***
The Name 'Jerusalem' Appears in the Holy Bible 811 Times
Zero Times in the Islamic Book, Koran

***
The Lord Jesus said, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!"

10-2-18, Historically the land of the Hebrews has consistently [without interruption] belonged to the Jewish people; who has always maintained a presence. Although, during wars, it and her Capitol, Jerusalem, have been captured and recaptured; I found 28 times. As the Islamic descendants of Ishmael continue to stage attacks and protests against the Jews, I thought the following chronology would be helpful:

  1. BC: 2000 Abraham meets Melchizedek, King of Salem and Priest of "God most high" (El Elyon), Genesis 14:18 -20, Hebrews 6:20-7:22). Abraham journeys three days from Beersheba or Gerar to Mt. Moriah in Jerusalem to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice in obedience to God's command. God provides a ram as a substitute. (Genesis 22, Hebrews 11:8-19). Mt. Moriah is the site of the Temple Mount.  Abraham paid 400 pieces of silver for the Land in Hebron for his wife Sarah’s grave. Genesis 23:9-16
  2. 1400 After setting up the Ark at Shiloh near Shechem, Joshua launches the conquest into Jerusalem (Joshua 10:23) 1000 BC The Jebusite stronghold in Jerusalem is captured by King David. The city of David is built south of the Temple Mount. David reigns thirty-three years in Jerusalem after a 7 year reign in Hebron (2 Samuel 5:1-15). The Ark of the Covenant is returned by David into Jerusalem and placed in the Tabernacle Moses built there. (2 Samuel 6:1-18, 1 Chronicles 15:1-16). David plans to build the First Temple, but is not permitted because he is a man of war. He purchases Araunah's threshing floor and erects an altar of sacrifice on Mt. Moriah. This is the site of the First Temple. 950 BC Solomon with the help of Hiram of Tyre and builds the first Temple and royal palace. He uses local limestone, cedar from Lebanon and great amounts of gold and silver. (1 Kings 5:9, 2 Chronicles 2). Solomon also enlarges the city; (1 Kings 7:1-12) took 7 years to build the temple. 935 BC - The kingdom is divided into two tribes: North ten tribes (Israel) and South two (Judah and Benjamin). 910 BC Solomon's Temple is plundered by Shishak (Sheshonk) Pharaoh of Egypt. Much gold and silver are taken. (1 Kings 14:25-28, 2 Chronicles 12:1-11). 835 BC Joash repairs the Temple, establishes maintenance fund, and brings period of revival and reform to the southern kingdom. (2 Kings 12:5ff). 720  BC Ahaz king of Judah dismantles Solomon's bronze vessels and places private Syrian altar in the Temple (2 Kings 16:1-20, 2 Chronicles 29-31). He later stripped the gold to pay tribute to Sennacherib. 716 BC Hezekiah, king of Jerusalem, with help of God and the prophet Isaiah resists Assyrians attempt to capture Jerusalem. (2 Chronicles 32). Wells and springs stopped up. 640 BC King Josiah repairs the Temple and brings about national religious reforms (2 Chronicles 34-35) [last mention of the Ark of the Covenant].
  3. 606 Jerusalem is taken and the first wave of Jews carried into captivity, Daniel among them. The approaching "times of the gentiles" is signaled by Nebuchadnezzar's conquest of Judah. 598 BC Jerusalem is plundered by Nebuchadnezzar for a second time. 597 BC King Jehoiachin is carried captive by Nebuchadnezzar and the second wave of Jews is taken into Babylon, Ezekiel among them (2 Kings 24:10-16; 2 Chronicles 36:10; Ezekiel 1:2). 587 BC Zedekiah rebels against Nebuchadnezzar. He is blinded and taken to Babylon where he dies. 586 BC 9th of Av. Nebuchadnezzar burns the city, and destroys the Temple. He murders many of the inhabitants and carries off a great number into captivity. (2 Kings 24-25, 2 Chronicles 36). [The destruction of Jerusalem is the starting date for the "Times of the Gentiles"--Yeshua said, "Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the gentiles until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled" (Luke 21:24). In 573 BC the Prophet Jeremiah predicted a seventy year captivity in Babylon. In 553 BC Belshazzar desecrates the Temple vessels in Babylon. Handwriting on the wall seals his fate that night as Babylon is taken by the Medes and Persians. (Daniel 5) In 539 BC Cyrus, having established himself in control of the Medo-Persian Empire in 549 B.C., captures Babylon, and the second world empire to dominate the Jews during the times of the gentiles. 538 The edict of Cyrus opens the way for the Jews in Babylon to return to the land (Ezra 1:1-4).
  4. 536 seventy years of captivity are over. Cyrus the Persian [modern day Iran] decrees as, 170 years earlier, the prophet Isaiah had predicted. In 517 BC through the leadership of Nehemiah and Zerubbabel. Altar of sacrifice is built on the Temple Mount.  539 Fall of Babylon to the Medes and Persians. 539-334 The Persian Period. The Jews are in the land but are under the control of the Persians (Josephus, Antiquities 111:7).
  5. 536 Feast of Tabernacles kept in Jerusalem, and foundation of temple laid, (Ezra 3). Then Temple building stopped for 16 years; in 515 BC the second Temple finished. In 458 BC Nehemiah goes to Jerusalem. Rebuilds the walls of the city in 52 days (Nehemiah 6:15).
  6. 314 The city is taken by the Greek, Antiochus the Great. [334-167 The Hellenistic Period. The Jews, in the land, are under the successive dominion of the Greeks, then the Ptolemies of Egypt, and then the Seleucids of Syria. This is the third great world empire to dominate the Jews during the times of the gentiles (Daniel 2:32. 39; Josephus, Antiquities 11.7-12.6; Daniel 11:2-20).
  7. 166 Judas Maccabaeus leads a Jewish revolt that gains back Jerusalem. Temple is cleansed and sacrifices are restored.
  8. 164 Jerusalem is besieged by Antiochus Eupator.
  9. 126 Jerusalem is besieged by Antiochus Soter.
  10. 63 Jerusalem is captured by the Roman general Pompey. 40 Jerusalem is captured by the Parthians.
  11. 38 Taken by Herod the Great a cruel ruler who was a ruthless murderer. It was he who ordered the slaughter of the innocents at Bethlehem. (Matt. 2). Herod ordered the Temple enlarged. A new Temple is rebuilt over the sight of Zerubbabel's Temple. Temple and courts rebuilt until A.D. 63 the current ‘western/wailing’ wall currently still exist. (John 2)
  12. AD: 6 AD - Luke 2: Jesus was circumcised and dedicated in the Temple.
  13. 29/30 The Messiah Jesus is crucified on the cross; and arose from death three days later. Then 50 days later, the first Pentecost, the Holy Spirit comes to create the church by baptizing believers into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13) Matthew 13 and Revelation 2-3.
  14. 63-70 The Roman Period - the time of Israel's travail (Matthew 24:4-8) includes the great revolt against Rome, the fall of the second temple in 70 AD (Daniel 9:26; Matthew 24:2; Josephus, Wars 2:17-7:11) when the Roman General Titus lays siege to Jerusalem destroying inhabitants, city and Temple.
  15. 135 Roman Emperor Hadrian vowed to rebuild Jerusalem from the wreckage following the Bar Kokhba revolt,  Hadrian renamed Judaea Province with the new name of Syria Palaestina, dispensing with the name of Judea.
  16. 614 Jerusalem is taken by the Persians [modern day Iran]
  17. 629 Jerusalem captured by Roman Heraclius.
  18. 637 BEGINNING OF MOSLEMS IN Jerusalem - captured by the Moslem Saracens under Omar ibn al-Khatab. [688 The Dome of the Rock is completed on the temple mount where the Jewish temple previously stood.]
  19. 1076 Atsiz takes Jerusalem from the Caliph al-Mostanther Billah.
  20. 1095 al-Afdhal ibn Bedr captures the city for Egypt after a 40 day siege.
  21. 1099 The Crusaders take Jerusalem under Godfrey de Bouillon.
  22. 1187 Jerusalem captured by Salah-ed-Din the great Moslem conqueror.
  23. 1244 Sacked by the Mongol Hordes.
  24. 1247 Jerusalem captured by the Carizmians.
  25. 1517 Ottoman Turks under Saladin conquer Palestine. The present walls that surround the old city of Jerusalem are built [305 years].
  26. 1822 Jerusalem taken by Ibrahim Pasha of Egypt.
  27. 1917 Jerusalem captured by General Allenby of Britain from the Turks, WWI.
  28. 1948 War between newly established Israel against Jordan and Egypt. This is as predicted in Ezekiel's vision of the dry bones (Ezekiel 37).] [1922-1948 The British rule Palestine under a mandate from the League of Nations [changed to United Nations] In November 1947 the United Nations General Assembly adopts partition plan for Palestine, providing for the establishment of a Jewish state. May 24, 1948 the new state of Israel is proclaimed vast numbers of Jews to return to the Land. The second exile ends (Ezekiel 11:14-17). June, 1967 The Six-Day War - Jerusalem is liberated from Jordanian control [Muslim control off and on for 1331 years] and for the first time in nearly two thousand years the Jews are in complete control of Jerusalem; also the Golan Heights, Gaza Strip and Judea/Samaria (West Bank). Israeli paratrooper Mordehai Gur, mounted on a half track, takes the Temple Mount on the third day of the Six Day War and Temple Mount is regained, but authority is turned back over to the Muslims.  On June 28, 1967 Prime Minister Levi Eshkol met Moslem and Christian leaders pledging free access to all holy places. The same day the barriers came down between east and west Jerusalem. [After fifty-one years on December 6, 2017, United States President Donald Trump declares Jerusalem Capitol of Israel. May 14, 2018, the US Consulate-General Embassy moved from Tel Aviv to Israel’s capitol, Jerusalem coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the Israeli Declaration of Independence.]

✝️ 6-17-20, Many people have the misconception that the Lord's TEN COMMANDMENTS are just suggestions since Jesus came and we're now under the NEW COVENANT. Well, Jesus repeated them in Matthew 19:18-19.

    Picture
✝️ 6-15-20, Our hearts break as we watch Americans riot and kill performing all types of lawlessness; they behave as if there is no God as if THEY are God. Surely we are in the last days as described by the Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4, 3:3
    Picture
✝️ 6-12-20, The Lord □Jesus' mom, Mary's cousin Elizabeth's son John the Baptist was brutally killed because of a wicked hateful woman. Matthew 14:3-11; Mark 6:14-29; Luke 9:7-9
    Picture
✝️ 6-11-20, Regarding forgiveness: the Lord □ Jesus clearly taught that marriage was between a husband & wife. [Matthew 19:5; Mark 7:21] He loves all sinners both the heterosexual & homosexual. He promises forgiveness to everyone who repents coming to Him for salvation. He told the woman caught in adultery: "Go and sin no more.” Matthew 11:28
    Picture
✝️ 6-9-20, The Lord □ Jesus explained to Nicodemus that he must be 'born again' [John 3.3, 7]. In Utah I've heard some LDS people scoff and ridicule believers in Christ who are 'born again.' Those who scorn are lost; Jesus clearly said to 'marvel not that you must be born again'; without Christ we are lost. John 3:17-18
    Picture
✝️ 6-8-20, Jesus is God; He came to save sinners. “For He [Jesus] Whom God sent speaks the words of God: The Father loves the Son & has given all things into His hand. Picture
✝️ 6-7-20, The Lord □ Jesus spoke from the cross first of forgiveness, salvation then of His Mother's care into John's hands. He spoke of being forsaken & then triumph as His task as human was complete shedding His perfect blood for the forgiveness of sins to all who repent believing in Him. His body was thirsty. And last of His reunion with the Father. Matthew 27:46; Luke 23:34, 43, 46; John 19:26-28, 30; Mark 15:34

✝️ 5-13-20, What a wonderful vision the Apostle John had of the New Jerusalem. It is 1,500 miles square and 1,500 miles high. Almost the size of the United States. The Lord □ Jesus is the Light. Imagine no more wickedness. No more pain & crying. Revelation 21:1-2, 3-27, 22:1-5
