After the Supreme Court Rules Affirmative Actions Is Unconstitutional |
6-30-23, ANP* -- On Thursday, June 29, 2023, the US Supreme Court ruled that “affirmative action” [1] for college-based admissions was unconstitutional. In 1965, by executive order #11246, affirmative action was initiated by Democrat President Lyndon Johnson (1963–69) for the stated purpose to improve opportunities for minorities while the 1964 civil rights legislation [2] was already dismantling the legal basis for discrimination. Businesses receiving federal funds were prohibited from using aptitude tests and other criteria that was said to discriminate against African Americans. Subsequently, affirmative action was broadened to cover colleges, universities, state and federal agencies. Clearly it was reverse discrimination. | Following are a few of the most egregious reactions to SCOTUS’ ruling: • Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) called the court’s ruling “a giant roadblock in our country’s march toward racial justice.” • Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) had some stronger words, calling the court’s decision “just the latest in the white supremacist assault on equity in education.” • Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), also a member of the Judiciary Committee. “Once again, this extreme Supreme Court has taken our country backwards.” |
This entire saga has shown us how "baked in" racism is to the Democrat party. This doesn't mean some conservatives aren't racist, but they are the fringe and do not represent the Republican party as a whole. For the Democrats to rage against the Supreme Court for daring to strike down a law where men and women are not judged by merit, intelligence and ability - rather than the color of their skin - and worse yet not treating black people as if they aren't smart enough to succeed on their own - should be considered outrageous by any thinking person.
