Happy Valentine's Day!

2-14-19, History behind this holiday that honors love: In 740 AD Rome there was a wicked emperor Claudias who persecuted Christians. He prohibited young people from marrying. This was based on the hypothesis that unmarried men were better soldiers than married soldiers.

Enter Father Valentine: he defied Claudius and secretly married young lovers; but his good deed of love was found out and Father Valentine was prosecuted he was executed by beheading. He is the man behind the holiday.

Almighty God has given mankind the wonderful gift of human love and sexuality that is blessed by God in marriage. However, don't be surprised if the 'gushing' love that you have for someone changes to something less "gushing" as the years pass in a marriage. Honor your vows be kind to one another - stay married!
