As prescribed by relevant provisions outlined in the 12th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The vice presidential race is decided by the Senate as also stipulated by the 12th Amendments. While each senator gets one vote for the vice president, the House vote is determined by state delegation rather than individual lawmakers => | —so each state, from Alaska’s one delegate to Texas’ 36 delegates, all only get one vote [September 2020 before election]:
