4-9-21, Good News Network -- Famed egyptologist and former antiquities minister Dr. Zahi Hawass reports that in September 2020 excavations began about 300 miles south of Cairo, Egypt and to the team’s great surprise, formations of mud bricks began to appear in all directions. [More here Facebook] Al Jazeera reports that many treasures have already been found such as scarab pendants, jewelry and pottery bearing inscriptions that tell a lot about a critical period in Egyptian history from 1353 BC that experts still puzzle over. An archaeologist at Johns Hopkins University reports that work is underway and the mission expects to uncover untouched tombs filled with treasures. The discovery of the Lost City not only will give us a rare glimpse into the life of the Ancient Egyptians at the time where the Empire was at his wealthiest; but will help us shed light on one of history’s greatest mystery: why did Akhenaten and Nefertiti decide to move to Amarna? And once again, confirm many historical facts as reported in God's holy word, the Bible. More here

Although much of its history was shrouded in mystery until the last century, the careful research of archaeologists has now provided almost limitless material for Egyptology, the science of the history and culture of this great nation of the past. First mention of Egypt is under its ancient name of Mizraim, one of the sons of Ham in Genesis 10:6. The nation of Egypt appears in scripture 611 times in 558 verses in the KJV. It's evident that the king of the south, namely, Egypt, has a part in end-time events and participates in the world struggle leading up to the second coming of Christ. However, a final chapter is written in Egypt’s future in which it is pictured that Egypt will have a spiritual revival (cp. Isaiah 19:18-24) and Israel will be regathered.

Isaiah 19:2 And I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians, and they will fight, each against another and each against his neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom;
