Rosh Hashanah [Feast of Trumpets] 3 BCEvidence for the Actual Birthdate of Jesus |
It's very fitting that the Creator of the world, JESUS THE CHRIST, (John 1:1-3, 14) would come into the world in human form on the anniversary date of the world's creation Tishri 1. Based on many verifiable facts, He was born on September 11, 3 BC. [9/11] |
- Noah was born on this date and the ark was on dry ground:(Genesis 8:13)
- Joseph was freed from an Egyptian prison and subsequently became Viceroy of Egypt. This feast day is considered to be a day of freedom (Gen 41:14)
- Jewish people were led out of Egyptian slavery (Exodus 14:30)
- New Year’s Day for commercial and royal reckonings; signified a time of “new beginnings” (Micah 7:19)
Today the countdown to this year's Feast of Trumpets, we have 61 days to pray, watch and wait; see clock here: http://www.shepherdministries.net/home/rosh_hashanah_countdown |

I've been asked about the possible discrepancy of the birth of Jesus being 3BC when it's traditionally reported that Herod the Great died in 4BC. Lenard doesn't speak about Herod ... Apparently the evidence of history, archaeology and astronomy now shows that Herod died in early 1 B.C. as confirmed by Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, Africanus, Hippolytus of Rome, Hippolytus of Thebes, Origen, Eusebius and Epiphanius. Joseph Lennard addressed the conflicting beliefs
about about 'Tabernacles' in his full message he said:
"The Feast of Tabernacles occurred from September 26 to October 3 in the year 3 BC (Tishri 15-22). Jesus’ birth during that time is impossible for Jesus birth to be on the Feast of Tabernacles for several reasons. He could not have been born during any one of the three Pilgrim Feasts: Passover/Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, or Tabernacles because these were times when all Jewish men in Israel were required by the Law given by God to Moses to be in Jerusalem (Deuteronomy 16:6, 11, 16). However, Luke tells us that during Jesus’ nativity “everyone went to his own city” (Luke 2:3). Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem, not to Jerusalem at the time of His birth! This necessarily rules out both Passover/Unleavened Bread and Tabernacles as dates for his birth."

We are children of the Light. Jesus will not come upon us as a thief in the night. 1 Thess 5:4 Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Hi Annette:
I just question #3 above. The Hebrews left Egypt on Passover (in the spring), not in the fall. It was the first Passover.
Also, if Jesus was born in 3 BC, then 1) He would only have been 32 when He died in 30 AD, as there is no year zero, and 2) if Herod died in 4 BC and ordered all the infants in Bethlehem killed before he died, Jesus wouldn't have been born yet. But Herod was responding to the magi's testimony of His birth, so He had to have been born before Herod died.
I've also heard He may have been born on the Feast of Tabernacles, in that God tabernacled with men through Jesus.
Anyway, just some thoughts. I do think we're close though. With the two eclipses this year and the matching one in 2024, and the way they make an "X" across the U.S., and the Rev. 12 sign being fulfilled, plus the 70-yr mark since 1947 makes 2017 the most likely candidate.

He said:
The Feast of Tabernacles occurred from September 26 to October 3 in the year 3 BC (Tishri 15-22). Jesus’ birth during that time is impossible for several reasons. When properly examined, it is obvious that Jesus could not have been born during any one of the three Pilgrim Feasts: Passover/Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, or Tabernacles. These were times when all Jewish men in Israel were required by the Law given by God to Moses to be in Jerusalem (Deuteronomy 16:6, 11, 16).
