Scripture for Today, 12-11-20: For His Name's Sake

Conviction for the Believer
"Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. v3 ​ He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake."

Romans 1:24-25, Psalms 23:3

12-11-20, Pastor Charles Stanley -- Recently I spoke to a heartbroken woman. Her father was dying, he was cold toward his family and God. He desired no contact and refused to discuss any spiritual matter.

However, God is able to reach anyone — even someone hostile to the Lord God. Consider the apostle Paul’s conversion. Scripture does teach that the Lord eventually gives people over to their reprobate minds due to the hardness of their own hearts. Romans 1:28 There may come a point when He no longer draws them by revealing their need for a Savior.

The situation is different for faithful obedient repentant  believers, though. When we, in our humanness occasionally sin, the Holy Spirit quickly convicts us so we repent intending not to do it again. Unlike the habitual unrepentant sinner who has no remorse or intention to quit it!

The danger is that those who blaspheme and scoff at God and His commands; their hearts become desensitized and eventually cease hearing His warning as God 'gave them over.' Romans 1:28

Those who are genuinely children of God, loves Him too much appreciating what He's done for us to want to deliberately disobey and scorn His commands.  Though chastisement and conviction are never pleasant, the Lord knows our travelling down the wrong road results in much greater heartache. The Lord is a shepherd, using His staff and rod to lovingly bring us to green pastures.

On the Christian journey, there will be temptations to stray, falsely promising to satisfy longings. Stay closely connected to Jesus through His word and prayer. Be listening so you can immediately obey when He calls you to change course. In the long run, living God’s way brings the greatest joy. Source

12-11-20, The Supreme Court has refused to hear the Texas +18 States lawsuit over the Presidential Election fraud ... many experts are claiming this is the end of the road to 'stop the steal' ... 

The Lord God said: 
"I am the LORD your God; keep My statutes & judgments."

Today, we see in the Old Testament many times God's chosen had disobeyed Him suffering greatly for it. God said, "...therefore I gave them statutes that were not good & judgments whereby they should not live. I polluted them in their own gifts causing them to pass through the fire... make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD!"  Ephesians 20:19-26

Why do we think God doesn't still administer this same discipline
- America is being judged and coming up wanting.
