10-31-23, God fearing people shouldn't participate in what America calls 'Halloween' - it's of the devil. Making jokes and dressing up as a witch or devil isn't funny. It's opening the door to evil. God's word clearly proclaims such practices have ancient foundation associated with the dead, evil demons and the worship of Satan. Resist the devil and he will flee from you!

History of the Colonies and the Revolutionary War with England |
1955, * -- We pay tribute to those American soldiers who poured out their full measure of devotion upon the altar of freedom. Recently when President Eisenhower toured the Battlefield at Valley Forge and was being shown from one historic spot to another, at the conclusion of the tour he said: “This is where they got it for us.” What did he mean? He meant that those men and thousands of others in all the wars that America has fought, purchased by their blood the freedoms that we enjoy today in “the land of the free, and the home of the brave.” Battlefields of the world today are hallowed and holy to every American, and we pause to give them our highest honors, humbly realizing the sacred trust that these, our war dead, have handed to us. | Even though the sacrifices of our war dead have been great, yet the greatest sacrifice of all time was made by the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ Who not only physically but spiritually fought that all mankind might live. It seemed like a futile, hopeless struggle as He took on Satan’s task force single-handed. The jeers of the rabble, the spittle of the soldiers and the sneering of the people were incidental compared to the inner struggle which was taking place in His soul. I watch Him, in fancy, as one hand is stretched out toward God and the other toward rebellious man, and He makes the connection and says: “It is finished.” He got through for us! We have neglected Him too long! John 15:13

MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL-CONGRESSIONAL COMPLEX? History.com [here] -- Some have claimed that USA Republican General and President Dwight Eisenhower intended to say “military-industrial-congressional complex,” [no he didn't] in order to explicitly call out Congress for its role in the growth of the military industry, but that he struck out the final term at the last minute to avoid offending lawmakers. However, according to James Ledbetter, author of Unwarranted Influence: Dwight D. Eisenhower and the Military-Industrial Complex => | <= evidence shows otherwise: A draft of the speech dated almost a month before it was delivered included the phrase “military-industrial complex” intact. It was clear Eisenhower and his advisers did see at least some members of Congress playing a role in the dangers the military-industrial complex posed to the public. Eisenhower and his fellow conservatives also viewed the growth of the military-industrial complex as part of a broader expansion of federal power that began with President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the New Deal. |
Why did Jesus entrust His Mother to the apostle John instead of His half brothers?
Mary was probably a widow at this point because we don’t hear more of Joseph. Though she had four other sons -listed in Matthew 13:55 (blood half brothers James, Joses, Simon, Jude - Joseph was their father) why did the Lord chose John to provide care for Mary after He was gone? Well, it’s important that Jesus’ brothers did not become believers until after His resurrection (John 7:5). Apparently, His brothers were not even present at His crucifixion. Jesus entrusted Mary to John, who was a faithful believer, was present and He trusted him more.
The beauty of John 19:26–27 is reflected in the care Jesus had for His mother, clearly teaching the importance of caring for widows; something Jesus personally applied during His final hours of His earthly ministry. James, the half-brother of Jesus, later recorded such care for widows is “pure religion.” “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” (James 1:27). And Jesus repeated the command to honor parents. Matthew 18:19; Mark 10:19

In the 1780s the song 'Auld Lang Syne' was written by Robert Burns and today has annually become an anthem sung the world over at New Year's Eve. The song is all about preserving old friendships and looking back over the events of the year evoking a sense of belonging, fellowship and nostalgia. It's long been a much-loved Scottish tradition to sing the song just before midnight...
Everyone stands in a circle holding hands, then at the beginning of the final verse ('And there's a hand my trusty friend') they cross their arms across their bodies so that their left hand is holding the hand of the person on their right and their right hand holds that of the person on their left. When the song ends, everyone rushes to the middle, still holding hands and probably giggling.
Most people only know the first verses; following in entirety:
Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And auld lang syne. Chorus: For auld lang syne, my jo, For auld lang syne, We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet, For auld lang syne, And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp! And surely I'll be mine! And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet, For auld lang syne. Chorus We twa hae run about the braes And pu'd the gowans fine; But we've wander'd mony a weary foot Sin auld lang syne. Chorus We twa hae paidl'd i' the burn, Frae mornin' sun till dine; But seas between us braid hae roar'd Sin auld lang syne. Chorus And there's a hand, my trusty fiere! And gie's a hand o' thine! And we'll tak a right guid willy waught, For auld lang syne. Chorus | Should old acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind? Should old acquaintance be forgot, And long, long ago. Chorus And for long, long ago, my dear For long, long ago, We'll take a cup of kindness yet, For long, long ago And surely youll buy your pint-jug! And surely I'll buy mine! And we'll take a cup of kindness yet, For long, long ago. Chorus We two have run about the hills And pulled the daisies fine; But we've wandered manys the weary foot Since long, long ago. Chorus We two have paddled in the stream, From morning sun till dine; But seas between us broad have roared Since long, long ago. Chorus And there's a hand, my trusty friend! And give us a hand of yours! And we'll take a deep draught of good-will For long, long ago. Chorus |

Even Democrat President Roosevelt in 1939 Thanked God
“Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor—and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their Joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness. “Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be—That we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks—for His kind care and protection of the People of this country previous to their becoming a Nation—for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of His providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war—for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed—for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and => | <= particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which HE hath been pleased to confer upon us. And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech HIM to pardon our national and other transgressions — to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually — to render our national government a blessing to all the People, by constantly being a government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed -- to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord — To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue and the increase of science among them and Us—and generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as HE alone knows to be best. Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789. Go. Washington, October 3, 1789 Note: Highlighted by Annette |
In the old days the Democrats honored God ... even President Roosevelt; his Thanksgiving proclamation from 1939 follows:
Thanksgiving Was Celebrated Before President Washington’s Official 1789 Proclamation 11-24-22, * -- Happy Thanksgiving 2022 America! Did you know that God was honored and thanked before the current USA federal holiday we now celebrate? On September 28, 1789 the first Federal Congress passed a resolution asking that President Washington to recommend to the nation a day of thanksgiving. On October 3, 1789 President Washington issued a proclamation naming Thursday, November 26, 1789 as a "Day of Publick Thanksgiving" [transcript above]. Five previous ones follow: | Before the Pilgrims celebrated Thanksgiving in Massachusetts, a gathering meant for giving thanks to God took place in colonial Virginia. English Captain John Woodlief and a crew of 35 men sailed down the James River on Dec. 4, 1619 and landed at what became Berkeley Plantation and celebrated the occasion he said: “We ordain that the day of our ship’s arrival, at the place assigned for plantation, in the land of Virginia shall be yearly and perpetually kept holy as a day of thanksgiving to Almighty God.” [1] Transcript from 1789 here *Excerpted and adapted full original report by Michael Gryboski, Christian Post more here |
Democrat Leaders Removed God From 2008 & 2012 DNC Platform
Sadly the modern day Democrats want to remove God from our nation. And in 2008 they removed any mention of God from their party platform. [1] And in 2012 they did it again and then added it back ... but the awful crowd booed when it was announced.

11-23-22, Gary Varvel -- America needs to give thanks to our Creator, the only one true God. All of our problems that divide us as a nation could be resolved if we all sought the God of the Bible. God made people to worship.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD…”
... “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
