6-21-19, * -- Biblical hermeneutics is the study of the principles of interpretation concerning the books of the Bible; two methods of biblical interpretation, or hermeneutics:

1. Literal, grammatical, historical, and contextual reading of a passage is taken at face value, unless the surrounding passages convey otherwise. WHEN THE PLAIN SENSE OF SCRIPTURE MAKES COMMON SENSE, SEEK NO OTHER SENSE; THEREFORE, TAKE EVERY WORD AT ITS PRIMARY, ORDINARY, USUAL, LITERAL MEANING UNLESS THE FACTS OF THE IMMEDIATE CONTEXT, STUDIED IN THE LIGHT OF RELATED PASSAGES AND AXIOMATIC AND FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS INDICATE CLEARLY OTHERWISE.  Having a literal interpretation just means we take the text at face value, unless by doing so, makes the passage nonsensical. [See Jesus literally died on a 'tree' Galatians 3:1; Acts 5:30]
2. Non-Literal: means the passage is not taken in the above manner, but either spiritual metaphor or simile, figurative or allegorical approach is applied to the text at hand. When Jesus says, “I am the door…” (John 10:9), we know that Jesus isn’t literally a ‘door’. He is using a metaphor to convey a deeper meaning that one must enter through Him, in order to receive salvation. Also, in Isaiah 55:12, when it states that “all the trees of the field will clap their hands”, we understand that to be a personification of a non-human object. A Dispensationalist recognizes that through the ages God has interacted in differing ways with mankind:

• Not everyone has a forbidden tree to eat from.
• Not everyone has an ark to build.
• Not everyone has a burning bush to talk to
• Not everyone has a giant to slay
• The entire Bible wasn’t given to Adam…it was given in varying measures to His chosen spokesmen over a period of 1,600 years. This is known as ‘progressive revelation’. Middletown Bible Church gives a good demonstration of this:

6-21-19, * -- While this present age darkens and our world seemingly becomes more unhinged by the day, we know according to Scripture, that God has a grand plan for us, and a future beyond compare. I look to the future, because that is where I’m going to spend the rest of my life. Understanding scripture increases and strengthens our faith.
 
Bible Prophecy: God’s foretelling of what’s to come. Since God exists outside of time, He is able to see the end from the beginning, and all therein. (Isaiah 46:9-10) 28% of the Bible is prophetic in nature, beginning with Genesis 3:15 (protoevangelium). There were ‘near’ and ‘far’ prophecies. Near being fulfilled in the life time of the person delivering the message, and far, would be any of which would come to pass beyond that prophets life.
 
Eschatology: the word being a compound of two Greek words, Eschatos, meaning last or final things; and ology, meaning the study of, so it is a part of theology concerned primarily with the study of last things or final events. So while all Eschatology fits into the concept of Bible prophecy, not all Bible prophecy is eschatological in nature. As example: Bible prophecies concerning Christ’s first coming were prophetic when they were given, but are not considered eschatological today.
 
Probably the most maligned, and misunderstood theological doctrine in all of Christianity, is that of Bible prophecy. Granted, every major doctrine within Christendom has been abused and/or perverted to some extent, but none as much as Bible prophecy. Why would God give us something that has the potential to receive so much negative attraction? Answer: Because ...

• ~It defends the authoritative power, truth, inerrancy, and divine inspiration of the Bible (Isaiah 46:9-10; Jeremiah 30, 31; Ezekiel 36-39, etc.) “Thus saith the Lord”
• ~No other book, religious or otherwise contains the same claims, nor the perfect prophetic track record of the Holy Bible. (Isaiah 55:11)
• ~The Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled 109 specific prophecies concerning His birth, life, death, and resurrection. He used prophecy to confirm that His message was true, and did so by telling His disciples ahead of time, so when it happened, they knew it what was supposed to happen. (John 14:29; 16:4, Luke 24:25-27)
• ~Gives hope in dark days (2 Peter 1:19-21, 1 Thess. 4:13-18)
• ~ We are commanded to watch and understand the times we live in. (Mark 13:35-37; Luke 12:37; 1 Thess. 5:1-8)
• ~Gives a practical purpose for everyday life: Prophecy is not meant to tickle the ear, but to turn our feet toward God.
• ~Meant to provoke us to holy living. (1 John 3:2-3; 2 Peter 3:11; Titus 2:13)
• ~A powerful tool for evangelism. (1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9)
• ~Serves as warning that time had a starting point, and likewise, has an end.
• ~Revives a sense of urgency in our lives concerning the coming of Christ (Matt. 24:42)
• ~Is all about Christ (either directly, or indirectly). (Rev. 19:10; Luke 24:25-27)

I’m fond of saying that error begets only more error. And while eschatology is not core to one’s salvation, it is key to understanding the complete word of God. How we understand the end, will largely drive how we live today.

6-21-19, Washington Times - Historical images of George Washington’s life will soon vanish from San Francisco’s Washington High School over accusations of racism.

In 1936, Victor Arnautoff, a left-leaning artist who went on to join the Communist Party, created a 13-panel mural that was meant to show an accurate depiction of U.S. history — warts and all. His art, however, was deemed so offensive this week by school board officials that they will spend anywhere from $375,000 to $825,000 to hide it from public view.

The “Fog City” fight over the mural resulted in the school board to decide which of three options in the fate of the mural: 

1. covering it up with curtains, 
2. covering it with panels
3. painting over it,” the station reported. More here

Critics of the mural claim it “glorifies slavery, genocide, colonization, manifest destiny, white supremacy, oppression, etc.,” the Richmond District Blog reported April 9, 2019. ​School board officials are expected to confirm the method of removing or hiding the mural on June 25, 2019.

6-18-19, Devonshire Community Public School, in Canada a first grade six-year-old watched a YouTube video as part of her teacher’s lesson plan on gender identity.  The video was entitled:

 “He, She and They?!?—Gender: Queer Kid Stuff #2”

The video contained statements such as, “some people aren’t boys or girls,” and that there are people who do not “feel like a ‘she’ or a ‘he’” and therefore might not have a gender.

The young teacher, told the children that “there is no such thing as girls and boys,” and “girls are not real and boys are not real.” Soon after the six year old daughter asked her parents, Jason and Pamela Buffone repeatedly why her identify as a girl was "not real."  repeatedly why her identity as a girl was “not real” and if she could “go to a doctor” about the fact that she was a girl; she was clearly traumatized by this abomination of a 'teaching.'

Mrs Buffone said: "The Ontario Human rights Code states that a poisoned environment is a form of discrimination. We're going to provide evidence that the manner in which (the teacher) was teaching the concept of gender identity resulted in a poisoned environment. The principal further exacerbated the situation in that the only option provided to us was to remove our daughter from the classroom for these lessons, which is exclusionary treatment."

South Carolina: Islamic ‘terrorist sympathizer’ placed bomb inside teddy bear
6-19-19, Fox News -- In February 2019 Wesley Ayers, 26, plead guilty that he had placed six devices – three bombs in 'teddy bears' and three “hoax devices” – on roadways around Anderson County, South Carolina USA between January 24 and February 24, 2018.

A pipe bomb with nails was found inside a teddy bear sitting in a basket in the middle of a road. Bomb technicians were able to disable the device after a motorist reported the out-of-place stuffed animal to police. No one was injured.

6-21-19, Winston-Salem Journal, The military operation was called off around 7:30 p.m. Washington time, after Pres Trump had spent most of Thursday discussing Iran strategy ... The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guard's aerospace division Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, standing in front of what Iranian authorities described as pieces of the U.S. Navy RQ-4A Global Hawk drone were collected by Iranians. He told Iranian state television that Iran had given repeated warnings before launching a missile at the U.S. military surveillance drone.

What about Hebrews 6:4, 10:26-31? It appears to say that God will "reject" those who willfully continue to sin in disobedience to His word. There's good reason to suppose that the "willful sin" of verse Hebrews 10:26 is the same as the "unpardonable sin" that Jesus mentions in Matthew 12:31. It's the sin of rejecting Christ altogether (otherwise known as "the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit"); the sin of persistent self-hardening. It's the process by which an individual sears his conscience and stiffens his neck against God. If it goes on long enough, the person eventually reaches the point where genuine repentance is impossibility.

However, it's possible that Hebrews 10:26-31 doesn't refer to struggling Christians who hate their sin and struggle against it. In all likelihood it’s aimed at hardened, bitter people who only seem to be Christians.

If individuals insist on living an unchristian life willfully and persistently commit the same sin over and over again without remorse and without showing any evidence of a genuine desire to change even after "receiving the knowledge of the truth," we suspect that he/she never really accepted Christ in the first place and doubt the sincerity of their faith. Such a person is like the demons mentioned in James 2:19: they "believe" the truth, but refuse to grant it their personal allegiance. In a case like this, it is absolutely true to say that "there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins," since Jesus Himself is that sacrifice. [See, Nehemiah 1:9; 1 Corinthians 5:10-12]]

5-28-19, Severe weather broke out late Sunday, May 26, 2019 and continued through across the Plains. There were numerous tornado reports in eastern New Mexico and Colorado, western Kansas and West Texas. A wind gust of 82 mph was clocked in the Oklahoma Panhandle.
On March 18, 1925 the "Tri-State Tornado" killed 695 people and injured 2,027. It traveled more than 300 miles through Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. It was rated an F5 at the top of the old Fujita scale (with winds of more than 260 mph).

​6-19-19, * -- Did you know that President Donald Trump announced his bid for reelection last night before a jam-packed audience in Orlando, Florida? [1] Unless you are "plugged in" to the political scene, you may have missed it. While the news media has been covering almost every minute detail of hateful, falsified, hypocritical and stupid comments and policies of the some 20 candidates for the Democrat Party presidential nomination, there is not much coverage of President Trump's announcement. It was difficult to even find the text of his speech. What coverage there was - used excerpts of his speech to characterize what he said in a negative light.

For example, Salvador Rizzo of the Washington Post said Trump's speech was "littered with the same false or misleading claims he has so often repeated as president. Phony numbers on trade. Unfounded claims about immigrants. False statements about special counsel Robert S. Mueller III's investigation. Fishy economic statistics and wild exaggerations about his presidential accomplishments." [..snip]

Fox News carried the entire event live, CNN only aired six minutes and MSNBC did not carry any of it." [it was over 60 minutes] [1]

Despite the media wanting to brand President Trump a liar, there were some very poignant truths in Trump's words. President Trump said, for example, "We went through the greatest witch hunt in political history...It was all an illegal attempt to overturn the election, spy on our campaign which is what they did to subvert our democracy."  He also said, "This election is a verdict on whether we want to live in a country where the people who lose an election, refuse to concede and spend the next two years trying to shred our Constitution and rip your country apart."

The president rightly said that his opponents are a radical, unholy alliance. However, the news media doesn't want to address that charge because they are part of it, and they agree with the radicalism. Thus, they twist every word of Trump's speech.

As 2 Timothy 3:13 says, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived."

This entire election season will be one of deception. Seek the truth.

6-17-19, Jim Stockstill* -- Back in early 2017 when the Holy Spirit began to deal with me about forming the “NATIONAL WAR COUNCIL” [NWC] several issues were uppermost in the decision making. Our foremost concern was the reticence of many of the ecumenical community, both leaders and layman, to vocally and actively stand with our newly elected President Trump against the onslaught of decadence and corruption that was permeating American society. One important issue was whether or not we should become exempt from United States IRS Tax Code section 501(c)(3) [1]. 

Following are the topics we considered:

1. We felt it would be irresponsible, as the church (Ecclesia) and nation, to sit back and ignore the fact that we are at “war” for the core values and principles on which our nation was founded. The ongoing war we fight today is “against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

2. The name itself was debated with others as we questioned whether “NATIONAL WAR COUNCIL” was too provocative. Would it be misconstrued by the media and possibly alienate some in the ecumenical community? After much prayer, the decision was made to retain the name given by Holy Spirit and not to succumb to the current widespread  “political correctness” hysteria.

3. Searching the Bible and history we felt the First Council of Nicaea (AD 325) convened by Roman Emperor Constantine I irreversibly altered the initial organization (Matthew 16:18) and structure (Ephesians 4:11) Yeshua [Jesus Christ] established for the church (Ecclesia). There is no evidence showing that the five-fold structure established for the first century church ever appealed to King Herod Agrippa or Roman Emperor Caligula for tax relief or benefits. On the contrary, they were heavily taxed by Rome and despised the Jewish tax collectors (publicans). [The Lord Jesus also paid His tax; Matthew 17:24–27.]

4. We found that there is no legal requirement to be approved by the IRS 501(C) (3). There is a false assumption by many churchgoers that in order to be an "official church" one must obtain IRS status.  Sadly, the premise is a well conceived subterfuge. Therefore, NWC has chosen the structure of the early church and not to organize as an 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization. The purpose of the IRS was “to collect revenue for the general treasury,” but this religious exempt amendment has turned the organization into the “speech police.” [..snip] 

On May 4, 2017, President Trump signed the "Presidential Executive Order Promoting Free Speech and Religious Liberty."  While the President doesn't have the constitutional authority to change the Johnson Amendment [2]; he did sign an executive order instructing the Treasury Dept to be lenient in its enforcement of current law against religious organizations. [Read it here] The order defines adverse action as the imposition of any tax or tax penalty, delay or denial of tax-exempt status and more. An array of experts and groups say Trump's order doesn't achieve much. In order to revoke the amendment, the President is working with Representative Steve Scalise (R-La.) as a member of the Ways and Means Committee to sponsor the needed legislation. 

However, the strident and successful efforts by Pres Trump, we see that the animosity is still with us as displayed in the heavy-handed and antagonistic treatment of Judge (now Supreme Court Justice) Brett Kavanaugh during his Sept 2018 confirmation hearings. The manner that Judge Kavanaugh and beautiful family were treated was both disgraceful and a defining moment convincing us to form a new organization willing to fight for our nation and the traditional values on which it was founded.

6-18-19, Business Insider -- Sometimes our expectations of modern technology can transcend reality ... and in a dangerous way. While Tesla is on the path to creating a fully autonomous automobile, it appears that drivers of its current cars are growing a little too confident in their purchases. 

Tesla's autopilot feature is only at stage 2 or 3, which means the cars are only partially automated in certain conditions. Tesla's website explains,  "Autopilot enables your car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically within its lane. Current Autopilot features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous."
A gut-wrenching video from ABC7 Eyewitness news shows a man fast asleep in the driver's seat of a Tesla on one of the busiest highways in Southern California. Eyewitness Shawn Miladinovich told NBC4 News, "I realised he was fully sleeping. Eyes shut, hands nowhere near the steering wheel."  Some customers clearly do not understand the distinction between an Advanced Driver-Assistance System and a fully autonomous vehicle. More here

6-17-19, Bill Wilson* -- Christianity is under attack in American politics and the Church should wake up and take action under this current Christian-friendly president to become relevant and make disciples.   There is a group of people who are out to gain power, and in doing so, have absolutely no reservation about destroying whatever [whomever] is in their way to gain that power.  They will use any method that they believe will help them and they will eliminate anyone or anything that will hinder them. If you do not believe this is ingrained in their life's philosophy, let' take a step back to 2005 and peek into a debate that arose in the halls of Congress. Check out the themes, the names and the political party, and ask yourself, 'what has changed?'
 
On Monday, June 27, 2005, the Daily Jot reported: "Last week, the House of Representatives was considering the Defense Appropriations bill.  Wisconsin Democrat David Obey wanted an amendment to reflect the opposition of Congress against religious evangelism at the Air Force Academy.  Indiana Congressman John Hostetler was offended and said that Democrats will take any opportunity they can to demonize Christians. Democrats immediately leapt to their feet and demanded Hostetler be censored for his accusation. Hostetler said later, 'If you tell Christians they can't tell others about their faith, then they can't exercise their Christian religion.' He said proselytizing involves a forced conversion to Christianity, something that did not occur at the academy.
 
"In the weeks leading up to this minor explosion on the House floor, Democrat Party Chairman Howard Dean mocked the Republican Party by saying it was comprised of "white Christians."  New York Democrat Senator Hillary Clinton said at a fundraiser that the Republican approach to politics was... messianic... meaning that, in her words, "Some honestly believe they are motivated by the truth, they are motivated by a higher calling, they are motivated by, I guess, a direct line to the heavens."

The legislation introduced by both sides is also telltale.  Typically, Democrats are busy with bills such as the Unification of American Families Act, a pro-homosexual bill, while Republicans are trying to stop child molesters.
"Republicans are not the "be all end all" for Christianity by any account, but distinct battle lines are drawn and fought each day. 

Christians have been given a Christian-friendly president with time to turn hearts toward God, yet the church appears to take this as a respite rather than as a time of labor. This is not a time to be angry at misguided politicians in either party.

Ephesians 6:12 says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

The gnarled, thorny trees grown almost exclusively in southwestern Morocco and western Algeria may not be pretty, but they attract plenty of goats. Herds of hungry goats climb their branches, sometimes more than one dozen in a single tree. Some goat keepers modify the trees to make them easier to climb, they cut some branches off the trees so the goats can start climbing the trees more easily.

The 'fruit' of the Argan tree is what the goats are after. It looks like a shriveled olive or like an acorn from an oak; annually-  around June - it ripens. The resourceful goats often climb up to 30 feet above ground for their meal that's up to 84 percent of their diet. They eat and swallow the whole fruit, even though it's the pulp hiding under the thick peel that that covers a nut that  they do not digest. This nut is 'harvested' by humans ... 

The goat swallows/digests the peel and pulp, but the seed is either spitted or "pooped" out. The seeds of the fruit are valuable — humans retrieve the seeds that are pressed yielding argan oil, valued in beauty treatments and foodie circles. By some reports, argan oil exports bring in $6.5 million. [A study titled "Tree-climbing goats disperse seeds during rumination" [to chew repeatedly for an extended period] and was just published in Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment.]
