Justice Roberts: "Presidents Lawfully Have Power to Regulate Immigration"
6-26-18, WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld President Trump's ban on travel from several Muslim overwhelmingly terror Muslim countries: Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen. The court rejected the challenge that it discriminated against Muslims or exceeded his authority. In the 5-4 decision Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion, joined by his four conservative colleagues. He wrote that presidents have substantial power to regulate immigration. Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote in a dissent and Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan also dissented. Source
