Comics, 2-19-23: Buttigieg & EPA Regan take heat!

Peter Buttigieg, (born January 19, 1982, South Bend, Indiana, U.S.), Politician who was mayor (2012–20) of South Bend, Indiana before being elevated to Secretary of Transportation (2021). He's the first openly gay cabinet member in American history and many believe that's the primary reason he got the job.

There are roughly 1,000 cases a year of a train derailing... [that's supposed to make us feel better? Who authorized setting the chemicals on fire, Pete?]
Pete Buttigieg wrote on Twitter. 'We're constrained by law on some areas of rail regulation (like the braking rule withdrawn by the Trump administration in 2018 because of a law passed by Congress in 2015), but we are using the powers we do have to keep people safe.'

1. Interesting that the EPA leader, Mike Regan is an air quality expert yet we can only assume he said 'go ahead' and burn the chemicals which polluted the air!

Ole Joe Biden's EPA administrator Michael Regan (born August 6, 1976) is American environmental regulator. He formerly served as the secretary of No Carolina's Dept of Environmental Quality and air quality specialist in the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He has a track record for addressing racism and supporting policy to address climate change. He was in the border town of Palestine, Ohio on 2-17-23 [the event happened 2 weeks prior on 2/3/23] speaking with locals, surveying the scene and addressing the public. ​Meanwhile Ohio's GOP Sen. J.D. Vance challenged Regan to drink the tap water his agency has deemed safe in East Palestine. 
'I think that if the EPA administrator wants to stand here and tell people that the tap water is safe, by all means, they should be willing to drink it.'

Acid rain on cars from the fallout from intentional chemical burn in Ohio: ​Up to 2.5 million gallons of one of the most toxic substances known to man have been released into the air, water and soil of the Eastern Seaboard, and are presently making their way south and east. Acid rain, which in this case is hydrochloric acid mixed with concentrated, unburned vinyl chloride, has (so far) been reported in every direction: 

• West: 400 miles west to Lafayette (probably further)
• North: 1200 miles north up to Durham, Canada;
• East: 1200 miles east to NYC and Boston today more
• South: 800 miles southwest to Kentucky so far
