Turkey's Involvement

12-17-24, Memri* -- Currently, as of 12-8-24. Assad is gone [Syria has had independence since 1946 and been a dictatorship]. However, nothing is really new now that apparently Sunni Islamic Turkey has implemented the new terror group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham [HTS] leader Ahmed Al-Shar'a (Abu Muhammad Al-Joulani) to take over. Syria is a safe haven for regional and global Islamic terrorism; it's a fractured country ruled by Islamic warlords. The new Syrian regime will likely have relations with former Assad stalwarts Iran [Persia] and Russia similar in manner as Ankara, Turkey and Doha, Qatar.
The emergence of the Islamic Syria’s new HTS has two powerful patrons: Sunni Turkey and Sunni Qatar [1]. Qatar brings cash and Turkey brings abilities – they are a raw military power and have been relatively successful at playing the West [USA]. The new leader of Syria - 42-year-old Ahmed Al-Shar'a - in 60+ years has easily becomes Syria's first Sunni Muslim, non-Baathist =>

He already controls the country's new military, the former Syrian Islamist rebels where all non-Sunni Muslims [Shiites] who are in an inferior position - however also true in Turkey and Qatar. The new regime will probably be hostile toward the Jews of Israel and the Christians of the United States - but pragmatic - very much in the manner of Islamic terrorists in Gaza = “Hamas.” HTS may want to display the appearance of peaceful co-existence to satisfy an easily distracted international community [the USA] already overburdened by multiple global, regional, and internal crises elsewhere.

12-17-24, * -- The Sunni and Shiite Muslims hate each other, at least in the enclave of hierarchy leadership; and they both hate Jews and possibly Christians more than they hate each other. Since the Islamic terror invasion of Israel on 10-7-23 the Islamic Shiites of Iran [formerly Persia] have been able to cobble together a loose alliance of various factions of Sunni & Shiite Islamic terrorists to attack the Jews as evidenced by Gaza’s “Hamas” and Lebanon’s Islamic terror group, “Hezbollah” current war.
Sunni Turkey has supported the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) revolt vs Syria causing Iran’s support of Asaad to be severely limited because Israel had weakened Hezbollah [proxy of Iran] and it wasn’t able to prop up Asaad. This situation may well have deep prophetic implications in the Bible’s Old Testament, Isaiah 17:1 “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.” [..] Also, Ezekiel 38 prophesies that Gog, of Magog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, =>

<= leads a coalition of Persia (Iran), Ethiopia and Libya against Israel in a colossal end time battle, which the LORD Himself defeats. [Magog, Meshech and Tubal are all located in Turkey.]

For Turkey to lead a military assault - as described in Ezekiel, Iran must fall into some sort of submission to Turkey. Shiite Iran has been working extremely hard to establish hegemony in the Middle East, especially when it comes to annihilation of Israel. Turkey has supported the HTS alliance in the overthrow of Syria’s Asaad. Turkey has made a prophetic move in Syria that may have a long-term impact of Iran falling as an eventual ally to Gog as the prophecy clock moves forward [maybe even the catalyst to the prophetic war between the Ram & the Goat, Daniel 8-11 -- Ed].
