Forgiven to ForgiveJesus said, "Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against
thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him." Luke 17:3; 18:15 2-6-18, David Zandstra -- Unrepentant sinning against God places us in a debt that is both un-payable and life-threatening. God warned Adam and Eve that disobedience against Him would lead to certain death—physical, spiritual and eternal (Genesis 2:17). But when our first parents incurred that debt, although they were punished by being banned from the garden, God showed mercy and promised to send a deliverer. Death would not have power over them forever; Jesus came to save all repentant sinners. (Genesis 3:15; 1 Corinthians 15:55-57). "You, being dead in your sins ... hath the Lord Jesus quickened [made alive] together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us taking it out of the way, nailing it to His cross." Colossians 2:13-15 The release from our debt to God is only available through Jesus Christ. He willingly took on Himself the debt we owe by shedding His precious blood and dying in our place. He raised Himself from the grave and we now because we have confessed our sin and live for the Lord Jesus, we can live without guilt and without the burden of paying that debt. Thank You, Lord.
