​8-31-19, * -- Would it be better to win a silver medal or a bronze? In 1995, psychologists from Cornell University studied the reaction of Olympic silver and bronze medalists. They found that bronze medalists were significantly happier with their achievement than silver medalists. The reason is that silver medalists compared themselves with those who won gold, while the bronze medalists were happy to have medals at all.

In Psalm 39:7-8, 11 King David is desperately trying to find the right perspective on life. He was in the middle of a challenging situation. He was suffering because of sin. In addition, he was surrounded by wicked people (Psalm 39:1). So, after a sustained period of silence, David embraced two realizations that helped him gain a glimmer of hope.

1. David realized life is short. He said God made his days a mere handbreadth. A handbreadth in ancient Israel was the width of four fingers, the smallest measurement available. He then shifts the image to compare life to a vapor, or breath. In language foreshadowing Ecclesiastes 1:8, 5:10, he describes how the pursuit of wealth and brevity of life are meaningless never causing satisfaction. David realizes what matters most is his relationship to the Lord. He said, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.” Psalm 39:5-7
2. David realized that his sin estranged him from God, “I dwell with you as a foreigner, a stranger, as all my ancestors were” (Psalm 39:12). He mourns deeply over his sin and longs for God to hear his cry. While this psalm does not come to a full resolution of these difficulties, David is well on his way toward restoration.

The Bible often calls us to think about the brevity of life. In Psalm 90:12, Moses asks God to “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”   [James 4:14]

June 22, 2018 -- A clinical psychologist reports that half of her patients suffering with suicidal tendencies are either wealthy celebrities, bank CEOs, or movers and shakers in the political world. Some are prone to depression and bipolar disorder due to incessant media and public scrutiny. They are under more pressure than ordinary people as they struggle to maintain their image while knowing their lives have no real meaning. They have panic attacks, insomnia, violent outbursts, substance abuse, eating disorders and suicidal thoughts. The recent suicides of Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade highlight how ... being sought-after, rich and at the top of their game leads to an identity crisis and the likelihood of committing suicide is twice that of ordinary people.

Clearly substantiating the words of King Solomon and King David - without God - life has no meaning causing the rich and famous to end their own earthly lives.

​8-15-19, Haaretz News, Israel -- The upcoming Tuesday, September 17, 2019 re-do election in Israel seeks only five Knesset seats. Some say it'll save Netanyahu from prosecution and undermine Israeli democracy – or vice versa. 

Israelis head to the polls for the second time this year and although it's a very important election, most Israelis seem disengaged, if not apathetic. From the point of view of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leftist opponents, these can be divided into three categories:

1. Sweet Dreams (aka Pie in the Sky): The center-left improves its performance in the April 9, 2019 elections by 5 seats, reaching a blocking majority of 60 or more seats without Avigdor Lieberman’s Yisrael Beiteinu. Benjamin Netanyahu’s path to forming a new right-wing government is effectively blocked. 8-30-19, It wasn’t that long ago that rap artist Kanye West was an underground icon to Democrats, especially after he went off-script to bash former Republican President George W. Bush. He’s donated to Barack Obama, and is of course linked through marriage to the left-leaning Kardashians. However, over recent years, something has changed. West found himself out of favor with liberal Democrats after he showed hints of budding conservatism on topics like racism and black voting habits. [He said they were brain washed to continually vote Democrat when there's no reason to be so faithful to a party that has failed miserably.]

Then came the unforgivable sin:
Kanye gave Donald Trump a chance, even meeting with him in the Oval Office while wearing a MAGA hat! Oh my! Now it looks like he's gone a bridge too far when it comes to riling up the left. Recently he and wife Kim Kardashian shared what appeared to be a sneak preview of West’s upcoming album title and song list — and it looks to be downright Christian.

Daily Mail reported that the album is to be called:

"Jesus Is King!”
It's set to be released on Sept. 27, 2019 and it isn’t just the title ... the tracts listed on West's notepad include “God Is,” “Baptized”  and “Sweet Jesus.”
 
The Life Of Pablo released in 2016 as 'a gospel album had a whole lot of cursing on it. It’s very interesting to see this side of Kanye & Kim; and if the upcoming album truly is Christian, there’s no doubt that it will drive liberal Democrats absolutely batty. ​More here and here

1 Thessalonians 5:23

8-5-19, Dr Morris, PhD -- It has been observed that 1 Thessalonians 5:23 was first-written of Paul’s epistles contains more direct references to the second coming of Christ than any of his other writings. Each of the chapters in 1 Thessalonians comes to a close with a reference to Christ’s return in relation to some aspect of His great salvation, as applied to our personal lives. [1 Thess 5:1-3, 4-6]

1. In the first chapter, he speaks of the second coming in relation to service: “How ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; and to wait for His Son from heaven.” (1 Thess 1:9-10)
2. In the second chapter he speaks of soul-winning: “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?” (1 Thess 2:19)
3. Next he emphasizes stability: “To the end He may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.” (1 Thess 3:13; Revelation 19:11)

The fourth chapter concludes with perhaps the greatest passage on the second coming in any of the epistles, verses 13-17. All of this is said by Paul to be the basis of our Christian strength. “Wherefore comfort [literally ‘strengthen’] one another with these words.” (1 Thess 4:18)

Finally, the last chapter concludes with the words of our text, speaking of our eternal sanctification as a result of this blessed hope of the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The second coming is thus all-important. It is a practical incentive and enablement for the Christian life, encouraging service, soul-winning, stability, strength, and sanctification, culminating in full and everlasting salvation. [See also Revelation 19:11-15] Source

A lawsuit filed by The Military Freedom From Religion Foundation on behalf of one Air Force veteran, claiming the addition of the Bible in the display is unconstitutional. The Trump Admin says the case comes down to freedom of religion. VP Pence said: "It's really no surprise because, under the last administration, VA hospitals were removing Bibles and even banning Christmas carols in an effort to be politically correct.  But let me be clear: Under this administration, VA hospitals will not be religion-free zones."  ​More here

Bashing China could be the Democrats' ticket to the White House

Bernie Sanders relatively soft-pedaling the China issue; the current front runner former Dem Vice President Joe Biden still hasn’t backtracked or apologized for his May 2019 statement saying that China is “not competition” for the U.S. Based on what we’ve seen so far in this elongated election process, it doesn’t seem like any Democrats will get smart enough to lay off of President Trump long enough to make a case for themselves. 8-14-19, Dr Henry Morris, PhD -- One of the great words of the Bible is the word “glory,” and it should be evident that glory belongs to God, not man. Indeed, the very “heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1). Not only do the heavens declare His glory, but “His glory [is] above the heavens” (Ps 113:4), and “the glory of the LORD shall endure forever” (104:31). In heaven the mighty hosts of angels “give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name” (Ps 29:2).

It is thus singularly inappropriate for God’s servants on Earth to seek glory for themselves. “Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 9:23-24)

This Old Testament exhortation is echoed in the New. “God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; . . . That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:27, 29-31)

As our text reminds us, God manifests His glory to us today in both mercy and truth, mercifully saving us in Christ, Who is Himself God’s truth. (John 14:6) Thus, in Christ “mercy and truth are met together” (Psalm 85:10), and we shall “praise thy name for thy loving kindness [same word as ‘mercy’] and for Thy truth.” (Psalm 138:2; Ephesians 1:3-11) Source

Protesters began to sing the American hymn “Sing Hallelujah to the Lord” and they sang non stop all night for nine hours. The hymn’s impact on defusing tensions was nothing short of miraculous. One Methodist pastor said the song has become the anthem of the whole movement.
 
A Methodist pastor from Hong Kong, talks about recent protests in Hong Kong. He said, “Our congregation has long understood following Jesus to be inseparable from participation in liberation movements in our own community, around the world or during this moment of turmoil on the streets of Hong Kong. For me, it’s a miracle.” He said what happened was a group of pastors organized a 72-hour prayer vigil for the situation in Hong Kong. On the night of June 11, 2019 after prayers, some people started to sing the hymn, which has a simple, repetitive chorus: "'Sing hallelujah to the Lord.' Amazingly, that night they could not stop. They sang for the whole night, about nine hours.”

8-9-19, Dr Henry Morris, Phd -- The concept of evolution, according to this verse, is nothing but brute-like foolishness. If an automobile presupposes an automaker, and a clock implies a clockmaker, surely the infinitely more intricate and complex eyes and ears of living creatures require an eye-maker and an ear-maker! “The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them” (Proverbs 20:12).

The most basic of all scientific laws—the law of cause and effect (no effect greater than its cause)—becomes utmost nonsense if the cosmos is the product of chaos and the universe evolved by chance. “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God” (Psalm 14:1).

Every creature, from the single-cell amoebae to the amazing human body, bears the impress of intricate planning and construction. The notion that such complex structures could evolve by random mutations and natural selection is simply a measure of the audacity of human rebellion and the absurdity of humanistic reasoning. Such things never happen in the real world, and there is no real scientific evidence whatever for “vertical” evolution from one kind to a higher kind.

The only genuine evidence for evolution is the fact that the leaders of intellectualism believe it, and the only reason they believe it is their frantic desire to escape God. “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:22).

The ear did not “evolve”; it was planted. The eye did not “happen by chance”; it was formed. [Exodus 4:11] Every wise man and woman will say with the psalmist, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psalm 139:14). 8-25-19, Sun.Co.Uk -- Mosul Iraq UK/SAS troops report that an Islamic terrorist from Isis using it's minuscule 'AIR FORCE' $1200.00 drone blew him up when the drone bomb he was operating ran low on battery — and flew back as it's programmed to do under those circumstances.

6-2-12, * -- The Lord Jesus tells us four times that loving Him is of such a nature that it results in the keeping of Jesus’s commandments, or, more generally, His word [John 14:15, 21, 23-24]:

• “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
• “Whoever has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me.”
• “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word.”
• “Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words.”

Loving Jesus is not the same as keeping His commandments. It precedes and gives rise to keeping the commandments. Keeping His word is the result of loving Him.

Love for Jesus is entirely deserved. He is infinitely worthy of being loved. He is loved not in spite of what He is, but because of all that He is. It is not a response to need or weakness or defect. It’s desiring Him because He is infinitely desirable. It’s admiring Him because He is infinitely admirable. It’s treasuring Him because He is infinitely valuable. It’s the reflex of the awakened and new-born human soul [John 3:3,5,7] to all that is true and good and beautiful, embodied in Jesus.

Therefore, how can there be love without obedience? [John 14:23; Isaiah 49:15]

8-22-19, ANN ARBOR, MI – The Thomas More Law Center -- A well-orchestrated Islamic propaganda campaign aimed at teachers in USA Government Public School Systems throughout Michigan and several other states has been uncovered via FOIA requests.

During the past five years the Michigan school district has presented no teacher-training seminars focusing on Christianity, Judaism or any other religion – only Islam. The hired Muslim consultant was Huda Essa, a resident of the Dearborn area and of Arab descent. She appeared before the Novi teachers in a hijab, the Muslim headscarf, billing herself as an expert in “cultural competency” and “culturally responsive teaching.”​

Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel of the Law Center, commented on the results of their investigation, “We found that the teachers were subjected to two days of Islamic propaganda, where Islam was glorified, Christianity disparaged, and America bashed—all funded by Novi taxpayers.” ​More here

8-22-19, * --  On Aug 20, 2019 the 10th Circuit Denver-based U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that the Colorado secretary of state violated the Constitution when he removed an E.C. delegate who had chosen to vote for John Kasich instead of Hillary Clinton. Michael Baca, a loyal Democrat delegate was attempting to be a part of a movement by Electoral College [E.C.] delegates across the country to pull away votes from both Trump and Hillary so as to send the election to the U.S. House of Representatives. [The Constitution provides that if no candidate receives 50% plus one vote (270 E.C. votes), then the top three candidates in the E.C. are to be presented to the House of Representatives and the House is to select the next president.]
 
Baca's plan was dependent upon 35 Republican delegates also casting their votes for Kasich. While Kasich would not have received any votes in the general election, his third-place finish in the E.C. would have made him eligible for the Republican-controlled House to elect him as president of the United States. This was Democrat's attempt #1 in their attempt bypass the states voters to remove Donald Trump.
 
Attempt #2: In another case of "Trump Derangement Syndrome" Democrats tried to circumvent the E.C. with their “National Popular Vote Interstate Compact” (NPVIC) [1]. It’s many Democrat leaders have encouraged state legislatures to enter into an agreement wherein the states in the NPVIC will award all their E.C. votes to the presidential candidate who wins the national popular vote. This agreement would take effect when necessary states joined totaling at least 270 E.C. votes.
 The problem with this harebrained scheme is that it attempts to work around the U.S. Constitution to legally amend the Constitution that now requires ¾ of the states to ratify and change it by new amendment or via a constitutional convention called for by the states. Now they want to change the rules and requirement as they know ¾ of the states won’t approve it.

The good news is that with the recent 10th Circuit’s ruling, clearly the Dems must realize the beginning of the end of their latest scheme to end the E.C. While the 10th Circuit decision doesn’t directly deal with the NPVIC, the reasoning of this decision will be used when lawyers argue the eventual unconstitutionality of the compact as without the Electoral College in America's Elections ... Four Border States Would Decide Every Election.

In June of 2013 the Czech Republic saw a history making event take place when five babies ... for the first time ... born in the nation.​

7-10-19, God had already blessed Alexandra and her husband Antonin with a son then they discovered that Alexandra was carrying five babies. It was an incredible discovery, especially considering she conceived naturally with no in vitro fertilization (IVF) or fertility treatments. That put the odds of this type of conception around one in 60 million! If that wasn’t impressive enough, the quintuplets made history as the first set in the Czech Republic.

8-21-19, Supporters of the Israel boycott are against the ban of the anti Semites to go to Israel. Those who support banning Omar & Tlaib argue that if someone denies your right to even "exist" — as Tlaib and Omar do through their support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions [BDS]movement against Israel — then why would you let them into your house? The women's trip itinerary shows they were planning a trip to “Palestine” and didn’t even mention visiting “Israel.”  They could have visited with the Congressional delegation to Israel, which consisted of 72 lawmakers: 41 Democrats and 31 Republicans who went without them on August 11, 2019. Clearly these two anti Israel Muslims had an agenda - they had no good intentions.
