankind prevents peace.
8-25-22, The devotion of this mother, Rizpah for her two dead sons, Armoni and Miphiboseth is heart wrenching. They were sacrificed along with five others to assuage the ill feelings of the tribe of Gibeon who was sorely abused by King Saul; and the Lord punished the Hebrews with a famine. King David agreed to sacrifice seven of Saul's offspring in an attempt to make amends with the Gibeonites. The seven were executed and hung with no speedy burial as is the tradition [Deuteronomy 21:23]. | Therefore, Rizpah stood by the boys dead bodies chasing away scavenger birds for 5-6 months until David interceded and had them buried. [2 Samuel 21:8-10, 11-14] This event wasn't punishing the children for the sins of their father, Saul - but to appease the persecuted. Children are not punished for the sins of their parents; neither are parents punished for the sins of their children; each of us is responsible for our own sins. Wormwood & Gall
The Lord said, “Because they [Hebrews] have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice … Behold, I will feed them, this people, with wormwood and give them water of gall to drink.” [1]
8-24-22, * -- The grieving described in Jeremiah 9:13-15 could also reflect today's America. When the federal government uses policing powers for political purposes, no one in the land of Liberty is safe. And because of this nation’s spiritual condition, it’s akin to being fed a diet of wormwood and gall. [1] It’s time for all Americans to get right with God. We’re living in a time where the evil usurpers of the laws of God are using accusations and sensation in the absence of any fact to undermine what is meant for right and good. The Constitution of the United States established on the premise of inalienable rights given by God the Creator. Rights are not granted by government; they’re embedded in the precepts of God Almighty and bestowed upon His creation. Governments are supposed to be a terror to evil as described in Romans 13:3. When governments are against God, we must respond as did Peter in Acts 5:29 by saying, “We must obey God rather than man.” If we’re led by the Holy Spirit we will act according to our Godly gifts. | A nation can be changed; darkness can be eliminated by the Light = THE SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. 2 Corinthians 4:6 [..] Each of us must repent [Luke 13:3] turning to God and stand — oh yes, we must now stand otherwise suffer a steady diet of wormwood and gall! [1] Wormwood is a bitter herb known for being an ingredient in absinthe [liqueur]. Its plant compound thujone can be toxic and even fatal in large amounts. Gall is a bitter-tasting substance made of a plant such as wormwood or myrrh. *Excerpted and adapted full original message from Bill Wilson, Daily Jot, here https://dailyjot.com/ Jeremiah 3:19-22, 25, 40, 59 My soul remembers my affliction and misery; the wormwood and gall - and has humbled in me. I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It’s of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. The LORD is good unto them that wait for Him; to the soul that seek after Him. Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge Thou my cause. |

8-22-22, King David took the crown of the wicked king of Moab, Milcom - it weighed a talent of gold [between 67 - 75 lbs - some say over 100 lbs]. Many artifact experts and historians state crowns of Eastern kings; like the crown at Rabbah wasn’t worn on the head, but suspended by chains of gold above the throne. There are many archaeological remains from that period; King Saul is described as being remarkably tall - but David is never described that way - yet he had the crown upon his head. | Chronicles 20:2 “David took the crown of their king from off his head; it weighed a talent of gold and there were precious stones in it and it was set upon David's head." The 1997 Guiness’ Book of Records reports, with a photo of John Evans of the UK balancing 416 lbs. of bricks on his head, here: https://bit.ly/3AHZbEN . So we can easily accept that King David was strong enough to accept a crown weighing about 75 pounds. 2 Samuel 12:30; 2 Kings 23:13 More here -- Jamieson Fausset, https://biblehub.com/commentaries/jfb/1_chronicles/20.htm |
8-21-22, God said: “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit: and it was so.” Genesis 1:11 There are thirtyseven trees mentioned in the Holy Bible; here are ten:
| Note: Many of the trees of the Bible are used symbolically. As example the cypress tree is one of the tallest trees in the Holy Land of Israel and is often associated with death and the hope of heaven. It's often used to praise divine Wisdom: I was established in the holy city and my power was in Jerusalem; I took root in an honorable people and in the portion of my God His inheritance and my abode is in the full assembly of His saints. I was exalted like a cedar on mount Sion and as a rose plant in Jericho: As a fair olive tree in the plains and as a sycamore tree by the water was I exalted. -- [Paraphase taken from Ecclesiastes and Jeremiah] http://www.euxton.com/treebibl.htm |

8-19-22, The Hebrews were very afraid of the Philistine monster, Goliath. While the young shepherd boy, David was not, he said: 'I killed a lion and a bear, [1 Sam 17:34-37] I can, by God's power, kill this Philistine!' The boy challenged the huge man with only a pouch of five stones. David said to the Goliath: "Thou come to me with sword, spear and shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee and take thine head!" | Then David threw one stone hitting the giant in the forehead & killing him. Goliath fell on his face & David having no sword - climbed on top of him, taking HIS sword & cut off his head. [1 Sam 17:51] Arrogance & presumption of fools destroy them; nothing can excel the humility, faith & piety which appear in David's words. He expressed his assured expectation of success; he gloried in his youth, small stature, appearance & lack of weapons that the victory would be ascribed to the Lord alone. 1 Samuel 17:1-51 "With us is the LORD our God to help us, & to fight our battles." 2 Chronicles 32:8 |
He let Saul know that his pretended confession and repentance had made no alteration in the decree and sentence of God respecting the kingdom. He wasn't satisfied with Saul's repentance and confession as he tried to lay the blame on the people. This he said by way of resentment and expressed his indignation at him, although afterwards he changed his mind returning with him; which a good man may be allowed to do without any imputation of falsehood or a lie.

Who will deny that the USA has and is doing wickedly while blaspheming and scorning the Lord God almighty?
Is God in the process of 'consuming' America? Clearly it's long over due.
Why do we think that, although God punished the past wicked idol worshipers; He won't punish the future wicked?
Yes, the Lord Jesus came to save those who repent and trust Him as Savior [John 3:3, 7, 14:6] - but the scorners are not. More from Matthew Henry here: https://biblehub.com/commentaries/mhc/1_samuel/12.htm
