3-12-25, The Bible has much to say about men with beards and those who've been forced to shave. Those disgraced or humbled or abused are shaven. Beards were and are often seen as a symbol of masculinity, wisdom and authority. Asians regard the beard with peculiar veneration; to cut one's beard off is the greatest mark of sorrow and mortification. It's understood that the scripture in Isaiah about plucking out the beard - is speaking of the Messiah Jesus Christ.
