Many Significant Historical World Events Occurred On God's Feast Days

6-18-18, * -- Significant historical events have amazingly and super-naturally occurred on Biblical Jewish Feast days of Israel; occurrences such as these cannot be said of any other nation in the world.  We are not to be legalistic observing certain days; however we can conclude they are part of a Divine plan and have spiritual meaning. (See Colossians 2:16-17). Important to note that all key events in the earthly life of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, occurred on key festival days.

I. PASSOVER - 14th Day of Nissan (March/April): Commemorates the liberation of the Jewish  slavery in Egypt. [1]

• God's covenant given to Abraham (Genesis 17:1-7).
• The book of the law was found, after being lost (2 Chronicles 34:15)
• Dedication of the 2nd temple (Ezra 16:19).
•  Yeshua Hamashiach, Jesus was crucified & died

II. THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD  – 15th Day of Nissan - day after Passover (March/April)  (Exodus 12:14-17)  [2]

• The exodus out of Egyptian bondage began
•  The fall of the Jewish resistance at Masada

III. FEAST OF FIRST FRUITS -  17th Day of the month of Nissan (MarchApril):  Leviticus 23:9-14; Exodus 23:16; Numbers 28:26-31; 1 Cor 15:21-23 [3]

• Noah's Ark comes to rest on Mt. Ararat (Genesis 8:4)
• Israel miraculously crossed the Red Sea going into promised land (Exodus 12:25).
• Israel eats the first fruits of the promised land.
• The resurrection of Jesus Christ (John 12:24) and many of the Old Testament saints rose with Him (Matthew 27:52-53).

IV. PENTECOST, Shavuot aka Feast of Weeks, Pesach, 6th day of Sivan (April-May):  Marks the beginning of Israel’s wheat harvest in Israel. (Exodus 12:14-17) 2018: May 19-21 [4]

• God gave the Torah to Israel on Mount Sinai. (Exodus 32:28)
• The exodus out of Egypt began (out of bondage to Egypt).
• The Holy Spirit is given to the church (Acts 2:1); 3,000 were saved.
• The fall of the Jewish resistance at Masada in 73AD.

V. SHIVAH ASAR B’Tammuz, 17th Day of the month of Tammuz (July in Gregorian calendar) The fast of the 17th of the Hebrew month of Tammuz the start of a three-week mourning period for the destruction of Jerusalem and the two Holy Temples. Zech 8:19) [5] 2018: July 1

• Moses broke the tablets when he saw the Israelites worshipping the Golden Calf.
• During the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem, the Jews were forced to cease offering the daily sacrifices due to the lack of sheep.
• Flavius Josephus related that appx 50 AD Roman soldier, Apostomus, seized the Jewish holy Torah-scroll and, with abusive and mocking language, burned it in public. This incident almost brought on a revolution; but the Roman procurator Cumanus appeased the Jewish populace by beheading him. **
• The walls of Jerusalem were breached by the Romans. [Note: The chance of 3 national disasters or major events occurring on the same day is 1 in 133,2256.]

VI. TISHA B’AV,  9th Day of Av (approx. August in Gregorian calendar): [6]
2018, July 21-22

• During the 40 yr wandering, 12 scouts return from Canaan and 10 of them report that they can’t take the land, disbelieving God.
• Babylonians destroyed Solomon's temple (587 BC).
• In 70 AD, the Romans destroyed Herod's temple. [Jewish historian, Josephus, recorded the temple destruction was the hand of God behind it occurring on the same day as the destruction of Solomon's temple.]
• In 135 AD Romans, under Hadrian, crushed a second Jewish rebellion for independence in a three-year war ending in 135 AD.  Jerusalem was plowed with salt.
• In 1290 AD, England expelled the Jews.
• In 1492 AD, Spain expelled the Jews.
• In 1914, World War II was declared***

VII. ROSH HASHANA, Yom Teruah or  Feast of Trumpets - 1st Day of the month of Tishri – (September in Gregorian calendar): Israel blows a series of Shofar (Ram's horn, similar to a Trumpet) (Lev 23:24,32; Nehemiah 8:18) [7] 2018: Sep 9-11

• The high priest brought the first offering to the rebuilt temple (Ezra 3:1-6).
• Ezra read the law to the returned exiles (Nehemiah 8:1-12).

VIII. YOM KIPPUR, Day of Atonement, 10th Day of the month of Tishri –  (approx. late September): A day set aside for fasting, depriving oneself of pleasures and repenting of previous year’s sins (Lev 23:27).  This is also when a trumpet of the Jubilee year is sounded (The Jubilee year is the 50th year). [8] 2018: Oct 8-9

• Aaron made atonement for Israel (Lev 16:1-8).
• Israel saved from annihilation in the war of Yom Kippur, 1973.

IX: TABERNACLES, or Feast of Booths - 15th Day of the month of Tishri – (Sep-Oct in Gregorian calendar): Term of seven days (Exodus 23:16. Lev 23:34-36, 39-41) where the first day is a Sabbath.  The Shofar/Ram's Horn [trumpet] is also sounded at the beginning. Commemorating the final harvest and also the wandering in the desert  (Lev 23:39). [9] 2018: Sep 23-30th

• Dedication of Solomon's temple.
• Jesus Christ Born (Zech 14:16; John 1:14) [“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.” The word “dwelt” that is used here is the Greek word “skenoo” which literally means “to tabernacle”!]

X. HANUKKAH -  24th Day Kislev (November/December): Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire. [10] 2018: Dec 2-10

• Foundation laid for the 2nd temple after 70 years captivity in Babylon (Haggai 2:18).
• In December 1917, British Army General Allenby's planes protected Jerusalem as they flew over Turkish held city dropping leaflets saying ‘surrender’ signed by General Allenby [Allenby means "prophet of God" in the Arabic]. Turks surrendered without bloodshed.
