3-19-19, Archives Oswald Chambers -- At the beginning of our born again (John 3:3, 7) life with Jesus Christ, we were sure we knew all there was to know about following Him. It was a delight to forsake everything else and to throw ourselves before Him in a fearless statement of love. However, as we mature and learn more about the Lord, we are not quite so sure. Jesus is far ahead of us — “Jesus was going before them; and they were amazed.” (Mark 10:32)

There is an aspect of Jesus that chills even a disciple’s heart to its depth making them almost gasp for air. This unusual Person with His face set “like a flint” (Isaiah 50:7) is walking with great determination ahead of me. He no longer seems to be my Counselor and Friend and has a point of view about which I know nothing. All I can do is stand and stare at Him in amazement.

Jesus Christ had to understand fully every sin and sorrow that we human beings could experience; and that's what makes Him seem unfamiliar. When we see this aspect of Him, we realize we really couldn't 'know' Him as He suffered on our behalf. He is far ahead of us; He is God.

The discipline of dismay is an essential lesson which a disciple must learn. The danger is that we tend to look back on our times of obedience and on our past sacrifices to God thinking how strong we are (see Isaiah 50:10-11). However, when the darkness of dismay comes, we will endure til the end as out of it comes the ability to truly follow Jesus bringing inexpressible joy. Source

Christian Churches Have Some Mean Members

12-8-15, Chuck Lawless [excerpted] -- To be honest, I've been blessed. In all the churches I've served as pastor or interim pastor as most of my members have been great people. Sometimes, though, a church member can be downright mean. Seven reasons church members can be less than helpful and loving as the Lord Jesus intended:

They're still people. Even saved people sometimes act like sinners when the right button gets pushed. Some have anger issues. Ephesians 4:26
Many are undiscipled. Too many churches bring people into the local congregation, but then do nothing to disciple/teach them. The new believers remain babies in Christ, even when they've been in the church for years. Usually, they whine a lot. 1 Peter 2:2
Some are carrying burdens alone. Sometimes the anguish of life weighs so heavy on us that our tempers are short and our words are volatile. Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 4:2; 1 Peter 3:8
Some have maintained their control over the church by their meanness. Over the years, their rude and unkind behavior has caused others to just give up and let them have their way. Proverbs 29:2; Hebrews 13:17
Some were given authority far too early. When our churches give positions to those who haven't yet grown (and many churches grant positions on the basis of years in the church rather than on maturity in the faith), we shouldn't be surprised when those leaders fight to protect their power. Proverbs 16:12; Acts 20:28
Some are living in sin. For anyone who is a true believer, the conviction of sin cuts deeply, but that doesn't always result in immediate repentance. Church members who remain in their sin for any length of time sometimes turn their conviction on others. John 5:38-44; James 1:26
Some are non-believers. Even Jesus had one in His immediate group of 12 who was never a believer [Judas Iscariot], and I doubt our churches will do better than Jesus did. Lost people without the born again Spirit filled life will eventually act like lost people. Matthew 26:14; Hebrews 6:1-6, 10:26-32 Source

3-9-19, Eric C. Redmond -- Mike Hodge spent years raising and training lions at the Marakele Predator Center in South Africa. In 2018 and without warning, he was attacked by a lion named Shamba* that he had raised bottle-feeding as a cub. Shamba dragged Hodge into the bush, but miraculously was saved by a gun shot from fellow trainer. His injuries were few a broken bones and lacerations. The attack was a sobering reminder that even trained big cats are still natural predators and not domesticated pets.

Scripture says that Satan is like a roaring lion that seeks to devour us (1 Peter 5:8). When all seems to be going well—our family life is stable, our ministry is successful, we are enjoying peace and prosperity — we think we can let down our vigilance against temptation. We loosen our dependency on Christ and before long, we have been mauled.

In the Old Testament we read about just such an event by King Rehoboam [the son of Solomon] who had led Judah to be strong and his rule was established (2 Chronicles 12:1). He got a little cocky thinking he could abandoned the law of the Lord and dragged all of Israel with him.

Matthew Henry notes, “As long as [Rehoboam] thought his throne tottered he kept to his duty, that he might make God his friend; but, when he found it stood pretty firmly, he thought he had no more occasion for religion; he was safe enough without it.”

Thank goodness for the king's right hand man and prophet Shemaiah who reminded him that he had forsaken God ... oh yeah!

When the king and his princes realized their huge mistake and heartfelt repentance, they humbled themselves. (2 Chronicles 12:5-8) The full wrath of God was averted as their repentance caused God to grant His forgiveness and mercy. [that time]

Later unfortunately, King Rehoboam persisted in evil. He appeared to think that God was a convenient resource for rescue, but not sovereign over all life who requires obedience. The final verdict on Rehoboam’s reign was that, unlike his grandfather David, “he had not set his heart on seeking the Lord” (2 Chronicles 12:14). Source

Apparently the Democrat strategists are out to lunch, or maybe the Left really is this shameless; interesting to wonder how some of these politicians standing on debate platforms in 2020 will tell the American people about protecting living things:

Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), is the sponsor; here he is, arguing that America "must stop killing kittens!" When only three weeks ago, he stood in the U.S. Capitol agreeing with 43 other Democrats that human beings should be put down he said:

"The USDA's decision to slaughter kittens [2000/year?] after they are used in research is an archaic practice and horrific treatment, and we need to end it." What passion!

The United States of America slaughters hundreds of thousands human babies annually and now it's legal if they are outside the womb breathing. Makes me sick!

In the last two years there has been a rash of statue toppling throughout the American South, aimed at wiping out memorialization of Confederate heroes. The pretense is that the Civil War can only be regarded as tragic in terms of the present oppression of the descendants of Southern slaves --154 years after the extinction of the Confederate states. The statue of Robert E. Lee was removed after it was vandalized at Duke University.

The subtext of most current name changing and icon toppling is that particular victimized groups blame their current plight on the past. They assume that by destroying long-dead supposed enemies, they will be liberated -- or at least feel better in the present.

In 2015, Islamic terror group ISIS militants entered a museum in Mosul, Iraq, and destroyed ancient, pre-Islamic statues and idols. In 2001, the primeval Islamic terror group the Taliban blew up two ancient Buddha statues in Afghanistan. Their mute crimes? However, throughout scripture God comforts us with these words "do not fear, fret not thyself of evildoers and do not be envious of those that daily works evil deeds" for God already knows who they are and He has a plan for them too.

God promises His children that there's coming one glorious day when we'll look for those that willfully do evil and we'll not be able to find them. [1 Corinthians 6:9]

Regardless of how foolish or naive we may look to the enemy, stand firm people of God!

We are commanded to trust God and do good, [Luke 6:33] commit your way unto the Lord, rest and wait patiently for Him. The enemy of our mind (doubt and fear) wants us to believe that evil is winning; it's not.

They conveniently do not report that Brenton’s own 1,500-page manifesto, that has – so far – been well scrubbed from the web -- tells a much different story. Omitted is what the Australian self-described “eco-fascist by nature” said. He's more aligned with liberal Democrats than conservative Republicans; in his ramblings in response to a question he apparently posed to himself: Do I support President Trump?

“As a policy maker and leader? Dear god no!”

Clearly he wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a MAGA (Make America Great Again) hat. His diary reveals that he’s anything but a conservative, and is actually more aligned with radical domestic terrorist groups like the fascist group Antifa. The shooter - in this case - has light skin and doesn’t claim that Allah is God so the fake news outlets are having a heyday branding him with all sorts of anti-white, anti-Trump stereotypes in an attempt to foment more Leftist rage against Caucasians, while simultaneously fueling anti-Second Amendment sentiments.

It’s like clockwork how the left immediately exploits tragedy and horror as a tool to bludgeon their opposition and critics and promote their agenda. The dead and dying have not even been moved from the scene before they start in with their hateful ideological harangue. 3-14-19, Albuquerque Journal – Democrat woman Sen. Linda Lopez of Albuquerque presented a bill to remove an old 1969 anti-abortion law from New Mexico’s books. Both parties Dems & Reps voted it down although it was backed by new Democrat woman Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. It failed on a 24-18 vote. Eight Democrats joined all 16 Republicans in voting against it. The House Bill 51, sought to repeal a law that makes it a crime to kill a woman's unborn child, except in certain circumstances, such as rape. It is currently unenforceable because of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, however Democrats fear the court will revisit the landmark abortion decision. The law left in place says people who object on moral grounds can’t be forced to participate in an abortion. Supporters of the legislation had argued the “conscience” clause was redundant and not actually needed to ensure people don’t have to participate. That issue didn’t surface during Thursday’s floor debate. More here

ISRAEL & WEST IMAGES VIEW SUSPICIOUS STRUCTURES IN SYRIA VIA SATELLITE

3-13-19, YNET Israel News -- Satellite images taken by Israeli intelligence firm ISI on Tuesday, 3/12/19 apparently confirm suspicions that a missile factory is being constructed in the Syrian town of Safita, east of Tartus on the Mediterranean coast.The images show a secured site surrounded by a fence, vehicles, three hangars and a newly built water tower. The building components and patterns of activity in and around the compound strengthen the probability that this is a missile assembly plant. It is however not possible to determine with certainty whether this is an Iranian site.

In October 2018 Fox News reported a dirt area about 500 meters from the site, marks on the ground, apparently created by heavy vehicles. The tire prints are not related to the activity of quarries operating in the area. Western intelligence agencies believe that Iran transferred to the Lebanon Islamic terror group, Hezbollah technology to improve the precision of missiles, a matter which Israel views gravely.

Comparison to Iran site: These findings prove that the compound is already active and is in development stages. However, it appears that the site does not produce missile engines and warheads, since no protected structures were identified in the compound. The same building patterns seen at the site are seen in other sites with an identical purpose, such as the missile manufacturing plant in the city of Khojir in Iran. The compound contains three main hangars, which resemble large industrial structures. It is possible that two of them are used for production lines and the third is intended for the assembly of the missiles.

5-25-18, Henry Morris, PhD -- The absolute holiness of God is emphasized throughout the book of Leviticus, and this is the standard for all those created in His image. This is made clear, beyond question, when today’s verse is quoted in the New Testament: “But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, the man that doeth them shall live in them.” (Galatians 3:11-12; Luke 10:28)

It is not enough that a man keep most of God’s laws. “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10) “Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.” (Galatians 3:10)

It is obvious, therefore, that while “the law is holy, and the commandment holy, just and good” (Romans 7:12), no human being (except Jesus Christ) has ever been able to keep God’s perfect law, and all are therefore under God’s condemnation. “Therefore, by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” (Romans 3:20)

The widespread delusion that a person can be saved by good works is dangerous, and many are on the road to hell smug in their supposed goodness. To keep the law, however, the Creator Himself had to become man and He did fulfill the law as our representative before God. Then, when He died, Christ “redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us.” (Galatians 3:13)

Israel is also the one and only Jewish state, with a Star of David on our flag, Hatikvah our national anthem, Hebrew our official language and where a Law of Return gives every Jew around the world the right to return to our ancestral homeland.

"I would like to clarify a point that, apparently, is not clear to slightly confused people in the Israeli public. Israel is a Jewish, democratic state. This means that it is the national state of the Jewish people alone. Of course it respects the individual rights of all its citizens – Jews and non-Jews alike, but it is the national state, not of all its citizens, but only of the Jewish people. Other peoples, other nationalities and other minorities – have national representation in other states. The national representation of the Jewish people is in the State of Israel. Earlier on Tuesday, a spokesman for the Turkish President ignoring what PM Netanyahu said tweeted, “Netanyahu says that Israel is ‘a nation state not of all its citizens, but only of the Jewish people’. I strongly condemn this blatant racism and discrimination. 1.6 million Arabs/Muslims live in Israel. Will the Western governments react or keep silent under pressure again?”

Erdogan regularly criticizes and attacks Israel, despite the facts that the two countries signed a comprehensive reconciliation deal in 2016, ending a six-year diplomatic standoff following a violent encounter between Israeli soldiers and Islamist radicals on a ship attempting to break through the security blockade on Gaza. In the past, the Turkish President has accused Israel of being a “terrorist state”, and called Netanyahu a “terrorist”, after IDF forces opened fire on infiltrators during a Hamas-led confrontation on the Israel-Gaza border. Last December, Erdogan’s spokesman demanded that Israel “end the lawless occupation of Palestinian lands,” accusing the Jewish state of “brutal oppression of Palestinian people”.

Netanyahu responded by lambasting Turkey’s policies towards its Turkish minority, adding that under Erdogan, Turkey appeared to be becoming “more dictatorial day by day.” More here

3-13-19, JewishVoice.com – Following is a new report that has emerged on the details of U.S. President Donald Trump’s [Jared Kushner’s] Israeli-Palestinian peace plan. [No source has been identified of these details.] Indeed, this peace plan - in essence - divides Jerusalem and changes its borders. The official plan will be made public soon after the Knesset April 9, 2019 election.
Portions and ideas from the plan have been presented to Israel, the Palestinians, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt; apparently the Palestinians have rejected it outright.

Certain northern sections of the current Jerusalem municipal boundaries, captured by Israel in the 1967 war, but where an Arab village and refugee camp are located, would be transferred to a Palestinian State, along with Arab neighborhoods in southern Jerusalem captured in the same war.
At the first stage of implementation, Israel would maintain “broad security powers” in the areas handed over to the Palestinians, adding that 85% of Judea and Samaria would be included in the Palestinian State.
The U.S. administration distinguishes between the areas of “former Jordanian Jerusalem” before the ’67 war, which includes the Old City and adjacent neighborhoods and a far larger swath of territory that Israel annexed into its capital after the war; but had not been included within the municipal lines before that point.
The Old City and adjacent areas, including the Mount of Olives, would remain under Israeli sovereignty.
Some of the outlying Arab neighborhoods, that became part of Jerusalem only after the ’67 conflict, would be included in the Palestinian State.
The Western Wall would remain under exclusive Israeli control.
Temple Mount, the Americans wish to consider the establishment of a joint inter-Arab religious administration which would include other states, in addition to Jordan which currently serves as patron of the Muslim holy sites; working in tandem with Israel and would remain under Israeli sovereignty.
A safe passage route would be set up between the “Palestinian” part of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.

In accordance with the covenant made with Abraham [in Bible's Old Testament], we ask that you pray in one accord that this attempt to divide Jerusalem and sacrifice more Israeli land is a failure.

By God's grace, President Trump has accomplished many of his campaign promises exceeding expectations and broken historical records in creating jobs, cutting regulations, pulling out of bad trade agreements and many more commendable achievements. Moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and his favorable treatment of the “faith community” has been genuinely refreshing and a much needed reprieve from all previous administrations. However, this plan for the Jewish State is not in Israel’s best interests.

Of the estimated 12 million Muslims ... descendants of Ishmael [aka Palestinians] in the world, 4 million are in Judea & Samaria [aka the West Bank], Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem. Clearly there is sufficient land in Islamic nations of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and/or other Arab nations where they could comfortably be settled. If there was financial support from these oil rich nations, billions of dollars could be donated to build a beautiful modern state; but the Jew hates don’t want that … they want the Jewish homeland of Israel.
