Pres. Trump says he's open to a pathway to citizenship for Illegal Migrants aka 'Dreamers'
1-24-18, Senior White House officials say that President Trump is proposing a plan providing a path to citizenship for 1.8 million of the so-called “Dreamer” illegal migrants [aka DACA]. It includes tighter restrictions on legal immigration & $25 billion for border security. This preview is cast as a compromise that could pass the Senate. The proposal represents a reversal for Pres Trump, who promised to eliminate the DACA program that protects illegal migrants. This will likely find resistance from many of the president’s conservative allies.
