What does the Bible say about fatherhood? 6-18-17, In the United States, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June, but the holiday honors Fathers and their duty everywhere. A few pertinent Bible truths from God's Word: “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children.” Deuteronomy 6:6 “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;” Psalm 103:13 “My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent His rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those He loves, as a father the son he delights in.” Proverbs 3:11-12 v24 "Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. v26 Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. v6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 13:24, 14:26, 22:6 v1 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
