Isaiah 34:11 Owls Cleanup Rodents
5-5-17, Clarion -- While a dog may be man’s best friend, in war torn Iraq there’s a new 'friend' – the owl. The Holy Bible speaks of animals in desolate places:
"Wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs [wild goats] shall dance there." Isaiah 13:21 "The cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness." Isaiah 34:11
In reality, the owl proves to be extremely useful in wartime. Many of the bombed Iraqi villages were plagued by rodents – rats, mice and others that further damaged any surviving agricultural land. They also spread disease.
Apparently owls are among the animals whose number increases in war situations because of this readily-available supply of food. As a result, the rodent population is kept in check.
