Scripture for today, 1-16-21: Angels' Protection

Angels: God’s Secret Agents
“The Apostle Peter was imprisoned and was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.  And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, 'Arise up quickly.' And his chains fell off from his hands.  And the angel said unto him, 'Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals.' And so he did. And he saith unto him, 'Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me'.”

1-16-21, I am sharing this excerpt from Billy Graham’s 1975 book as it is a faith building report of instances of recorded and documented events where the Lord sent His holy angels to protect His chosen.

Chapter 1: Billy Graham, 1975: “I did this biblical study on angels believing this subject is very relevant. As I searched libraries and bookstores, I was surprised to find many volumes on Satan … who is a fallen angel … but nothing on God’s good angels. Although I did find that John Calvin said, “Angels are the dispensers and administrators of the divine beneficence toward us. They regard our safety, undertake our defense, direct our ways and exercise a constant solicitude that no evil befall us.”

 A missionary in China shared the truths of the Lord Jesus with an illiterate Chinese mother who had never seen a Bible. The missionary told her that ‘Jesus is able to help you when you’re in trouble.’ There came a time when the woman was about to be attacked by a tiger. In her fear she cried out, ‘Oh Jesus, help me!’ The ferocious beast, instead of attacking suddenly turned and ran away! Was there an angel standing by?

 Another event as recorded in Readers Digest happened to a celebrated Philadelphia neurologist, Dr. S. W. Mitchell. He had gone to bed after a very tiring day when suddenly he was awakened by a deeply upset little girl knocking on his door who asked him to come with her as her mother was very sick. It was a cold and snowy night but the doctor dressed and followed her. Arriving at the home of the mother who was desperately ill with Pneumonia … he arranged for her care and complimented the woman for the persistence.

Psalm 103:20 "Praise the LORD, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His bidding, who obey His word."
 
Matthew 18:10 10
Jesus about children: "See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of My Father in heaven."
 
Luke 15:10 10
"In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Luke 13:3

Note: If God protected His servants in the past ... surely He'll do it in the present. And hopefully President Trump is one of His faithful servants who is protected.
