Letter Oldest Christian Document Found 230s AD
"The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, Thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever."

7-11-19, The papyrus 'P.Bas. 2.43' has been in the possession of the University of Basel * for over 100 years. The letter has been dated to the 230s AD and is thus older than all previously known Christian documentary evidence from Roman Egypt. It describes day-to-day family matters; yet is unique in its own way: it provides valuable insights into the world of the first Christians in the Roman Empire, which is not recorded in any other historical source. John 1:1

The earliest Christians in the Roman Empire are usually portrayed as eccentrics who withdrew from the world and were threatened by persecution. This is countered by the contents this papyrus letter.

The letter in early third century indicates that Christians were living outside the cities in the Egyptian hinterland, where they held political leadership positions and did not differ from their pagan environment in their everyday lives. The document stands out from the mass of preserved letters of Greco-Roman Egypt by its concluding greeting formula:

After reporting on day-to-day family matters and asking for the best fish sauce as a souvenir, the letter writer uses the last line to express his wish that his brother will prosper “in the Lord.” The author uses the abbreviated form of the Christian phrase “I pray that you fare well ‘in the Lord’.” 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3

“The use of this abbreviation – known as a nomen sacrum in this context – leaves no doubt about the Christian beliefs of the letter writer,” says Sabine Huebner, Professor of Ancient History at the University of Basel.

“It is an exclusively Christian formula that we are familiar with from New Testament manuscripts.”

The name of the brother is also revealing, Huebner goes on to explain: “Paulus was an extremely rare name at that time and we may deduce that the parents mentioned in the letter were Christians and had named their son after the apostle as early as 200 AD.”

By means of extensive prosopographical [1] research, Huebner was able to trace the papyrus to the 230s AD. This makes the letter at least 40-50 years older than all other known Christian documentary letters worldwide.

The location of the papyrus was also successfully reconstructed: It comes from the village of Theadelphia in central Egypt and belongs to the famous Heroninus archive, the largest papyrus archive from Roman times. Titus 3:15; Revelation 22:21

announcing that Palestinian [PA] leadership has decided to “halt” all agreements signed with Israel.
He has reached out to Islamic terror group Hamas in Gaza, offering to end the dispute between them.
The meeting was called to discuss this week’s demolition of Palestinian buildings in the Wadi al-Hummus area near the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sur Baher that the Jewish state of Israel declared illegal. [1]

The demolitions capped a seven-year legal battle over the buildings, which Israel maintained posed a security risk as they were erected too close to the security fence. Work crews began the demolition work early on Monday morning, 7-22-19, completing it within hours.

7-30-19, Recently liberal "pearls" were clutched from coast to coast again when Pres Trump said citizens of Baltimore 'living in hell.' That's the Congressional district of Elijah Cummings. “Racism,” they cried. They cry that in response to any criticism who, to use another of their broken record responses, happens to be a “person of color.” The president was responding to Cumming's comments on the illegal border situation:

Recently Cummings attacked the acting Sec of Homeland Security, screaming at Kevin McAleenan over the conditions of illegal migrants held at the border.
Illegals on the border have 3 meals/day with a roof over their heads while many in Cummings’s district do not.
Apparently rats and roaches are the only growth industry in West Baltimore Maryland.

Apparently the Dems last trick in their bag is name calling as the Russia collusion and obstruction of justice failed. [Calling the president a racist for valid criticisms is an “ad hominem.” No valid fact based retort so they hurl false insults of racism.] Source

Prophetic Times: Ad Hominem Redefining Truth
"Judgment is turned away backward, and justice stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yes, truth fails; and he that departs from evil makes himself a prey."

7-30-19, * -- Have you ever noticed that when people in a discussion have no facts or logic to back up their argument, they often resort to name calling or labeling? When this happens, it is a sure sign that they are losing the argument. There’s a term describing this behavior: “ad hominem.” Webster’s definition:

"appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect; marked by or being an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made."

These days it's exactly what people are doing when they cannot support their arguments and someone disagrees with them; an attack is made on a person's character. The result is a labeling of the most undesirable nature, such as bigot, racist, etc. It’s important that we know and understand this method of argument as it’s in the news daily.

The recent row between President Trump, Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD) & Al Sharpton [reverend**] is an excellent example. The president attacked Cummings for being in Congress a long time, yet his district has not seen any progress [1]. Rather than defend the progress Cummings believes he's made in Baltimore, the strategy is to paint Trump as a racist and bigot [US govt advanced $16 billion under Pres Trump in 2018-Ed.]. The claim is based on fact that Cummings is black, as are most of those living in his district; the ad hominem immediately turned the discussion to racism and bigotry as the main issue.

Given the old adage that if you say a lie often enough, it becomes the truth, ad hominem arguments take a toll on their targets, especially in these days of 24/7 media. The uninformed, skeptical, cynical and suspicious will naturally gravitate toward what they want to believe rather [because they’re lazy or don’t really care about truth-Ed.] than check the true nature of the situation.

Isaiah 59:14-15 illustrates these modern phenomena of ad hominem: "And judgment is turned away backward, and justice stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yes, truth fails; and he that departs from evil makes himself a prey."

These are indeed prophetic times as truth is being redefined by ad hominem. Be aware. Seek the truth. Find what is acceptable unto the Lord. Proverbs 12:17-20; Ephesians 5:10; Romans 12:2

7-29-19, Bill Wilson -- In 2011 Filmmaker Chris Pinto* appeared on radio and television shows lambasting David Barton of Wallbuilders** for misleading Christian Americans about the foundation of Christ as the cornerstone of this nation. While I am not a historian, it is of interest to me. It is a fact that this United States of America had predominantly Christian roots at its founding and its laws are based on the laws of the Bible.**

Over 150 years before the Declaration of Independence the land was claimed in covenant with God to advance the Christian faith.

In 1565, the Protestant French Huguenots, who came to what is now Florida to escape persecution, were martyred by Catholic Spanish troops.
The 1606 Jamestown Charter from King James stated ”...in propagating of Christian Religion to such People, as yet live in Darkness and miserable Ignorance of the true Knowledge and Worship of God, and may in time bring the Infidels and Savages, living in those Parts, to human Civility, and to a settled and quiet Government...”
Sixteen years later “The Mayflower Compact” [1] proclaimed: “Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia...”

The Founding Fathers of the United States of America may not all have been Christians. They knew, however, that the Holy Scriptures contained in the Bible were the basis for all law. They unabashedly based the formation of the nation upon the laws of the God of the Bible. One can find Biblical principles throughout the Declaration and the Constitution. [God’s word admonishes Christians to be good citizens of the earth: Matthew 22:16-21, 22:21; John 17:1-26; Romans 13:1-14; Ephesians 6:1-24; 1 Peter 2:17; 1 Timothy 2:1-15]

The Lord Jesus Christ said:
“Take heed that no man deceive you.” Matthew 24:4

On January 10, 1963, Florida Congressman A.S. Herlong, Jr. read into the Congressional Record [2] the 45 stated goals of communism from “The Naked Communist” by Cleon Skousen. Numbers 27-30 stated:

“27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch." 28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state." 29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. 30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man".”

Rest assured that God WAS in control of forming this nation for His good purpose. You can be both a patriot and a Christian—the freedom of one confirms the other.

6-14-13, * -- When Jodie Foster accepted an award at the 2013 Golden Globes, she confessed: “I want to be seen, to be understood deeply, and to be not so very lonely.” Her words echo Jim Carrey, another successful American actor, who once said, “I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of, so they can see that it’s not the answer.”

We are tempted to put our hope in the false gods of money, sex, power and fame to satisfy our longings. As these Hollywood celebrities remind us, counterfeit gods never deliver on their promises. The Lord Jesus promised HIS peace, and it’s a peace that we can count on [John 14:27]. No better Scripture describes this placid state of the soul 'peace' than Psalm 23:1-6.

Inner spiritual peace is derived from being forgiven and knowing we are accepted in God's forever family. Only when we recognize that the Lord Jesus is present with us - in good times and not so good times - can we have an abiding peace that does not depend on our circumstances; wealth or health.

Fear and anxiety are natural responses to worrisome situations; but we can experience peace in the midst of dread by doing what God commands: “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.” (Phil. 4:6–7)

North Carolina: Killer Bacteria in Water

In Only Two Weeks Deadly Brain Infection Killed Eddie Gray

7-26-19, Swimmer, Eddie Gray, Christian family man, 59, died after he contracted a deadly parasite Naegleria fowleri brain eating bacteria on what was meant to be a fun day out with friends at Fantasy Lake Water Park in North Carolina. The operations supervisor fell ill after a 7/12/19 trip to the water park. He sought medical help but died less than two weeks later, on July 22, 2019. There have been other cases in the USA:

A four-year-old boy from Louisiana picked up the deadly Naegleria fowleri while playing on a homemade water slide.
California woman Kelsey McClain, 24, contracted the brain infection and died after entering her nose while she was swimming in the Colorado River in 2016.

N. fowleri causes the brain to swell, causing vomiting, delirium and seizures. The amoeba causes a brain infection that leads to the destruction of tissue. In its early stages, symptoms may be similar to bacterial meningitis.

The organism does not cause illness if swallowed, but can be deadly if forced through the nose while swimming.
There is currently no known cure for the amoeba.
Since 1962 only 145 cases in the USA.

7-26-19, CBN.com -- Anne Marie Calgaro's son was a 15 year old minor when the state of Minnesota began illegally helping him, 'EJK', to change his sex from male to female. The state steered EJK through a life-changing, permanent body altering process, becoming a pawn in someone else’s sociopolitical agenda and being influenced by those who have no legal or moral right to usurp the role of a parent. He/she is now 18, has since undergone surgery to fully transition.

In Calgaro's initial 2016 court filing, she sued the St. Louis County School District as well as two health care providers. The school principal decided, without Calgaro’s consent and without an official court order, that E.J.K. was emancipated as a minor [he wasn't]. The first filed a lawsuit against public officials claimed they violated the 14th amendment to the U.S. Constitution by “terminat[ing] her constitutionally protected parental rights without due process.

As a result, Calgaro was barred from accessing her son’s school and health records. The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Calgaro in 2017, which is when the Minnesota mother enlisted the help to go to the USA Supreme Court. More here

Ricky was healthy and did not have any open cuts, scratches or wounds. Ricky's wife, Cassey Rutherford, of Waterloo, Alabama chronology of events:

On July 6, 2019 family and friends went kayaking at Second Creek
On July 8th Ricky went to work and came home with a 103-degree temperature and cramping in his legs. He works in a warehouse, so he assumed he was simply feeling the effects of working on his feet in the heat
July 9th he returned to work, but could hardly walk at all when he got home.
July 10th his leg was red and swollen went to the ER; they told us it was cellulitis possibly contracted from our kayaking trip Saturday and treated him with IV antibiotics and sent him home with two more. They told him if there was any change to come back.
July 11th Ricky running a 105 fever and rushed back to the emergency room when doctors suspected it was flesh-eating bacteria and ran some tests.
July 12th Ricky went into surgery when doctors cleaned out a 5-by-6-inch chunk of the inner thigh of his leg.
July 15th cultures confirmed that flesh-eating bacteria — or necrotizing fasciitis had infected Ricky's leg.

Cassey Rutherford said: “The doctors told us didn't have to be cut on body as it could be a microscopic hole that it could come into and still spread like that. ... Do not get in that water! It’s not safe. Don’t jeopardize your family for a day of fun. It’s right here in our backyard.”

Symptoms of the disease include a red or swollen area of skin that spreads quickly, severe pain — even beyond the infected area of skin — and a high fever.

7-18-19, Gateway Pundit -- The heartbroken 20-year-old University of Michigan student conservative commentator Kathy Zhu was expelled from Miss World America's [MWA]. The State Director Laurie DeJack declared and accused Kathy of “being racist, Islamophobic and insensitive.” One of the issues was a tweet in which Zhu declared that the majority of black deaths are caused by other black citizens. Also at issue was that Kathy refused to allow an Islamic activist to put a Muslim hijab [head sack] on her head during an event on university campus.

Zhu responded by saying: “What is ‘insensitive’ is that women in the Middle East are getting STONED TO DEATH for refusing to obey their husband’s orders to wear hijabs. A Muslim woman tried to FORCIBLY put a hijab on my head without my permission. I tweeted about it on my social media, and it got the attention of the media. Almost everyone was supportive of me refusing to be put in that situation.” She asked Dejack: "Are the people in MWA implying that they advocate for the punishment of women who refuse to wear a hijab?”

Following her refusal to wear the hijab, angry Twitter users had attempted to get the Chinese-American student expelled from her university. DeJack also sent Zhu an email demanding that she return her crown and sash, as well as remove any mention of having participated in MWA from all of her social media. More here

7-23-19, * -- There's a 1989 CSPAN video circulating the internet allegedly of Congresswoman Rashida Talib (D-MI) discussing the Islamic plan to make America Islam and replace US laws with Sharia law. I found that the video was attributed to Sharifa Alkhateeb, a female Muslim educator sharing her ultimate goal of Muslim education in America. Alkhateeb and Tlaib look alike, but Tlaib would have been only 10 years old when the speech was videotaped. Plus, if this had been Tlaib, this info likely would have surfaced during her Michigan campaign for Congress.

Notwithstanding, there is much more disturbing info circulating about the other Muslim Democrat congresswoman from Minnesota, Ilhan Omar. Investigative reporter and former editor at PJ Media, David Steinberg, has investigated Omar's background and found evidence of criminal activity. He's written five in-depth stories about Omar and her deceptive, if not illegal, activities since coming to the United States in 1992 [when she was 10 yrs old].

Wikipedia reports: Ilhan Omar is a Muslim born in Somalia who spent much of her childhood in Kenya and immigrated to the United States when she was 12 [or 10] years old. In 2002 she became engaged to Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi. The couple applied for a marriage license, but the application was not finalized. They had a faith-based marriage and had two children before separating in 2008. In 2009 she married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a British citizen. In 2011 she and Elmi had a faith-based divorce, and that year [2011] she reconciled with Hirsi, with whom she had a third child in 2012. In his first August 13, 2018 report, Steinberg pieced together court records documenting that Omar committed perjury by marrying her own brother [Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, British citizen -- Ed. ] to assist him in committing immigration fraud. Another Steinberg story documented that Omar was living with first husband Ahmed Hirsi while married to her brother, Elmi, and that she may have committed fraud to obtain student loans. Steinberg documents a complicated scheme by Omar's family to commit immigration fraud, from which she benefits today. Steinberg reports that Omar did not flee war-torn Somalia, but rather was part of a family that already had been granted asylum in Great Britain. In 1992 [or '95], Ilhan entered the United States as a fraudulent member of the "Omar" family. That's not her family; they are a second, unrelated family who was being granted asylum by the United States. The Omars allowed Ilhan's genetic family to falsely use their name to apply for asylum as members of their family:
- Ilhan Abdullahi Omar's name, before applying for asylum was Ilhan Nur Said Elmi
- her genetic sister Sahra Noor's name before applying for asylum was Sahra Nur Said Elmi
- her genetic father's name before applying for asylum was Nur Said Elmi Mohamed
- [and the brother/husband #2 Ahmed Nur Said Elmi?? -- Ed.]

Steinberg has documented an entire system of fraud surrounding Omar, yet the media refuses to follow his lead in reporting it. Steinberg says Phyllis Kahn, who held Omar's congressional seat for 22 years, says the lack of reporting is due to fear of "not wanting to appear racist." Both Tlaib and Omar have made racist, anti-Semitic remarks and stand by them. Their words and actions are well documented. Fake news stories about Tlaib and Omar do not have to be made up; the truth is far more condemning. Yet pointing this information out is considered racist.

Oh, how the truth is perverted.

Think about this: Christ said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me" and in John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

5-3-18, Henry Morris, PhD -- The concept of “fiat creation” is opposed by evolutionists and all who believe in the so-called geologic ages. Nevertheless, this is clearly the teaching of the Word of God, and God was there! Psalm 148:1-5 exhorts all the stars to praise the Lord, and then notes that, as soon as God spoke, they “were created.” Similarly, “by the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. . . . For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.” (Psalm 33:6, 9)

It is worth noting that whenever the verbs “create” and “make” are used in reference to God’s work of creation, they are never in the present tense. God is not now creating or making stars or animals or people as theistic evolution requires; at the end of the six-day creation period, in fact, God “rested from all his work which God created and made.” (Genesis 2:3)

This is the teaching of the New Testament also. “The worlds [that is, the space/time cosmos, the ‘aeons’] were framed [not ‘are being framed’] by the word of God [not ‘by processes of stellar evolution’], so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear [not ‘out of pre-existing materials,’ as required by theories of chemical and cosmic evolution].” (Hebrews 11:3)

The Lord Jesus Christ Himself confirmed the doctrine of recent creation. “From the beginning of the creation [not, that is, four billion years after the solar system evolved] God made them [Adam and Eve] male and female.” (Mark 10:6; John 1:3)

Thus, those who believe in the geologic ages are rejecting both the biblical record and the authority of Jesus Christ in order to attain ephemeral acceptance by the ungodly. This is a poor exchange! Source

7-24-19, “Weaponized” hogweed continues to spread across New York, prompting the state to issue a warning to residents about the dangerous plant that can burn, scar and blind people. This weed is also cropping up in other areas of the country, and it’s causing such severe reactions.

Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) might be pleasing to the eyes with its small, white umbrella-like flowers. However, it’s far from pleasing to the body, as contact with its sap makes skin sensitive to sunlight and brings about bright red burns and exaggerated blisters everywhere it touches. Scarring from the blisters can last for as long as six years.
If the sap gets in your eyes, the situation is even worse: it can cause long-term sunlight sensitivity and blindness. A toxic reaction to the plant can occur within just 15 minutes of contact. More here

"When Peter [stepped into water] saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, "Lord, save me." And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him saying, "O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"

Matthew 14:30-31

12-14-18, * -- In one of the most frequently repeated scenes in Looney Tunes, a character, Wile E. Coyote, often runs headlong off a cliff and continues running through thin air—until he looks down. Once he realizes the potential danger, he falls with a stupendous crash.

For Looney Tunes watchers, the Apostle Peter’s experience of walking on water may seem faintly familiar. As the disciples were on a boat in the Sea of Galilee, they saw a figure walking near them. Although they suspected it was a ghost, Jesus assured them it was in fact Him (Matthew 14:26–27). Peter then appeared to have sought proof, saying to Jesus, “Tell me to come to you on the water” (Matthew 14:28). When Jesus did, Peter began to boldly walk toward Him.

Unlike Wile E. Coyote, Peter’s defiance of physics began not by accident, but with an expression of faith in the Lord Jesus; believing in His power. Peter saw Him heal people and raise Lazarus from the dead (John 11:43) so of course he believed Jesus wouldn't let him sink.

Yet the Peter, like Wile E. Coyote, soon realized the potential danger and began to plummet. When a strong wind blew, Peter went from faith to fear. Still, his faith did not entirely disappear; for he had enough to cry out to Jesus for help: “Lord, save me!” (Matt 14:30). Jesus did not hesitate to save He reached out “immediately” (Matt 14:31).

Those who follow Christ may find themselves in situations of danger or distress. However, we know we can enter into them with the faith that enables us to walk through the seemingly impossible and Jesus gives us strength and peace to plunge ahead. [1 Timothy 1:17]

The classic hymn “How Firm a Foundation”
depicts God promising:

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word
What more can He say than to you He hath said
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled

Fear not, I am with thee; oh be not dismayed
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand
Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand

When through the deep waters I call thee to go
