Biography of Melania Knavs Trump
3-14-20, Melania Knavs [Knauss] Trump born April 26, 1970  is a Slovenian-American, wife of of the 45th president of the United States Donald John Trump. At the time of her birth, Slovenia was part of the communist nation Yugoslavia. She worked as a fashion model in Milan, Paris and in 1996 New York City. In 2001, Melania Knavs became a permanent resident of the United States and US citizen in 2006 after she married Donald Trump in 2005.
The first lady is a polyglot speaking six languages English, Slovene, Serbo-Croatian, Italian, German and French. Although she attended a Slovenia University studying design and architecture; she did not graduate says Professor Blaz Matija Vogelnik.
The only other First Lady not born in the US is the wife of President John Quincy Adams [1825-1829], Louisa Adams, born in England. Melania is the first wife of a US president to be a naturalized citizen and whose first native language is not English.
