6-22-19, BusinessInsider -- The Iran deal did not restrict Iran’s ballistic missile program that was not included in Obama's 2015 agreement – its nuclear activities beyond 2025 nor its role in conflicts in Yemen and Syria. Pres Trump’s announcement was hailed by Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Washington’s principal allies in the Middle East. According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a long-time opponent of the agreement, "The deal was a recipe for disaster, a disaster for our region, a disaster for the peace of the world. For the past months, Iran has been transferring weapons to its forces in Syria..."
Iran: Women's rights defenders imprisoned for peacefully protesting the forced hijab [head sack] veil
4-18-19, According to Amnesty International Iranian authorities must stop harassing, arresting and imprisoning women’s rights defenders who peacefully protest against Iran’s degrading and discriminatory laws forcing women to wear the hijab/veil. Iran must release those detained on this basis immediately and unconditionally. Two women’s rights defenders, Yasmin Aryani and Monireh Arabshahi, have been detained in the past week and that a third activist, Vida Movahedi has been detained since October 2018; she was sentenced to one year in prison protesting forced veiling [aka hijab head sack].
