A Message of Hope

However, we who have placed our hopes and aspirations in Jesus alone have reason to be optimistic! Jesus said He was going to prepare a place for His faithful followers and return. John 14:1-3 As He ascended two angels stood by and told the watching apostles that He would return in ‘like manner.’ Acts 1:11 Jesus described a specific scenario through which they would once again be united with Him. He described a Jewish wedding to convey not only the absolute certainty of His return, but the inexpressible joy that would also accompany it! Amos 3:7; Ephesians 5:23-27; 2 Corinthians 11:2 This imagery perfectly fits the concept of the rapture of the church when Jesus Christ, after leaving to prepare a place for His ‘bride,’ would once again return. The apostle John, in his Apocalypse, glimpsed this glorious future when he saw the Marriage Supper of the Lamb: “The Lamb [Christ] has come, and His wife has made herself ready … arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright.” Revelation 19:7-8 If the Lord tarries much longer, the Body of Christ will begin to experience increased persecution here in the USA just as in the Middle East. However, we have peace and hope as He promised never to leave or forsake us.
