 Lyle Steed Jeffs, along with 10 other members of the Fundamentalist Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS aka Mormons), were charged with defrauding the government of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP aka food stamps) benefits, as well as conspiracy to commit money laundering in February. FBI warns that Jeffs should be considered armed and dangerous. The men were released June 9 to await their trial, scheduled for October. Jeffs escaped 10 days later, around June 18 or 19, possibly by coating his feet with olive oil and slipping out of his ankle monitor.
