Near the end of John Haller's message of 2/25/18 - he does a great job describing the warfare that Israel's King Hezekiah fought [did not have to fight] against the 185,000 men army of the Assyrians. 2 Kings 19:32-36
In Spiritual Warfare, Often the Lord Sends His Angels
2-25-18, * -- The Bible tells us our battle is against spiritual powers. Jesus sometimes cast demons out of people; other times He healed people with no mention of the demonic. Occasionally God sends His angels to fight for us. The apostle Paul instructs Christians to wage war against the sin in themselves (Romans 6:1-2) and warns us to oppose the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10–18). Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers and authorities, empowered by Satan. God provides His born again believers with “armor” for our encouragement, peace and defense. Ephesians 6:13–18 What do these pieces of spiritual "armor" represent in spiritual warfare? We are to:
Michael the archangel did not rebuke Satan in his own power; he said,
“The Lord rebuke you!” Jude 1:9
Our ultimate defense is the assurance we have of our salvation, an assurance that no spiritual force can take away. Our offensive weapon is the Word of God, not our own opinions and feelings. Matthew 4:1–11; Psalm 119:11; Acts 19:13–16
