 Israel Deters Attackers by Demolishing Their Homes Backlog of houses of guilty terrorists to be destroyed10-25-18, IsraelNatlNews -- The Jewish state of Israel's Education Minister Naftali Bennett calls for the government to ramp up demolitions of terrorist's homes. Home demolitions are punishments for the terrorists who brutally murder innocent Israelis and others, but this is mainly a deterrence for future terrorists. Bennett said, "it's a disgrace that 102 homes belonging to terrorists have not yet been destroyed and that the families of terrorists receive an allowance is a disgrace." He was referring to the monthly payouts the Palestinian Authority gives to the families of terrorists [here] who have killed Israelis. The policy is meant to have a psychological effect for a would-be attacker whose family would be left homeless, some suggest house demolitions are also designed to offset the economic benefits of committing an attack. House demolitions date back to a 1945 British Mandate emergency regulation in pre-state Palestine that allowed the British military to confiscate and destroy any home used to discharge a weapon, or any home used by a person who violated military law.
