Nowhere in Scripture does it condone child abuse, but it does recommend disciplining your children. A little spanking is meant to teach children right from wrong. If you don’t discipline your child, there is a great chance that your child grows up to be lazy, disrespectful and unlawful thinking they can do whatever they want. Spanking is done out of love in their best interest so they will grow to be respectful of God & citizens of the world.

Withholding corporal punishment from an unruly disrespectful child is a huge mistake; look at the result. The promotion of reasoning and talking to the child only is a lie of the devil.

God never said to physically smack the kids. It doesn't change if you call it "Spanking". Smacking kids creates criminals, psychopaths, drug addicts, and those with mental health problems & causes suicides.

hitting is about the adult & never about the child. hitting doesn't stop misbehavior, it only makes the childs behavior worse.

I for one will never physically hit my kids on the rear end with my hands, belt, wood, or a shoe. I will let them do whatever they want.

smacking children creates juvenile delinquencies, kids hit each other, and then they are likely to rebel against authority figure & end up in prison for violent crimes later in life.

Hello anon,
I understand your viewpoint; however I do have life experience and God's word that disputes it.

I personally have two grown married sons. They were spanked regularly - they are hard working family men who have never been in trouble.

Have you read the scriptures in Proverbs that says 'spare the ROD [rod hitting] spoil the child?' Or the one that says don't worry about their crying they will not die? It's not abuse ... it's training to be respectful law abiding citizens. Here are a few:

1. Proverbs 23:13-14 Don’t fail to discipline your children. They won’t die if you spank them. Physical discipline may well save them from death.
2. Proverbs 13:24 Whoever does not discipline his son hates him, but whoever loves him is diligent to correct him.
3. Proverbs 22:15 A child’s heart has a tendency to do wrong, but the rod of discipline removes it far away from him.
4. Proverbs 22:6 Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.

We don't have to train our kids to do wrong; it comes naturally.

Example: 4 year old with cookie all over his face and hands - you say to the child ... "Did you take a cookie?" He lies and says, 'No.' They naturally lie. They naturally are aggressive and selfish - taking toys from their siblings - fighting, biting. This behavior must be diverted - sending a four year old to his room for stealing a cookie or lying won't work. A slap on the hands or bottom - if done consistently - does work. God said so.

Yes, God does say to 'smack' the kids. God doesn't condone child abuse or actual physical damage and unnecessary discipline. However, corporal punishment is necessary to develop a respectful person; increasing my list of scriptures as follows:

7. Proverbs 19:18 Discipline your son while there is hope; don’t be intent on killing him.
8. 1 Corinthians 16:14 Let all that you do be done in love.
9. Proverbs 17:25 Foolish children make their father sad and cause their mother great sorrow.

The prisons are full but it's not because the criminals were spanked as children; the opposite is probably true. I think the statistics you have are erroneous, 'Anon' ... I have raised two sons using God's method ... my boys became hard working, honest, law abiding adults; family men. My parents used corporal punishment on me when I was disrespectful.

God's way is always the best way.

Hi again Anon,
I don't have time or inclination to watch videos. Like I said, my experience and knowing of others who follow God's admonitions of success with corporal punishment is enough for me.

I do realize many child experts disagree ... the result? mayhem in the streets. Disrespect and dishonor. Hate and violence; kids must be taught to be good - we are all sinners and only God can cure the wicked heart. We must obey Him.

Corporal Punishment/Spanking/hitting a child doesn't work.
Children aren't born evil. You know very well if you hit another adult you can go to prison for assault, if you hit animals you can go to prison for animal cruelty. children deserve the same amount of respect as your other adult co-workers and your employer.

Spanking is violence and is a gateway to violence.

Spanking is legal in the USA & yet the USA has the highest prison population & mental illness in the world.

PAY ATTENTION TO EVERYTHING IN DETAIL & DONT BE STUBBORN: Did you ever watch all those videos that I sent to you? If you ignored them then you are very narrow minded and you refuse to look into anything because the more proof is shown to you the more you will find it very hard to rebuttal and you only get more angrier. you are still living in denial.

Jesus never advocated corporal punishment or hitting children. Hitting a child isn't discipline. That was Satan who advocates hitting children on the buttocks, legs, hands, face, and head. You are a false prophet. When I was hit, it didn't teach me any kind of respect for authority. I went to go seek therapy and counseling, I was able to get the healing i needed and i even prayed to Jesus to heal my heart.

Children aren't born evil violent. they learned the behavior from their parents. parents who hit do it because they don't have the patience to teach. you don't teach by using objects to hit children. being hit teaches children to be hitters and to use violence as a way to resolve the conflict. what would you do if your employer were to smack you for being rude to a client or for not making enough sells or working hard enough? I bet you would call the police for assault, sexual harassment. you have alot of anger in you because your parents hit you and you dont want to face what your parents did to you.

I know that you are living in denial when you say "I was hit and I turned out just fine". If you turned out fine then you wouldn't be hitting your own children. I bet you are more then likely in your 50's and 60's and you still haven't gotten over what your parents did to you. I know you are from the south and that you came from a poor financial background. when you hit a child, you are disrespecting them.

I am a proud parent of 2 children and i never laid hands on any of them them and so far they are very well behaved because I taught them well and I teach by example. I have read psychology books, went to seminars, and even looked into peaceful parenting which you refused to do. I faced my father for what he did to me physically and I don't speak with him. I am a very good role model to my children and I listen to them. I always say nice things to them. I show respect to my children. Children always mimic the behavior of adults. my children are more then fine, they are thriving. I always talked to them, give them guidance, and spend quality time with them, i taught them good manners like to"please" and to always say thank you. They are very civilized human beings who deserve to be treated equal to adults. I use positive reinforcement and reward good behavior. They are very kind and avoid using violence because I don't use violence to solve problems. when I am kind to my kids, they are kind to me back. I have more self-control. I never once had to strike them or inflict any sort of pain on them. Spanking is for savages who don't have the mental capabilities to properly raise & discipline children. Spanking isn't in the same category as discipline. Punishment and Discipline aren't the same.

Look at the European countries and other countries that have banned corporal punishment. they don't hit or spank their children and they are more then well behaved. They are very intelligent and they know how to solve problems without the use of violence. European countries are more civilized then countries like the USA where corporal punishment is legal.

1."What gives you the right to smack your children around?? I know this wasn't the first time you have done this?"

2. what did it feel like when you were their age to get smacked around like that? by adults who were much bigger then you hitting you because you were little.

If you didn't like it then I need you to go ask your children for forgiveness for what you just did to them because of how it felt when you got spanked/hit/beat up at their age.
