Scripture for Today, 10-31-25: Why Jesus Suffered the Cross

10-31-25, In Jerusalem, the Savior & Lord Jesus Christ lived, died & arose from death. He was nailed to a cross & because of His perfect sinless life & shed blood He fulfilled the prophecy of Psalm 22:16 : "For dogs surround me; a band of evil men encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet [a crown of thorns on His head Matthew 27:29]." As He hung on the cross He plead for forgiveness for His executioners. (Luke 23:34). His words reflect His divine compassion & the purpose of His sacrifice that only repentant sinners trusting Christ can be saved from eternal punishment.

✝️ 6-8-20, Jesus is God; He came to save sinners. “For He [Jesus] Whom God sent speaks the words of God: The Father loves the Son & has given all things into His hand. He that believs on the Son hath everlasting life & they that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on them.” John 3:34-36
