When God Doesn't Hear
and Told Moses and Jeremiah Not to Pray
“Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”
Isaiah 59:1-2
6-29-19, Henry Morris, PhD -- People often complain that God doesn’t hear their prayers, especially when God does not respond in the way they would like. But He can hear, all right! “He that planted the ear, shall He not hear?” He even hears our thoughts. “Thou knowest . . . my thought afar off.” (Psalm 94:9; 139:2)
It's not that God can't hear, but it just may be that we have not met the conditions for answered prayer so that He will hear. Probably the most important of these conditions is obedience to His Word. “If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you,” said Jesus, “ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7).
But, “if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” (Psalm 66:18) “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” (James 4:3)
There are other conditions, of course. “Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering” (James 1:6). “Whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do,” said Jesus (John 14:13). “If we ask any thing according to His will . . . we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him” (1 John 5:14-15).
Even if we do meet all the conditions, however, He may not answer immediately or in the way we prefer, and He might even answer no. After all, He knows better than we just what is best for us, and He will see that “all things work together for good” for us if we truly “love God” (Romans 8:28).
First we need to check our lives in relation to His Word. Then, “if our heart condemn us not . . . whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments” (1 John 3:21-22). Source

In the Old Testament scriptures we see two examples of when God told Moses and Jeremiah not to pray (Deuteronomy 3:25-26; Jeremiah 7:16, 11:14, 14:11)... disobedience was the reason. Does it still apply in the New Testament? There are no examples in the New Testament of God telling anyone not to pray. It does report that God will discipline His disobedient people (Heb. 12:6; Rev. 3:19; 1 Cor. 11:32), even to the point of death (Acts 5:1-11; 1 Cor. 11:27-30, 1 John 5:16-17). We are commanded to be “devoted to prayer” (Rom. 12:12; cf. Col. 4:2). The born again believer in Christ Jesus is to look to God always for wisdom and strength to do His will, lifting others before His throne of grace, requesting He will intervene as we ask, for His glory and their benefit.

6-26-19, * -- We are not here to work for God because we have chosen to do so, but because God has “laid hold of” us [John 15:16], but once God has placed His call on us, woe be to us if we fail to perform. Once the Lord has ‘called’ [2 Timothy 1:9] us, may we never have this thought, “Well, I’m really not suited for this.”
What duty we are to perform is determined by God, not by our own natural leanings or desires. Think of Moses and Paul; Moses said he wasn’t a good speaker and couldn't speak to Pharaoh yet he did [Exodus 6:28, 7:7] and Paul was a persecutor of the Church [1 Corinthians 15:9] yet became the greatest winner of souls for the Church.
We must remember to keep our focus steadfastly on God’s will and that IF we have been ‘called’ according to His purpose [Romans 8:28] we will do our duty. Every Christian's mandate is to give an accounting [2 Thessalonians 2:14] even if a simple testimony of how you came to repentance and were born again in Jesus. [Mark 16:15]
God's good news Gospel must never be watered down; but shared in its undiluted sternness. The depravity of the times doesn’t change God’s commands for the pure life. There must be unflinching faithfulness to the Word of God, but when we come to personal dealings with others, we must always remember who we are—also a sinner saved by the grace of Jesus; cleansed of our own sin.
“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do…I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

95 Christians Killed by Islamic Jihadists
6-9-19, OpenDoors -- In West Africa’s Sahel region (which includes Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad and Niger). An attack in Mali by Islamic terrorists has killed an estimated 95 people, including men, women and children. While there are conflicting reports on the death toll, major news outlets reported “officials say 95 people have been found dead.” A contact on the ground in Mali confirmed that all those who died were Christians. Many of the bodies were found burned. A survivor of the attacks who called himself Amadou Togo told the AFP news agency: “About 50 heavily armed men arrived on motorbikes and pickups. They first surrounded the village and then attacked–anyone who tried to escape was killed. No one was spared–women, children, elderly people.”

6-26-19, CBN.com -- Graham Allen is an 11-year Army combat veteran turned podcaster and vlogger. His Blaze TV program "Rant Nation" addresses a number of today's issues from a veteran's perspective. Recently he issued a call to pray for President Trump and then something unusual happened with Facebook. Allen explained:
"I'm known for being kind of blunt in my videos. It's interesting that this video caught so much attention, because it was a very low-key video. And it was in response to some heat a pastor got for praying for President Trump when he attended a church in Virgina.
"And so, I just felt the need to address the hypocrisy of Christians being upset for praying for our leader in America, whether you agree with President Trump or not. The video was pretty much just if you believe that Donald Trump is this horrible, racist, bigoted person, isn't that the type of person that you should want to pray for?
"And so I made a video and basically captioned it, saying "Real Christians Pray For Everyone." And a couple of days later, I got a notification from Facebook that I had violated their community standards for hate speech. So they took the video down. They removed it. I got no appeal process...no anything. And I just found it incredibily sad that calling for pray for the President of the United States was considered hate speech.
"So that means people reported it as hate speech. Facebook investigated it and they deemed it hate speech."

Regardless of how wicked and corrupt this society becomes and how many Christians compromise and fall into sin, God still has a mighty remnant of holy, separated followers. [James 1:12]
Christians may be deceived into thinking that Satan is winning the battle for the saints, and that the predicted “falling away” has touched all of God’s people. The Bible does predict that in the last days many will be turned aside; men will love pleasure more than God; the love of many shall grow cold; evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse; and Satan will declare war on the saints of the Most High. [2 Timothy 3:2]
It is also true that Satan is now going about as a roaring lion, with great wrath, seeking victims to devour. [1 Peter 5:8] The enemies of God are going all-out in an attempt to deceive and seduce every true follower of Christ. However, the truth is not all of God’s people are falling away! The call of Jesus is to be thoughtful and clear-headed. Paul told Titus, “Exhort the young men to be sober-minded” (Titus 2:6). And Peter admonished the Christians, “Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit” (1 Peter 1:13, NASB). As materialism eats away at our spiritual life and compromise erodes our standards, Christians are called to get deadly serious about the things of Jesus. Peter further said, “Be serious and watchful in your prayers” (1 Peter 4:7).
Jesus does not want you to go around with a long face or a lack of humor. But he wants you to live like people who are soon to leave this earth — to be with him!

However, Trump supporters countered that the president had shown Iran a final gesture of patience — and cleared the way for a stronger retaliation should Iran foolishly interpret his one-time forbearance as a weakness to be exploited rather than as magnanimity to be reciprocated.
The charge of Trump being an appeaser was strange coming from leftist critics, especially given Trump's past readiness to bomb Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for allegedly using chemical weapons, his willingness to destroy ISIS through enhanced air strikes, and his liberation of American forces in Afghanistan from confining rules of engagement.

The word “master” is the same as “teacher.” The Lord Jesus, therefore, is our teacher and He teaches us through His Word—the Holy Scriptures. It is our function and responsibility to learn His teachings and, of course, to believe and obey them. No Christian (one under the authority of Christ) has the right to reject or even to question one of the teachings of His Word (Matthew 5:18-19).
The lord-servant relationship goes even further. The word for “servant” is actually “bond slave” [1 Corinthians 7:22]. The “lord” of a slave was his owner; the word itself means “supreme ruler” and is the title commonly assigned to God Himself in the New Testament. Thus, a disciple is to believe the word of his master Jesus without question or hesitation.
We are to go into the world with His teachings. “As my Father hath sent Me, even so send I you” (John 20:21). “As thou hast sent Me into the world,” He prayed, “even so have I also sent them into the world” (John 17:18).

The increased independence of modern day women and some of the older laws that were put in place to protect women in the event of divorce as they generally not the breadwinners (such as alimony) has created a shift in the balance between male and female partners in favor of the female. Men are often required to pay child support yet are not permitted to see their children.
As for sex, there are multiple ideas with some opting to never have sex again. Marriage and parenthood don't necessarily go hand in hand for Millenials, and this could be partially explained by the high divorce rates their parents suffered.
Women are achieving without their male counterparts, it spells doom for the future of marriage, as men are not allowed to fulfill what is in their nature - heading a household by providing for, and protecting, wives and children.
