Scripture for Today, 5-11-20: Jubilee Year

​Judgment and the 120th Jubilee
The Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai: “Speak to the Israelites telling them: ‘...Then you are to sound a trumpet loudly in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month; you will sound it throughout your land on the Day of Atonement. …The fiftieth year will be your Jubilee; you are not to sow, reap what grows by itself, or harvest its untended vines. It is to be holy to you because it is the Jubilee; you may only eat its produce directly from the field'.”

Leviticus 25:9-12; Mark 13:30, 37; 1 Peter 4:7

3-28-20, The 7th year Sabbath and 50th year Jubilee were to be a time of liberation, restoration & celebration. However, according to the Hebrew law, there is no record showing that Israel EVER observed the Jubilee year or the seven year sabbatical years. For 490 years they refused to allow their land to rest.  So, because of their disobedience, God allowed them to be taken captive to Babylon for 70 years. So the land back home in Canaan enjoyed its 70 Sabbath years of rest.
 
In early April 2020, the 120th Jubilee year began; which will be year 6,000 from creation of the world. [1] In March 2020 the world nations began to lockdown their workforces in an effort to block the spread of the virus known as Covid-19 or Coronavirus from Wuhan, China. On March 19, 2020 the USA had ten states begin locking down in California. [2]
 
As of April 16, 2020 the USA has released 16,622 prisoners from jail. [3].  Currently the oft touted Socialist plan to pay people [4] for simply being alive trusting they will be productive has new support as jobs vanish while the Government issue trillions to citizens to provide necessities. In the meantime businesses and individuals are going bankrupt.
 
On May 7, 2020, the world’s G-20 group of leaders [5] agreed to unite their efforts against the global threat of the coronavirus. [..] The “new normal” is that most economic activity could be shut down for an extended period during this time of de-facto martial law. [up to a year is expected]. Worldwide more than three billion people [world population 7.5 billion] are living under forced government lockdown.
 
US Federal regulators have ordered mortgage lenders to relieve homeowners of house payments [up to a year] also landlords to allow delays in rents from tenants who have suffered a loss of income over the lockdown. [6]

God's ‘Jubilee Year’ instruction [Leviticus 25:9-12] says His people should repent and rest.  (Isaiah 30:15) The Lord Jesus declared that His ministry fulfilled the Jubilee, the “year of the Lord’s favor...Today as you listen, this Scripture has been fulfilled.” (Luke 4:16-21)
 
We are seeing a cessation of wars, captives set free, people’s debt payment delayed or forgiven and a redistribution of wealth. [Deuteronomy 15:1-2]

Apparently the Covid virus plague is the Lord’s judgment on the world for rampant sin with no remorse or repentance. The world blasphemes the Lord God almighty with continued deliberate wickedness of idolatry, legalized abortion [even of live breathing children], corruption, greed, divorce, legalized homosexual same sex marriage and all manner of debauchery and depravity.

​And as it was in the days of Noah & Lot before destruction came … they ate, drank, married wives, they were given in marriage, until the flood and fire and brimstone came and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. (Luke 17:26-30)
 
In 26 AD the 30th Jubilee year, the Lord Jesus officially began His earthly ministry so  its fitting that He would cap off this 120th Jubilee with the Rapture of His bride. [Matthew 24:42; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-44]

This year 2020 has a couple dates that look promising for the Lord’s trumpet call, Pentecost [depending on the calendar used]: May 31st or July 24th? Jesus said to watch and pray. [Mark 13:30, 37]
 
Even so, come Lord Jesus.
