On Dec 12, 2017, a special election will be held in Alabama for the United States Senate in Alabama. This will decide who will fill former Senator Jeff Sessions's seat through January 3, 2021. The front runners are Roy Moore, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama and Doug Jones, a former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama.
