Where Is the Bible Banned in the United States?
7-2-26, Civil Rights Law -- Some USA school libraries have faced restrictions on having the Holy Bible - also prisons and other public spaces. However, no government in the United States has banned the Bible. The First Amendment makes any blanket prohibition on a religious text unconstitutional and that protection applies at every level of government. The highly publicized outrageous decision to remove the Bible from their school libraries was in Utah; but on June 20, 2023 the Davis School District’s board unanimously voted to return the Bible to all library shelves at every grade level. This also happened in Florida; it was also reversed. === California 7 yr old male student warned not to hand out Bible notes - police was called [Here] [Note: old report - but is it still happening??] During Democrat Obama's term on 6-6-2016 the Desert Rose Elementary School in Palmdale, California called POLICE on a 7-yr-old boy for sharing Bible Verses - warning him that such action are “offensive.” The boy had been distributing Bible verses while standing on a public sidewalks outside the school. A first-grade teacher saw one of the notes & publicly rebuked the him, called his parents and police. The teacher warned them that such actions go against the separation of church and state. Regardless, the boy continued to distribute Bible verses out at the school gate; subsequently he and his parents were told by the school’s principal that what they were doing is not permitted and a Los Angeles deputy sheriff went to the family’s home to inform the parents that the school had filed a report against the child for sharing Bible verses. The superintendent, Raul Maldonado of this school said: “I am very concerned about this incident and I have directed that a speedy investigation be conducted, and I can assure you that all appropriate action will be taken once the facts are known.” Liberty Counsel, a conservative legal firm, demanding that the school “correct an outrageous violation” of the “first grader’s constitutional rights.” https://legalclarity.org/where-is-the-bible-banned-in-the-united-states/ Update school apologizes here: www.smobserved.com/story/2016/08/22/schools/school-apologizes-for-calling-sheriff-to-censor-7-year-old-from-handing-out-bible-verses/1772.html#google_vignette Comments are closed.
