8-24-23, In the many battles the Lord sent Gideon and Israel out on were all victorious against the idolatrous peoples of the Philistines. The people wanted Gideon to be their leader - but he said NO, THE LORD WILL RULE OVER YOU. No good man can be pleased with any honor to himself, which belongs only to God.
