10-23-19, * -- As wise and faithful as King Solomon was as a young man; his faith, wisdom and good behaviors as an old man were lacking. Maybe it was his weakness for women.  He had 700 wives and 300 concubines, many of whom were from foreign nations which the Lord God had told the Israelites not to marry. (1 Kings 11:1-3)  Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord and worshiped the idol gods of his wives. (1 Kings 11:5-8)  He would still go through the motions of worshiping the Lord God, but he was not fully and completely into it.

It doesn't matter how intelligent or educated we are if we cannot control our lusts and bad behaviors.  The uncontrolled worldly sinful lust of the flesh has caused many a great man, and also many average men, to fall losing their status, families or influence; resulting in their memory to be only of their shameful downfall. 

As we age, we should become wiser and benefit from our years of experience.  Some of us get so caught up in ourselves and our desires; we make bigger mistakes in our old age than when we were young. [Job 12:12; Ecclesiastes 1:18]

As the number of days in front of us gets smaller than the number of days behind us, let us reflect on our past and see where the Lord God has brought us from and all that He has brought us through.  Let us be sure to gather all the experiences and learning into a smarter servant of God as we thank Him and praise Him for all that He has done, let us draw closer to Him in our old age instead of drifting away from Him and making foolish mistakes. 12-11-17, * – The body of Christian evangelical believers [Church] have gone over to the world in abject surrender avoiding only a few of the grosser sins. When viewing the religious scene, we are tempted to fix one or another weakness and say, "This is what's wrong with the church; now we can recapture the glory of the early church and have pentecostal times back with us again." This is over simplification of the overall problem and lack of discretion in leadership. [Revelation 3:15-16] When dealing with anything as complex as faith and our eternal destiny the lack of spiritual discernment especially among leaders is the great deficiency. Something like a mist has settled over the church as "the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations." (Isaiah 25:7) Such a veil once descended upon Israel: "For their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.” 2 Corinthians 3:14-16

We desperately need leaders who can see through the “mist.” Unless they come soon, it will be too late for this generation. And if they do come, we will no doubt crucify a few of them in the name of our worldly orthodoxy. The downward slide of evangelism accepting the degenerate form of Christianity; being busy by gathering converts with no questions asked. There must be a strong break with that irresponsible, amusement-mad, paganized, pseudo-religion that too often passes for the Christian faith. The liberal lukewarm church has moved farther and farther from people actually being born again in true repentance and devotion to serving the Lord Jesus. Ezekiel 3:17-20

11-28-19, The most powerful winter storm to hit the west coast in ages has been named Winter Storm Ezekiel by the Weather Channel. This “historic storm” is going to make Thanksgiving 2019 travel an absolute nightmare for millions of people. This is a very dangerous storm, and it is extremely unusual to be witnessing this sort of weather along the USA west coast in the month of November. Over the next couple of days, this “historic” storm will absolutely hammer the western third of the nation before moving into the Midwest…

There is heavy snowfall combined with winds gusts of “over 70 mph” will create severe blizzard conditions in some areas, and in some places travel will be close to impossible.    Meteorologists are telling us that 'Ezekiel' is likely to “undergo bombogenesis” before it comes ashore and that would officially make it a “bomb cyclone.”

The Christian Evangelist David Wilkerson once declared that warnings for America would come from unusual places because so many of those that should be warning America about what is ahead are silent. 

So could it be possible that “Ezekiel” is meant as some sort of a harbinger? 

Of course many people will dismiss the name of this storm as “just a coincidence,” and perhaps they are correct; however few things in life are just a coincidence. The Bible's Old Testament prophet Ezekiel was sent by almighty God to warn the exiles of Israel to turn back to Him; and that the people of Judah that the city of Jerusalem was going to fall because of their extreme wickedness. 

His warnings turned out to be accurate.  The city of Jerusalem was once the center of the most powerful nation on Earth, but the people abandoned God and just about every form of evil that you can possibly imagine exploded in their society.  After a series of warnings, Jerusalem was conquered, and the people of Judah were taken into exile. God warned about what will happen if he doesn’t warn the people… Ezekiel was faithful in warning the people about what was coming, but most of them did not listen.​

11-27-19, * -- Sadly the world now has “Christless Christianity.” It’s a form of religiosity that whittles away the difficult terms of discipleship embracing only those elements of God’s word [the Holy Bible] that the sinful masses find pleasing allowing them to continue in their wicked behaviors. It’s a belief that being “good” or “nice” “not doing big sins like murder!” They think this is all that’s necessary to please God to earn a Hell-less eternity; in their ignorance they believe the work of Christ, repentance and obedience to Him is unnecessary. [Luke 13:3; John 14:6]
 
Christless Christianity is a watered-down version of Christianity that’s quickly replacing doctrinal purity, while professing itself to be biblical. It presents the Bible as if it were a collection of Aesop’s fables—a bunch of unrelated stories with a nice moral at the end of each. This approach ignores the grand theme of Scripture—God’s redemption of sinful mankind—and the centrality of Christ the Savior. Rather than creating self-denying disciples (Matthew 28:19), the message of Christless Christianity creates adherents who are “lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power.” [2 Timothy 3:1-2, 3-4, 5-7]
 
The Bible warns that, as history draws to a close, much of the opposition to truth will come not from the outside the church; but from within the ranks (2 Peter 2:1–2; Acts 20:29–30). External opposition is usually easy to identify as an enemy. However, internal compromise is decay that may not show externally for some time; it’s internal rot that’s little more than a platform for self-help seminars and self-affirming messages also proclaiming God wanting us all prosperous.
 
Some pastors may speak often of “God,” but rarely discuss the person and work of Jesus Christ. When the Lord Jesus is mentioned, He is presented as merely the ticket to God’s blessing for our earthly lives. Christ Himself was little more than a good moral teacher, and it is His “teachings” we should seek to follow rather than the Son of God Himself.  They often focus upon Jesus’ words that appeal to their humanitarian ideals, not the ones about taking repentance of sin and turning our lives over to the Lord for redemption and forgiveness. (Luke 9:23; Matthew 8:34; 16:24)
 
Christless Christianity masquerades as the real gospel of Jesus Christ, and, for countless seekers and those ignorant of the Bible, it appears to offer everything they are looking for. It gives them “all this and heaven too,” while requiring nothing of them in this life. 

We cannot remove Christ from Christianity; the Apostle Paul said:

“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Jesus Who called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, “If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:6-9
 
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

We must fix our eyes on the Messiah Jesus Christ (Hebrews 12:2) a Christless Christianity is not Christianity at all. Without Jesus there is no salvation. (John 14:6, 15:4-5)

11-27-19, Many who are advocates of solar panels for self sufficiency and saving on their power bills may also believe they're helping to safeguard the planet from global warming Armageddon by reducing a carbon footprint from fossil fuels - but they're misled. Solar power may not produce greenhouse gases while consumers use it, but it does release harmful chemicals during production and disposal.

We now know that solar panels generate “tons of toxic waste.” A short list follows:

1. Maintenance is required and maintenance and replacement
2. Solar farms and solar panels are/were heavily subsidized by governments. Obama's subsidies have stopped - Solyndra went bankrupt and left taxpayers holding the bag for $535 million in federal loans. 
3. Producing crystalline silicon from silicon results in a lot of input loss. “Sawing c-Si into the thin wafers used in panels creates a significant amount of waste silicon dust, up to 50 percent of which is lost in the air and water used to rinse the wafers. The process of making crystalline silicon from silicon is also inefficient; as much as 80 percent of the raw silicon is lost in the process. 
4. Dr. David Nguyen, a cancer biologist, remarked, “The toxic chemicals in solar panels include cadmium telluride, copper indium selenide, cadmium gallium (di)selenide, copper indium gallium (di)selenide, hexafluoroethane, lead, and polyvinyl fluoride. Additionally, silicon tetrachloride, a byproduct of producing crystalline silicon, is highly toxic.”

A study estimates that “photovoltaics had spread about 11,000 tons of lead and about 800 tons of cadmium” into the ecosystem. EPA has classified cadmium as a Group B1, probable human carcinogen.
There are no salvageable parts on a solar panel so it must be decomposed, and the chemicals disposed of properly.  According to Deutsche Welle, Sulphur hexafluoride, a greenhouse gas released during solar panel production, is 22,800 times more potent than CO2. [..snip]
In Vienna on Dec 9, 2019, prompted by climate change activists and U.N. climate change propaganda organizations, students and parents in Fairfax County are organizing a climate strike calling for a Green New Deal.
Considering all the toxicity in the production and recycling of solar panels, how is that net-zero carbon working out? Electric school buses get their electricity from fossil fuels, natural gas, hydro, and nuclear power simply because 0.02 percent is not enough electricity generated by solar power for our huge economy. ​More here

2-27-19, Bonny Mulder-Behnia -- Jesus healed a man who was blind since birth. Jesus mixed His own saliva with some dirt, spread the muddy mixture on the man’s eyes and told him to go and wash in a pool—and the man received sight [John 9:6]. For his entire life, this man had seen nothing but darkness, but Jesus gifted him with seeing eyes after proclaiming, “I am the light of the world” (John 9:5).

The apostle Paul advises God’s people not to lose heart when the troubles of this life dim our outlook on the future. When we are discouraged by the wickedness of sin and injustice of the world, a broken relationship, a tough situation at work, a grim financial outlook, a health crisis and more it can feel like we are sitting in a dark room. We may ask, “How will this ever be resolved?”

It’s all about perspective and what we focus on. We can sit around with mud on our eyes, or we can wash it off and see the light of Jesus. [John 8:12]

Whatever ‘state’ we’re in; whether joyful or dreadful … just wait it’ll change.

Paul says the problems we see are temporary, but the hope we have in Jesus—though unseen—is eternal. [2 Corinthians 4:18] Christians share a bright future in Jesus Christ, Who is the light of the world. [John 8:12]

Unfortunately, this uniquely American holiday has been distorted, by many, into “a time for mourning.”

6. Within a few months, the Pilgrims encountered the Indian “Squanto” [2] who had grown up in the village, but was kidnapped and sold into slavery in Spain. When he finally returned home, he found that his friends and family had been wiped out by disease.
7. Squanto helped the Pilgrims plant crops; and miraculously he spoke English helping the Pilgrims plant crops and negotiate trade agreements with Massasoit, the region’s most important Indian chief. He had already embraced Christianity; Pilgrim leader William Bradford called Squanto “a special instrument sent of God for their good.”
8. The second Thanksgiving [1623 AD] Gov William Bradford reported they prayed and fasted asking God to end the drought … and HE did!

The first time I read the New Testament was in my time of Israeli military service; I was reading in a tank while being serviced by mechanics. I would sneak into the tank with a small New Testament that I kept in my pocket. I would read it with a little flashlight and I was amazed. It’s for non-Jews about a non-Jewish thing, directing someone to a non-Jewish faith. It had quotations of the Old Testament that I knew. It’s about our Messiah and how He [Jesus Christ] came to the lost sheep of the house of Israel!!

One of the primary [and foolish] arguments for denying there is a God and Jesus Christ is the Messiah is the lack of evidence. However, the Bible tells us there's evidence all around us [Numbers 14:21; Romans 1:20] as documented within its pages. Philosophers pose four questions regarding life that they say demand an answer; the Bible answers these questions, not with theories and speculation, but empirical evidence and facts that can be observed by anyone at any given point in history. The questions are:

Acts 7:1-2, 3-58; Romans 5:6-8

If you want to know the origin of the universe, man and all living things, read the Bible. If you want to know the meaning of life, read the Bible. If you want to know the moral code of God, read the Bible. If you want to know about life after death, read the Bible.

11-20-19, * -- Sweden is reeling from a wave of killing by car/truck, shootings and bombings with 268 shootings so far just this year, 2019. And that's in a country of 10 million people which has crime numbers on par with some American cities. These shootings aren't being carried out with handguns, but with AK-47 rifles. The weapon featured in everyday gun violence that's a staple of Sweden’s gang war scene. Along with hand grenades and other explosives rarely seen in America. The weapon flow into Sweden & Denmark are coming from Morocco, Turkey, Pakistan, Jordan and Somalia. Police have asked gang members to turn in their grenades ... worked as well as expected. It didn't.

There have been 187 bomb attacks this year. In just 1 week in August, there were three major bombings. Much of the violence is concentrated in [Muslim onclave] Malmo which experienced 58 bombings in 2017.

Swedish authorities and its media rarely discuss or name the perpetrators. A recent shooting left Jaffar Ibrahim, a 15-year-old boy, dead; shot in a Malmo pizzeria. The shooting attack was preceded by a car bombing which was used as a diversion. Nine out of 10 shooters are foreign immigrants or the children of foreign migrants. However, Muslim gang violence in Sweden isn’t just its problem anymore; also in:

• Copenhagen with explosions outside a police station and a tax office over the summer. The targets were political and the bombs weren’t fireworks or hand grenades, but commercial explosives used for demolitions. The suspects turned out to be criminals who had entered from Sweden. Denmark has reacted to the terror traffic from Sweden by imposing border controls on bridge crossings.

Europe’s open infrastructure, its rejection of national and regional borders, has worsened the problem. From the mass flow of migrants from Muslim countries to the ease with which Muslim gang members move between European countries, the lack of border security has made the conquest of Europe easy.

Government [Sociaist] agencies suggest a comforting message that the solution to Islamic violence is social welfare. Their answer to everything. It's been tried but Muslim migrants are so deep in the social welfare system that they often never leave it. The gang members and ISIS terrorists are the welfare system’s children. 

While the same old lies keep being told, the bombs keep going off, the bullets keep flying and AK-47 fire is heard in broad daylight; the Islamic terrorists are protected while they kill law abiding citizens. In 2017 President Trump was right about Sweden. Sweden is the tip of the Spear in the multicultural attack on Western nations. On Jan 3, 2017 Vice Prime Min Mona Sahlin of Sweden said, “I think it is that which makes many Swedes so envious of immigrant groups. They have a culture, an identity, a history, something that binds them. And what do we have? We have Midsummer Eve and such silly things.”
This sort of insanity is rampant on the Left. They view thousands of years of Nordic culture as irrelevant and manufactured on the back of white privilege. They don’t allow their rich history to bind them with their countrymen because to do so would be a racist declaration of self-determination. In defiance of this fabricated “racism” they instead make excuses for foreign ideology and culture. Recently a court ruled that it was legal to fly an ISIS flag which should come as no surprise after their expert on Islamophobia left the country to join ISIS.

The cartoon 'Maxine' creator is John Wagner, who - since 1986 - was published by Halmark. for the "Shoebox Greetings™" card division. The brazen older woman has a stooped back, a mop of curly gray hair and abrasive personality. Spokesperson for Hallmark reported that when it first came out, they were worried that older people might be offended. It turns out to be just the opposite; people loved her. Maxine takes on any issue fearlessly, from family, aging, work, driving and more.  A few examples of John Wagner’s clever sense of humor through Maxine: “Remember when Christmas came AFTER Thanksgiving? Those were the days, huh?" and I can’t use a cell phone in the car. I have to keep my hands free for making gestures,” and, “I’m willing to put in longer hours at work. 11-23-19, Mrs James [Shirley] Dobson* -- After Jim and I we were married, we were extremely busy—Jim was finishing graduate training and I was teaching school. But we were still able to set aside an occasional weekend for just the two of us. [..] Life became  hectic in the coming years, as God blessed our family and his Christian service. We came to a point where we desperately needed some time alone. We arranged for my mother to keep the kids and took off for short romantic trips. 

Is it time for you to take a similar romantic trip?

Even if finances are tight, just being together can rekindle “that lovin’ feeling.” All that is needed is a little effort and creative flair. Talk with your mate; ask him or her what would bring new interest and excitement to your marriage. Then schedule at least two “getaway” activities a month when you can be alone together.

11-20-19, Los Angeles has found a solution to tackle a slice of the homeless issue in Los Angeles. More than 50 specially designed containers will be furnished and stacked in a little development next to the 110 and the 105 freeways.

Mayor Eric Garcetti says that this form of permanent housing is faster to build. "Let's figure out the models that work because we want to be able to take any piece of property anywhere in any amount of time with whatever funding we have and get something built. 21 projects are now in the works because of voter approved measure HHH. The measure is a $1.2 billion bond to be allocated to the construction of 8,000-10,000 units of clean and safe affordable housing for the homeless, according to LA Chamber of Commerce.The units will cost about $600,000 each, more than the median price of a condo in Los Angeles. The total cost of the units will be about $35 million dollars each. The one-bedroom units are expected to open next year.

These promises [above] are meant to comfort us, because all the prophets warn of a great storm coming in the final days. The Lord Jesus Christ also says this coming storm will be so frightful and overwhelming, people’s hearts will fail them as they see it developing (Luke 21:26). The Bible assures us God never sends judgment on any society without first revealing to His prophets what He plans to do:

“Surely the Lord will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7; John 16:4; Hosea 12:10)

God told His prophets to warn sinful and prosperous nations that were at peace, that the good times soon would end.  (Zechariah 7:7) Because of God’s great love, He  purposely calls the lost sinner to repentance to protect us in such times of storm.

Historically, when God gave these warnings, the people refused to listen (2 Chronicles 24:19). Almost always, the people grew weary of these warnings; the people simply switched off the prophet’s voice. They preferred to hear “smooth things.” And the Hebrew word for “smooth” here means “pleasant” words. [Isaiah 30:10] 

This very condition is creeping into the church of Jesus Christ today. God is appalled by this. We see this in the warnings of the prophet Ezekiel when the Lord told him to give the people this message: “I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountain of Israel shall be desolate…because of all their abominations which they have committed.” (Ezekiel 33:28-29)

Ezekiel preached; and over several years the people grew weary of listening to him. After all, over the years not one of Ezekiel’s words had come to pass. On the contrary, the nation only grew more prosperous! Over time, Ezekiel’s prophecies became a source of entertainment for the people. They began calling him names behind his back – names that were probably similar to the ones I’ve been called over the years: “Doomsday preacher,” “The man who never smiles,” “Mr. bad news.” 

Currently a majority of churchgoers soundly reject all prophetic warnings of a coming storm. Sadly, the American church today is the most blatant “feel good” church in all of history. However, like Israel, we’re only experiencing the calm before the storm! [Amos 8:11] Today’s church is experiencing a famine of hearing! People are closing their eyes and ears, hardening their hearts saying: “I don’t want to hear anymore bad news; tickle my ears with pleasant smooth words!” [1 Cor 15:19-20; Titus 2:11-14]

Exclusive: Tisherman First Time Humans Suspended Animation
For the first time in the US doctors have placed humans in suspended animation, as part of a trial that aims to make it possible to repair traumatic injuries that would otherwise cause death.

11-20-19, NewScientist.com -- Samuel Tisherman, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, told New Scientist that his team of medics had placed at least one patient in suspended animation. Recently at a symposium at the New York Academy of Sciences, Ariane Lewis, director of the division of neuro-critical care at NYU Langone Health, said she thought Tisherman's work was important, but that it was just first steps.

Emergency Preservation and Resuscitation [EPR] involves rapidly cooling a person to around 10 to 15°C [50 degrees F] by replacing all of their blood with ice-cold saline. The patient's brain activity almost completely stops. They are then disconnected from the cooling system and their body – which would otherwise be classified as dead – is moved to the operating theatre. A surgical team then has 2 hours to fix the person’s injuries before they are warmed up and their heart restarted. Tisherman says he hopes to be able to announce the full results of the trial by the end of 2020.

The trial was given the go-ahead by the US Food and Drug Administration. The FDA made it exempt from needing patient consent as the participants’ injuries are likely to be fatal and there is no alternative treatment.

Animal studies showed that pigs with acute trauma could be cooled for 3 hours, stitched up and resuscitated. Tisherman said, “We felt it was time to take it to our [human] patients. Now we are doing it and we are learning a lot as we move forward with the trial. Once we can prove it works here, we can expand the utility of this technique to help patients survive that otherwise would not.” More here
