Safe Spaces Designated For the Abandonment of Children

6-9-17, Houston firefighters discovered a healthy one year old baby boy that was left outside.in front of fire station. In 1999 under Gov George W. Bush the BABY MOSES LAW was passed allowing parents to leave their child at any hospital, fire station, free-standing emergency center or emergency medical service (EMS) station in Texas. These institutions are considered safe and legal spaces to leave a child. The baby left should be 60 days or younger and also be handed over to an official who works at the designated safe place. If a baby is left at a fire station unharmed, then the parents will not be prosecuted for abandonment or neglect.
