Series Martyrdom of Apostles of Jesus #1: James, John's Brother12-27-16, It has been suggested that Jesus Christ apostles invented and lied about His virgin birth, life, miracles, death, resurrection and ascension to Heaven. These naysayers claim that the reports of the apostles' martyrdom is also fiction. Is it probable or possible that these men conspired to form a new religion? What is their reward if that were true? It defies common sense and historical evidence! If they proclaimed something they knew was a lie facing lengthy tortures and an inescapable painful death, they could easily just recanted couldn't they - if it was a lie? But it wasn't a lie. Of the twelve apostles all suffered horrendous deaths of martyrdom except the Apostle John. History shows that none of them ever denied their testimony. Proving to any fair minded observer that their testimonies was fact. The virgin birth, life, miracles, death, resurrection and ascension of the Lord God, our Savior the Messiah Jesus Christ is all true. John the Baptist How they died: The New Testament tells of the fate of only two of the apostles [John the Baptist wasn't an apostle - but he was beheaded]: Judas, who committed suicide and no martyr betrayed Jesus and then went out and hanged himself and the Apostle James the son of Zebedee, who about 44 AD was executed by King Herod: Apostle James James (son of Zebedee & Salome): The newly-appointed governor of Judea, Herod Agrippa, decided to ingratiate himself with the Romans by persecuting leaders of the new sect followers of Jesus. After James was arrested and led to place of execution, his unnamed accuser was moved by his courage, not only repented and converted on the spot, but asked to be executed alongside James. The Roman executioners obliged, and both men were simultaneously beheaded. Acts 12:1-2 "Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword." Two records of Traitor Judas Escariot's death: Matthew 27:5 Judas cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself." Acts 1:18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. Comments are closed.
