9-25-19, * -- In giving the laws for His people, God set several appointed “Feasts of the Lord” for Israel to observe at specific times during the Year (Leviticus 23:23-25). These feasts were holy convocations or assembly meetings for the Hebrew people. They were to be celebrated from that time in the wilderness when God first gave the Law, and would carry on into the future to commemorate what God did for them when He delivered them from centuries of slavery in Egypt. They were first observed when Joshua and the Israelites entered the Promised Land in 1406 B.C. (Joshua 5:10-12). The 7 seasonal Feasts of the Lord [not feasts of Israel] are:

1. Passover
2. Unleavened Bread
3. Firstfruits
4. Pentecost
5. Trumpets – Rosh Hashanah is observed during the new moon of autumn
6. Atonement
7. Tabernacles

The weekly Sabbath is also considered a Feast of the Lord, but it is not seasonal; rather, it is to be observed weekly. [..snip] 
 
The Feast of Trumpets, Rosh Hashanah, is the fifth feast of the Lord occurring on the first day of the seventh  month of Tishri on the Jewish ecclesiastical calendar, when the new moon of autumn first becomes visible (crescent moon). This year it’s on September 29-30, 2019.
 
Rosh Hashanah means “head of the year.” Tishri 1 on the Hebrew calendar is the start of the civil New Year, and the date on which the year number advances. This year, A.D. 2019 on the Gregorian calendar will advance from 5779 to 5780 on the Jewish calendar. As soon as the crescent moon arrived and was observed by two or more witnesses, the watchers would trumpet the signal from hill to hill.
 
The Feast of Trumpets is all about hope and new beginnings. For this is the day that most Bible scholars believe Jesus Christ will return to the earth thus fulfilling the 5th Feast of the Lord. The dead in Christ will rise and the remnant of believers still alive on the planet will be taken up like Elijah and Enoch. [Genesis 5:24; 2 Kings 2:11; Luke 17:34-37, 21:25-27; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelation 19:11]. Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus.

As a result, we must gird up for battle, putting on our spiritual armor everyday and continuing through daily living or by direct witness to be lights in an ever-darkening, ever-deceived world that is marching toward an abyss of desperation and destruction.

9-27-19, * -- Striving for the ‘mastery?’ Seeking to know more and more about the Lord Jesus; those who do not may not be privy to the secrets and mysteries. When Jesus was presented in the temple as an infant; there were two old saints, Simeon & Prophetess Anna who were there by revelation as they were privy to the mystery that ‘THE KING WAS COMING!’ (Zechariah 9:9-11; Luke 2:25-35). Unheard of in those days; but Simeon knew that Jesus would be a light to the Gentiles [Luke 2:32] although they were considered by the Jews lowly dogs.
 
The Lord’s word tells us that it will be at Jesus second coming as it was with the His first coming when not everyone will be looking for Him and there will be scorners and scoffers who even doubt He will come (2 Peter 3:3). The mystery of His Second Coming will be shielded from many who are not yearning, watching or expecting Him. The following facts we should know prior to His coming:

• With the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as one day; knowing this one thing will keep us from being among the scoffers. (2 Peter 3:8)
• We must diligently be found by Him in peace, repentant, without spot and blameless. (2 Peter 3:14)
• No one shall see the Lord without holiness (Hebrews 12:14). [So much for the hyper-grace prosperity doctrine and being covered carte blanche regardless of our behaviors, intentions and condition of our faith.]
• We should always be looking for, yearning for and hastening the coming of the Lord, the Blessed Hope. (Psalm 80:14; Titus 2:13; 2 Peter 3:11-12)
• We must continue to grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord. (2 Peter 3:17-18)

We will have spiritual understanding of the season and the time ready for the Lord’s coming when we are continually filled with the Spirit; earnestly watching [Mark 13:37] and praying for the Lord’s return [Psalm 80:14]. 

Many of God’s mysteries are hidden except to His chosen. (Daniel 12:4; Matthew 13:10-12; Mark 4:10-12; Ephesians 5:18-19; Revelation 22:10) Don't be found among those who fall and are led away by the error of the wicked, but continue to grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord. 12-5-2008, * -- King Ahab of Israel [1]: Son of King Omri reigned from 740-720 BC he was a very wicked king [1 Kings 16:30] who was sadly influenced by his nefarious Zidonite wife Jezebel, Ahab encouraged idol worship in his domain [1 Kings 18:20-21] and persecuted the true prophets of God. King Ahab had led the Israelites away from worship and obedience to God and had brought them to a life of licentious depravity.

The gods that Ahab and his wife, Jezebel, introduced to God’s people [the Israelites] appealed to their earthly and fleshly desires. They liked the idea to be free from the old religion that demanded holiness and fear of the Lord God almighty. They thought they would no longer have to lead a life of separation from the things of the world. So they eagerly followed the wicked Ahab & Jezebel thinking they could enjoy prosperity and riches without the constraints of a religion that was outmoded and old-fashioned.

When the prophet Elijah pronounced the judgments of God [1 Kings 18:18, 21:20] that would come upon Israel, they laughed him out of the king's court; life was good they didn’t believe him. The people scorned him as he had no social prominence and his message was irrelevant in such a modern, sophisticated time. They now had priests and prophets of Satan’s Baal that had replaced those old judgmental men who demanded God’s holiness.

Elijah was the lone voice who cried for the people to return to God and His righteousness. When Elijah spoke, God listened and the Israelites were no longer laughing when God’s judgment of a three year drought occurred [1 Kings 18:18, 21:20. [Twice in the New Testament this drought is mentioned; Jesus once referred to this famine while addressing fellow Jews in His hometown of Nazareth Luke 4:25-26] and the apostle James mentioned it near the end of his epistle [James 5:17].

In 2019 AD, the United States of America has followed a similar course as the 720 BC Israelites. Currently the Gospel of the Lord Jesus isn’t different than the Gospel our grandfathers who believed in and obeyed the one true God. Too many Americans today object and scorn judgmental men who oppose the wicked immoral anti God behaviors of the masses. They have traded God’s love and plan of salvation through repentance and holiness for one of self aggrandizing and the lusts of the flesh [1 John 2:16].

Judgment is coming America. Would it be a dirty nuclear explosion in one of our cities, or an epidemic, or some natural disaster? If so it wouldn't take long for us to go back to our old ways honoring and obeying almighty God again.
Unfortunately, too many theologians are preaching a prosperity message instead of an obedience message. Sin and blasphemy has brought the people so low we’re hoping for a word of encouragement that convinces us to hang on to a “Gospel” that has a form of godliness, but denies the power thereof. [2 Timothy 3:5]

The job of a prophet is not to tell you how beloved you are, how many blessings God wants to bestow upon you, or how much love is in your church. The job of a prophet is to declare unto the people of God their sins and transgressions so that they may come to a place of repentance and, once again, return to the one true and almighty God. (Colossians 2:1-5)

Rosh Hashanah: The Jewish New Year and Feast of Trumpets [Jews for Jesus] ...
Rosh Hashanah, is one of the Lord's feast days. In Israel it's a joyous time of celebration and thanksgiving to God. Although Rosh Hashanah is celebrated as the primary New Year; there are four new years:

1. On the first of Tishri is New Year for Years [Rosh Hashanah], for release and Jubilee years, for plantation and for [tithe of] vegetables. Leviticus 23:23–25
2. On the first of Nisan is new year for kings and for festivals. 
3. On the first of Elul is new year for the tithe of cattle.
4. On the first of Shebat is New Year for Trees…”

On Sunday night, September 29, 2019 two days ending September 30, 2019 the Jewish people will gather with family and friends to celebrate Rosh Hashanah aka Feast of Trumpets. The Jewish New Year is meant to be a joyous time of celebration, thanksgiving and anticipation for a coming year filled with God’s blessings and favor.

Traditionally apples dipped in honey is served to symbolize hope for a sweet and peaceful new year ahead.

Rosh Hashanah in the New Testament

We join the Jewish community in choosing to look back on and commemorate the closing of another year and the beginning of the next. Whereas some Jews believe in an annual day of accounting for one’s actions/sins, we Christians believe that Yeshua’s death has atoned for our sins forever. We know that our names have been forever inscribed in the Book of Life, for we have found atonement through the death and resurrection of Yeshua [Messiah Jesus Christ].

Nevertheless, we hear the blast of the shofar [rams horn] at Rosh Hashanah as an ongoing call to spiritual vigilance, and it expresses our yearning for the Lord. Not only that, for us the shofar serves as a reminder of Yeshua’s coming return.

“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Messiah will shine on you,” the Apostle Paul writes in (Ephesians 5:14). “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Messiah will rise first.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16). More here

9-24-19, We are thankful for everything the Lord has done for us especially saving us. However, in "all" circumstances can be difficult especially when we find ourselves suffering the loss of a loved one, had a great financial loss or we’re suffering a dire illness. When we've been praying for loved ones who blasphemes the Lord and opposes all that is godly; yet they just seem farther and farther away from Him; it may seem like our prayers are unanswered.

Perhaps we have a loved one who is in the homosexual community and turned away from God. The longer the lifestyle is practiced the more misery awaits - they came out from being the person God made them ... have faith that eventually they will come out from among them! [2 Corinthians 6:17] Think of the testimony of all those who now are ministering to others who are embroiled in the lies and deception of the LGBTQ crowd. The Lord always answers; sometimes He says, 'you must be patient and wait.'
 
Finding gratitude to God for the horrific events in our lives is difficult. We must always remember there is a reason and even in adversity our reaction and behavior may honor and glorify the Lord. Perhaps an unsaved person is watching us and because of our stalwart faith, they may come to see truth in God’s love. He sees our tears [Romans 12:15]; they’re kept in a bottle: “In God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me… Thou tellest my wanderings: put Thou my tears into Thy bottle: are they not in Thy book?” Psalm 56:4, 8
 
We may not have happy laughter [Lamentations 3:17] now, but we do have His joy [John 15:11, 16:22; Philippians 4:4]. It comes in the "morning." [Psalm 30:2-5] He has a purpose for our pain and suffering that we may honor and glorify Him. [Acts 15:3] May we be found worthy. [Matthew 10:13]
 
“O Lord my God, I cried unto Thee and Thou hast healed me… Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness. For His anger endures but a moment; in His favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30:2-5, 32:11

​How Our Suffering Glorifies the Greatness of the Grace of God
Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Just think about the history of missions for a moment. If you have any inkling of how we got to where we are today with 1.3 or 1.4 billion people professing faith in Jesus Christ when it started from twelve.
How did we get here? And you know what the answer is? Suffering. There never has been a breakthrough into an unreached place or people without suffering. If we’re going to be a missionary, mark it down — pain, loss of a child, malaria, marital strife, tensions on the team, demonic opposition, martyrdom. It’s going to come. Don’t think it’s strange when it comes. It’s the price. He paid His life for our salvation. We join him in that suffering to display the nature of it. Paul in this verse says, “Now I rejoice in the sufferings for your sake.” I’m not summoning you to a miserable life. I am summoning you to a painful life. But in this pain, all over the Bible, you find Christians rejoicing in tribulation.

9-23-19, Summer is over and today is the first day of autumn. Soon it’ll be winter and in many places we’ll be shoveling snow. Winter is often brutal; miserably cold and bleak. We start counting down the days to spring and scanning the ground for any sign of green. Winter is important as it does have a purpose. God’s four seasons of the earth are important. He changes the temperatures to help prepare the ground for seeds, clear away dead vegetation making way for new growth. It brings the water in snow and rain for the spring/summer harvests. And the cold temperatures often rid the area of pesky insects. Without each season [spring, summer, autumn & winter] playing its part, the environment would collapse.
 
God’s word describes His creation:
 
Genesis 8:22
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
 
Psalm 74:17
The Lord set all the boundaries of the earth; He made the summer and winter.
 
Jeremiah 5:24
They have not said in their hearts, 'Let us fear the LORD our God, who gives the rains, both autumn and spring, in season, who keeps for us the appointed weeks of harvest.'

9-22-19, Heavy.com --  “Pittsburgh Police are responding to a medical situation in the South Side of Pittsburg PA. Confirming multiple hospitalizations and deaths. All of the male victims are wearing orange paper bands on their wrists. Have identified two venues that were using orange wrist bands last night. The victims were not yet identified, but, according to CNN, they are all middle-aged men (another report says one is 33 years old). Five victims found in apartment, one in elevator outside apartment and one on street at 26th/Carson. Police said on Saturday September 21, 2019, at 2 am they found men either unconscious or partially conscious."

According to WPXI-TV, police said there were “So far no initial signs of any drug paraphernalia or needles found during their investigation, and that “early indications” point to the problem occurring somewhere else, not where the victims were found.  Anyone who attended or has knowledge of a party or event in which guests were given orange wrist bands, please call Police at (412) 323-7141.  More details will be released when available.” More here

1. “so great” salvation - this adjective 'GREAT' is used only one other time in the New Testament, where it is translated “so mighty” (Revelation 16:18), describing a cataclysm so great that every island and mountain will disappear from the earth!
2. Not only is our salvation infinitely costly, but unlike everything else in our lives, it is unending: “And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him” (Hebrews 5:9). e different.
3. “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation” (Jude 1:3). Our salvation is also common! This same word is applied by Paul to “the common faith” (Titus 1:4). Basically, it means “ordinary.”

5-7-19, Politifact.com --  Hunter Biden did hold a directorship with a natural gas company called Burisma Holdings in Ukraine, beginning in the spring of 2014 until April 2019 being paid $50,000/month. At the time it was reported by Reuters that Hunter Biden "would help the company with "transparency, corporate governance and responsibility, international expansion," and other issues. Hunter Biden’s Burisma directorship attracted attention because Burisma was owned by Mykola Zlochevsky, a minister under Russia-friendly President Viktor F. Yanukovych who subsequently went into exile after a popular revolution. In 2015, Ukraine’s newly appointed prosecutor general Viktor Shokin inherited some of the investigations into Zlochevsky and his company. Ukraine wasn’t the only country where Hunter Biden’s business and his father’s diplomacy as vice president intersected. It also happened in China.
