If, in the Old Testament Almighty God was so insistent of the preciseness of the materials and process of erecting the movable Holy Place, the Priests garments, artifacts and the way to slaughter the sacrificial animals, and He was - why do we think He's so liberal today? |
4-28-20, In the Old Testament we learn of the detail given by God to Moses for the erection of the movable “Tabernacle” and Most Holy Place where God’s ‘Ark of the Covenant’ was housed. These scriptures clearly display the importance of God's focus on details. There are many chapters devoted to the materials, proportions, decorations, colors of the priests’ garments, who can approach God in the Most Holy Place and the specific manner of dissecting and offering the animal sacrifices. Once annually sin was temporarily removed by the sacrifice of certain objects; God specified the blood of the certain sacrifices, a bull and a goat, covering both the sins of the priest, his family and all the people. As an illustration of the monumental detail God gives in His instruction for the tent ‘Tabernacle’ and priests garments a very short excerpt of what He told Moses:
| After Moses was given the Ten Commandments, God gave him extremely detailed instruction [Exodus 25:1 to Exodus 31:11] for the construction and assembly of:
Then the Lord Jesus came as the ‘Lamb of God’ to permanently cleanse and remove the sins of the world for all who will repent and come to Him for salvation. Jesus said we must be born again. [Luke 13:3; John 3:3, 7] Seeing the specificity of God’s tabernacle building and sacrifice detailed commands in the Old Testament; how is it that today many people behave as if the Lord God almighty has lowered His royal requirements and expectations for our precise obedience to His commands? Sad that many now believe they just say a simple prayer asking God to forgive them and then continue to live as before; with no more thought about blasphemy and obedience. They believe God ignores their disobedience as 'once saved always saved.' Seems illogical that a person would repeatedly & deliberately without remorse keep sinning after believing Jesus died for them telling them to obey. Were they ever truly saved? The fact is that God is the same as yesterday, today and forever. [Hebrews 13:8] Jesus said, ‘If you love Me obey My commands’ and the most important command: The first of all the commandments is, the Lord our God is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with all thy mind and with all thy strength." [John 14:15; Mark 12:29; 16:15; Matthew 28:19; Leviticus 18:4] |
