The actions in retaliation of claims of election hacking and claims of American diplomats in Moscow being harrassed.
Russia's ambassador to the United States, Sergei Kislyak, will not be expelled. Also, the US Treasury Dept’s Office of Foreign Assets Control imposed sanctions on two Russians – Evgeniy Mikhailovich Bogachev and Aleksey Alekseyevich Belan – for engaging in “malicious cyber-enabled activities”.
