 God's Ten Commands say nothing about amputation! Islam was created 600 years after Christianity not to affirm the Bible, but to discredit it. Currently in Nigeria, the implementation of Sharia law has been a contentious issue, particularly in the northern states where it has been adopted alongside secular laws. While supporters argue that it promotes moral behavior and social justice, critics contend that it can lead to human rights violations, especially when severe punishments, such as amputation or stoning. 
The American people are not at all silly for opposing sharia. Even the supposedly benign laws of sharia regarding marriage and divorce that Imam Rauf claims are a religious right, totally destroy a woman's right to divorce and retain custody of her children.
