 Joel was inspired of God to say, "And it shall come to pass afterward..." In Acts 2:17, the Apostle Peter said: "And it shall come to pass in the last days..." After what shall be fulfilled or after when?** "The last days" could be used as a synonym for the Dispensation of Grace. So the "afterward" in Joel 2:28-29 literally means that the entire nation and people of Israel will experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit after this present dispensation is over when the Church is removed from this earth in what’s called the ‘rapture.’ I believe we are living in "the last days" right now! This year, according to or current calendars, on May 20, 2018, is the anniversary of ‘Pentecost’ [50 days after the resurrection of the Lord Jesus]. [1] I do not dogmatically claim that the Lord Jesus is going to return this Pentecost; as the Lord Jesus may come on some other day, but the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit tells me that He is coming SOON. When the Lord Jesus does come, will He find you saved and ready, or will you be one of those left behind? If it's the latter, repent and turn to Him today.  Comments are closed.
